GEEEEE… Wonder why they went out of business? Harvest and ACRE are next I hope.

Not getting business because they are closed– I think the owner is planning to put something else in but they seem to have been delayed their other ventures.

I’m not sure why this place is not packed on Saturday nights like Harvest is. The staff was kind and helpful, they have a great wine list, and the food was pretty good. I can see that its a little expensive, but I thought it was worth it. I had the plain old spaghetti and meatball with an awesome house made tomato sauce and my friend had a beautiful, fresh eggplant and gnocchi dish that was also crazy good… saw some dude complaining about the dinner rolls… not sure what that’s about. Not sure what is currently going on with the restaurant. I have tried to go a couple of times and they weren’t open. Not sure if its bad luck or they are renovating…

We live right down the street from Georgio, about half a bock. We have been meaning to go in for a while but just never did until last Saturday. We wanted local food and italian sounded good for a change. When we went in it was pretty empty but it was beautiful and had nice music and lighting. When we were seatwed the staff was very nice and accomodating. The menu was small but everything looked great. My fiancé ordered the filet and I ordered chicken parm. Needless to say both were amazing. The filet especially was cooked to perfection(medium rare) and the texture and flavor combined with the sauces and such were to die for. The prices are amazing for such great food. We are even thinking of having out rehearsal dinner there now. We will be back again and again.

Wow. So many surprises and not good ones. Let’s start with the little things, like the bread. Terrible. Frozen rolls at a supposedly nice Italian place? That is sacrilege. Plain old white dinner rolls that were from GFS or somewhere quickly nuked in the microwave. I had salmon. Way overcooked. Again, it seemed like it was frozen and nuked. Nothing there seemed like it was made from scratch. What’s good? Wine selection. Wine tastings.

First, let me say that this review is concerned with their bar, not their food. I have rarely eaten much beyond the appetizer’s there, so I don’t really feel qualified to review their menu. Their bar is another story; that I can review. The atmosphere is pleasant, the drinks are very good and their selection is solid. I’ve only ever had one bartender with less than great knowledge of a drink recipe, but she found the recipe on her i-phone and still whipped up a solid beverage. It isn’t too loud, is clean and cozy, and they pour well. It is, in terms of atmosphere, a very nice place to have an adult beverage! People have complained about their pricing, and if you’re used to rude waitstaff and drinks served in plastic cups, then I get it. If, however, you are used to restaurant’s that do not cater to a hipster or college crowd on a budget, then you will probably enjoy the experience. Seating at the bar or nearby tables that are removed from the main dining area, and the service at the tables is every bit as good as it is at the bar itself. No wait and fine libations!

Food was OK(I think I can cook better tasting pasta dishes than their cooks). I expected more given their price range. Though the atmosphere was pretty good, and service was fine.

Overall disappointing and expensive. I ordered the bruschetta appetizer and it was awful. The bread was barely toasted, it was smothered in shredded grocery store cheese(not hard parm) and the balsamic was sickeningly sweet. I ordered the shrimp scampi. It was ok, probably a 2.5 out of 5. Nothing special, frozen shrimp that was tough from bring over cooked and linguini straight out of the box. My wife got the gnocchi. It was not homemade and very meaty. Vodka sauce was fine. Overall the experience was far to expensive for food I could have done better myself on a bad day. Plus the service was mediocre and insincere. I will not return, which is a shame because I want to support things in my neighborhood. Save your money and go to lavash just a few doors down.

My boyfriend took me here for a great dinner. Overall, great dining experience. Loved the appetizer and the price for the value. But not as big of a fan for their main dishes(although the portions were great). Appetizers: Make sure you get the Bruschetta. It was the best Bruschetta I’ve ever had in my life. Most restaurants don’t give you enough basil or balsamic, but Giogio’s give just the perfect amount. Entrée: I had the seafood linguine and although I loved the portion and the variety of seafood on my plate, I felt like the dish itself lacked seafood flavor. The tomato sauce was good but it was very runny and thin. In addition, I felt like the pasta didn’t absorb any of the seafood or pasta sauce and therefore, made it a bit bland. Don’t get me wrong though, I still loved the dish and finished it off quite easily. It just wasn’t what I was looking for in a seafood tomato sauce. And especially after a tasteful appetizer, I was expecting the entrée to incorporate bolder flavors.

Head ups — Giorgio is a Colin approved date spot for all of you out there in the dating scene! Have dined here a few times and while the food is certainly good, when it comes to Italian in Columbus, the competition is pretty fierce. I will say that the zucchini fries are excellent! Overall, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly with half of the place devoted to the dining room and the other half occupied by their bar. Love the bar, which is small, but the horseshoe shape is perfect for hanging out. Bartenders are very nice and the overall customer vibe is refined and happy. I would describe Giorgio as subtle, romantic, vibrant, friendly and usually very busy, which is good for people watching. We have peeped a ton people who are clearly out on first dates at Giorgio. They serve champagne splits(single serve bottles), along with traditional aperitifs, which has had me landing here, after a night on the town. My only beef here is the $ 2 charge for«splitting a dessert». Wait, what. I feel like people split dessert, so they don’t feel guilty about eating a 10,000 calorie decadent chocolate lava cake with all the trimmings. Maybe this is some kind of a personal pet peeve for the owner, but to me it seems absurd. Am I wrong?

While there were some wrenches thrown in the spokes of our date, I still really liked Giorgio and would definitely go again! I’m going with Rachel P.‘s 3.5 star unoffical rating. Highlights! First off: I really liked the atmosphere. Really classy Italian style décor, but not too fancy to enjoy casually. Second: Attentive, nice service Third: Excellent bread service with yummy house made pesto butter(it’s a geniius idea!).(Why is this the first time I’ve had this??) Fourth: Fresh Ravioli Specials! Fifth: 25 bottles of wine for $ 25 Sixth: A small, but well thought out menu. Seventh: My boyfriend really enjoyed his chicken marsala entrée. Lowlights :( My caesar salad, while really cute looking, was totally overdressed. My entrée was practically not cooked. The waitress made things right as quickly as she could. But, the kitchen needs to get together! The food took a really long time. Again, get it together, Kitchen. Your food could be outstanding and your holding it back. This was still a really great date where ambiance and service took the forefront. However, this place has real potential and I will be back.
