This is my FAVORITE place to kayak, and it’s very reasonable. $ 35/​all day. Owned and operated by the nicest people on the planet!

This is a great destination for anyone in Houston who needs to get their kids or significant other out of the house. The Howells rent canoes & kayaks for a nice 4 – 5 hour or 2 day trip down the Colorado river in Columbus. Friendly & courteous service and fairly priced. The short day trip that starts at Howell’s and ends up on the south side of Columbus is well suited for young children. On our last rip we saw a pair of Bald Eagles right alongside the river.
