IHOP

Service was great. Our server Victoria is amazing. My girl had the chocolate chip buttermilk stacked pancakes & I had the Country fried steak with hash & sunny side eggs, it was delicious. Chocolate chip pancake is a bit too sweet with the syrups. So my girl ended up just eating some of mine. I had pancakes on the side and had it with a little bit of their warm original & butter pecan syrup and the syrups were great. Maybe just not with a chocolate chip pancake. Its too sweet. Also, maybe I don’t know much bout coffee, but no matter how much sugar or half & half I put it was bitter. Also, it’s a bit cold in there. Idk if they run the ceiling fans with the a/​c, but maybe wearing a spaghetti strap and shorts cause of summer wasn’t too smart.

I have definitely experienced better. Usually, the nice thing about chain restaurants is that you know what you can expect. Well… not this location.
First of all, it’s a bunch of young girls working at the entrance area and they seem to rather talk about the latest school gossip than actually help you get seated. This IHop also doesn’t believe in turning up the heat during winter months so you’re waiting in the freaking cold entrance area.
Second, it’s an old IHop, Okay I get it… you don’t have to renovate every two years. But please keep it nice and clean. If I see old ceilings with brown water mark stains, it makes me question the hygiene in this place in general.
The food was really the worst I ever had at an IHop! I ordered bacon, scrambled eggs with cheese and pancakes. The pancakes were ok but the bacon and eggs were just gross. Since when do you serve half-​cooked bacon? Isn’t it supposed to be crispy? And why were the eggs still runny and also hallway cooked?
I will definitely not come back to this location, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The food was awesome, as was the service. Prices not bad at all. They made me an omelette that 2 adults and a kid could feast on and get full. Alex was a great waitress even with it being so crowded.

Today, 6÷5÷15, is my son’s 6^th birthday. We received his «Happy Birthday» email from the IHOP Pancake Revolution Club. We went to our IHOP location listed on the email/​coupon and told our server that instead of the Rooty Jr Breakfast my son would like just a plain order of pancakes. She proceeded to tell me that it could only be used for the Rooty Jr. I pointed out the bottom portion of the email that states «Valid for one order of Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity Pancakes from regular menu or Our World Famous Pancakes from our regular menu, excluding all combos.» She stated she would check with the manager, but when she came back she stated that was only for an adult coupon. I said that it was part of the email I received so I don’t understand why my son can’t just get a regular order of pancakes. She stated that «each location had specific rules about coupons and even if they were owned by the same franchise each location was different. We just have very strict guidelines.» I stated that if getting just an order of pancakes wasn’t for the kids then it shouldn’t be on their birthday email. The server went to get the manager who stated again that it was in reference to an adult coupon and that they have to «go by the coupon part of the email that says Free Rooty Jr Breakfast.» I told her my son doesn’t like eggs, bacon, or sausage; all he wants is plain pancakes and that if they couldn’t honor it we would go somewhere else. The manager said she was sorry but that they have to go by what the coupon says. Needless to say, we left. I refuse to spend my money somewhere that will not honor the wording on their email/​coupon. My children and I probably would have spent $ 20 – 30 in this establishment today; not a lot, but I can assure you that I will never spend another dime there again. I just find it incredibly puzzling and appalling that a business would choose to lose customers over a simple order of pancakes for a 6 year old little boy on his birthday.

Was told the wait was 20 minutes. An hour and a half later, we get seated. They take our drink order… the coffee is cold. Still sitting here waiting for our food and I’m on my second glass of water. Waitress just keeps saying it’s on its way. Where? Because it isn’t here! Very loud, cramped. I should have stayed at Cracker Barrel and known it was going to be an hour. This is ridiculous. Not even sure if I’m even hungry anymore… H2O was good and cold.

This was the only iHop in the city for a while until they built the one on Gateway Rd (hence the crowding esp. on the weekends). Wait staff didn’t seem too bad. They were pretty attentive. Food is what you would expect from an iHop, nothing too special, but scratches that itch when it comes to flavored pancakes. I have never ordered anything too extravagant from here, so I can’t speak on diversity too extensively, but it seemed like more selection than your waffle hut type restaurant.

I’m sharing water with my wife because I’ve been out for 10 minutes. When I ordered I asked for extra gravy, cheese on my eggs and a water. She asked if I wanted ketchup or hot sauce, I said yes, both. I received my food with minimal gravy only covering half my steak and one of the others I asked for. It’s so slow that two staff members are sitting in the wait area chatting with the hostess. My waitress’ name is Jordan. Also my wife had a coupon for a free specialty drink… It NEVER came

Like all IHOPs I’ve visited in the past, it’s always packed early in the morning on the weekends. This place is no exception but at least the quality of food is sacrificed in the process. I hope they plan to add a little more breathing room in at this location because it’s a little on the small side.

First off let me say– I LOVE IHOP. It’s generally one of my absolute favorite breakfast places!
However, this particular IHOP left alot to be desired. My husband and I ate here on a Saturday around 10am. We expected it to be fairly crowded, so the 15 minute wait was tolerable.
Once we got to our table, the waitress did not come by for quite sometime until someone finally said (as she was nearly running by our table) — «Ihaveonemoretablebeforeyou!» While we waited, we observed another table of two gentlemen who had gotten on the wait list about 10 minutes after us. They not only got a table, but they got their FOOD before we even ordered. They had a different waitress. 10 minutes later, our waitress finally came to our table after taking the order of the family of 6 next to us. Note– she took their order, then immediately took ours before putting them in up at the counter.
Then we waited. And waited, and waited some more. Finally, we saw the family of 6 get their food, so ours must be right behind, right since they went in at the same time? For whatever reason, no. I suspect that our food was sitting up on the counter for some time, because it was only lukewarm when it came to us. I had asked for turkey bacon but they gave me regular bacon. The waitress asked me if that was ok. Um. no… so she reluctantly brought me turkey bacon. It made me feel like I was an inconvenience to her.
Last thing– every IHOP I have been to– in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Georgia and Texas (told you I love them!) has offered military discounts. However, this one offers the discount ONLY if the military person is actually wearing their uniform. I realize Ft Benning is close by, but so was Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio, Goodfellow AFB in TX, and Moody AFB in GA. They said it’s one of three in a franchise out there and they make their own rules. Bummer.
At any rate, I will definitely be going back to Columbus GA. However, I will NOT be going back to this IHOP. I’ll make the trip across the river to try the one in Alabama.
