Not impressed. I would give zero stars if I could. Hardly anything gluten free. Had a salad and it was average. We added THREE shrimp to our salad and we were charged $ 12 each! It was $ 60 for us to eat salads that we didn’t even want, but it was the only option. I’m sure for people without celiac it’s fine, but I don’t really have a reason to go back.

My boyfriend and I visited here on a weekend getaway to the Arnold Classic this past weekend and we wanted to end our vacation with a nicer place to eat and I’m glad we picked J.Alexanders. I have never been to one before but my boyfriend had in Michigan and I was very pleased from service, to style of restaurant to the food. Our server Sarah was absolutely delightful, I’ve been in the industry for a long time and she’s the type of waitress I look for. Everyone was so helpful as well– I got the cod special with a lemon butter sauce over couscous, amazing. And my boyfriend got the strip with the nyo Mac and cheese. That was amazing. I can’t tell you whose was better but his steak was spot on. I can taste it writing this– we didn’t try dessert although it looked and sounded delicious but we will be back to try it again. If you’re looking for a little more than an Applebee’s but not totally going to break your bank. I would come here. From start to finish we were very pleased!

This is a pretty good fine dining atmosphere with pretty good food & service. I still give it 4 stars for the responsiveness to complaints from others in my party.

My husband and I ate here on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. Our server was very sweet and personable. I had the southern fried chicken tenders and my husband had the French dip. Both were equally delicious. The French dip was so delectable that it was not comparable to any other French dip we’ve ever had. We came back 2 days later to have it again! We would definitely make sure we eat here each time we visit Ohio.

My lady and I went about a week ago and I have to say I was impressed with the location. Very clean, the lighting was just right and vibe of the crowd was good with good music! My review: Our waitress Carrie B was simply awesome! She wasn’t over the top and she gave us just the right attention with our orders and customer service. They are lucky to have her. Food: Amazing. I had the New York Strip with NYO mac and cheese and damn it was good. The steak was easy to cut into and the taste was one not to forget. The mac and cheese was out of this world. My lady had the Filet Mignon which was also easy to cut into and her baked potato was very good with the salt on the outside skin layered just right. We also had their salads which we ordered the Caesar and the Alex’s salad. They portion of the salads were good and not overbearing. Desert, we had Crème Brulee was flat out was great. Drinks, we had two glasses of wine each and just as a suggestion(we didn’t think about this when we ordered), depending on how many glasses each you might get, look at the prices because it would almost be a little bit cheaper to order the bottle of that wine. Great location and we will go back. Its not an every week place(due to the price) but for that once a month treat… it worth it.

I went there for a post Valentines day dinner, soo good. I had Thai chicken salad. It was scrumptious. Huge portion and comes with a tasty peanut sauce. Salads are reasonable but the entrees are $$$. Great atmosphere. Great service.

Go here for a martini! Good martinis and good sushi. Keisha was a very nice server-side and the manager was wonderful. We waited awhile for our sushi, and then it was the wrong kind, but the manager came over, apologized for the wait and comped out wrong sushi also brought the correct one.

Well, even though I love their cocktails(a little pricey), I’m still on the fence when it comes to their food. I recently got the Rattlesnake Tagliatelle(no, it doesn’t have rattlesnake in it, but chicken) and for $ 16 I feel very, VERY cheated. Very bland and flat with little meat. Now that they offer sushi, we tried the Mike’s Filet Roll, which was rather odd tasting. Basically a surimi roll with cooked beef tenderloin on top. Why. Rather, why did we think it would be good. Ever eat Steak-Ums, that frozen meat you can buy at the grocery? That’s the texture and flavor it reminded me of. That was another regretful $ 16. If I ever go back I think it’s going to be after I’ve eaten somewhere else. Sticking to after dinner cocktails and maybe, MAYBE dessert…

From the moment you walk in the door you are treated right. The restaurant is clean and the bathrooms are as well. Surprisingly the sushi is some of the best you will find. The house salad with blue cheese dressing is fantastic! The crab cakes are magnificent. I haven’t had better. So full of crab and no other fillers. The flash fried shrimp appetizer is crazy good. I also tried the fish tacos and they were wonderful. I would recommend this place highly.

Ordered drinks which came out fast. Service was good. All orders came out quick and were spot on. NY steak was okay but not overly tasty. Co workers had fish tacos, prime rib, and I don’t recall the other dish. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. Chocolate cake and cream brûlée was okay but was not creamy… Probably not fresh. Nice place but average food. Place reminded me of Hillstone group restaurants(Houstons, Hillstone) but not nearly as tasty.

Food was delicious! Service was incredible! Our server, who’s name I wish I could remember, was so pleasant and well versed in what she was serving. She never hesitated to make recommendations, all of which were spot on! My only complaint is that they could not get the 8 of us at the same table, despite there seeming to be plenty of space!

My mom and I came here last night after doing a little Christmas shopping in the area. It was a bit of a crowd since it was prime dinner hours but we did not have but a 10 minute wait. Our waitress was on point coming back and forth to make sure we needed anything(refills, questions, etc. but not to the extent of buggin us lol). We both ordered the steak rolls. I ordered a side of mac and cheese and she had a side of salad. Their mac and cheese is honestly like my favorite. Like it really is perfect! Prepared just right. Our food came out within 10 minutes of us chatting. J. Alexander is always great to enjoy when I come in town to see family. I wish they had chains in the DC area. Just a recommendation! ;)

Great service and great food tonight at J Alexander’s! We had a large party(12 and a little one in a booster seat) that could not be accommodated at Cheesecake Factory on a Sunday night @ 8 pm. Called J Alexander’s and they welcomed us with everything we needed. Wait staff was wonderful(thanks Kevin!) and we had a great family Christmas celebration! Will return to the Easton location soon.

Ok so when you come to a place such as J. Alexanders you kinda expect a certain level of quality & taste. I asked for medium rare prime rib and mine was hard and was like cutting into toast, not to mention super salty. The mash potatoes tasted like the generic box kind. I’m really saddened by this because I church this place up to my friends before going. Even though this is my 1st time here and all, the service is ok, I’ve had better at the Cracker Barrel. This place is so nice on the inside, I just don’t understand why the quality of food doesn’t meet the price /expectation ratio. For example, if a prime rib cost $ 28 it better taste like one. Not like a $ 7 one. I feel like I’m harsh on the 2 star rating. If I started with 5, the food knocked it down by two, the service and the fact my friend was here on her Birthday, I knocked it down one. Sorry J. Alexanders, you guys should be better than this.

If you have a party of 10+ do not come here. J Alexander’s cannot accommodate you, which is kinda of perplexing as this location is big enough to seat a party that large. We made reservations for 13 and was told we could not all sit together, but have 2 round tables next to each other, instead we had 3 siting at a booth, one square table for 4 and one round table for 6. After talking with the manager Brooke to see if she could better accommodate us seating wise we were unsuccessful. Several tables cleared out and still they could not get us with 2 tables. Now our party are sitting at 3 different tables we have different servers, so the big table got their drinks, appetizers and food 1st, 2nd table then got all their drinks, appetizers and food so guess where I was sitting? Last table to get served. By the time we got our food the 1st table was done. So, now that we are not all really happy with the seating arrangements Brooke did provide us each with a complimentary dessert. The food at J Alexander’s is really good, everyone seemed very please with their choices with the exception of our one vegan friend. J Alexander’s does provide an all veggie platter but it is prepared on the same grill with the meat so she was unable to eat anything from the menu. So, at the end we took our desserts to go and went someplace else that could accommodate all of us and enjoyed the rest of our night.

I’ve only visited this place once and that was for lunch. I fond it to be a striking place from a architectural standpoint. It’s a very modern and striking building. I was immediately impressed with the layout and the dining options that were available. I ordered a simple club sandwich that was served with shoestring fries that was aesthetically pleasing. There are very clean designs and very neat throughout. I’ve definitely decided that I’d like to visit this place again and plan on doing so soon.

Went to the new J. Alexander at the easton location. As far as décor it was well done. Food… just ok. Here is why. I ordered a flatbread and a cosmopolitan my daughter had the broccoli and cheese soup and salad. The soup tasted like it was out of a can so my daughter did not eat it. The waitress noticed it and even asked«you don’t like your soup» my daughter told her no. She never offered to exchange it or take it off the bill but instead asked us if we wanted to box it and take it home. Hmmm as if it would all of a sudden be good at home. Our cosmopolitans were horrible and when we complained I was told they were supposed to be strong. I am a firm believer that a great restaurant has a combination of great food and great drinks. This $ 55 bill had me dissatisfied and I will spend my money more wisely next time. #skippingjalexanders

So I went last night kinda close to closing but I must admit, the ambiance of the restaurant was so calming. I walked in with my godbrother and our hostess was also our waitress. I can remember her name but her smile was definitely something to remember. She sat us at our table and gave us a few moments to loom over the menu. We ordered drinks right away which were superb. I ordered black beans and rice which was so good that it was so close to my creole mother’s. My godbrother had the salmon dip which was really good. We were going to get ye carrot cake but the appetizers filled us up. We weren’t very hungry but those appetizers were belly fillers. Jazz music was playing in the background and being a musician, you know I love that!!! The atmosphere was chill mode and soothing. Very classy and nice service. I’ll be back to this location.

Great first experience. This location is easy to access and plenty of parking nearby. The outward design of the restaurant is beautiful. I was a little confused to find 2 TVs randomly placed in the middle of the restaurant and the seating areas were a mix of booths and tables. It reminds me of an upscale sportsbar. Besides the appearance we had an overall great experience. I read other reviews that were pretty harsh but I think the key to this restaurant is knowing what to order. I will say the steaks are hands down their specialty and I would put them up against the best, however, sushi and deviled eggs, not sure. The service was excellent and the timing of the food was spot on. We happily paid our large bill and made a commitment that we would come back again. By the way, that maui steak is to die for. It was a Ribeye cut that was perfectly cooked medium for my taste and it was buttery. Buttery, i mean fall apart and melt in your mouth. It was slightly sweet and savory for sure.

Wow, this J. Alexander’s location is a painful one in their chain. The atmosphere doesn’t feel like J. Alexander with their generic seating. Deviled Eggs: Yikes, these were served out of the refrigerator if I had to take a guess. Is there a bacon shortage that I’m not aware of? My deviled eggs had thinly cut bacon but was short 25−35% of the normal bacon portion at their Worthington location. Plus, the bacon was cold and hard to chew. The glaze was also non-existent. Prime Rib — thank goodness they got this reasonably right. The meat was tender and easy to cut, slightly dry and au jus became my sauce to saturate my meat. Bar is in the middle of the restaurant but just off the hostess stand. However, with the loud conversations, sports overhead, it took away from the classiness. In conclusion, J Alexander is a great restaurant but this can’t even measure to being a flagship location in Easton.

I was out disc golfing with a friend and we were in the mood for some high end food. Being the day after Xmas and around 6pm, and being in the Easton area, we decided to try the new J’s. I was quite surprised how busy this place was, no wait, hold that thought… Day after Xmas, people still shopping like mad, new restaurant… yeah, it was going to be busy no matter what so… They actually were able to seat us immediately, extra Kudos to them, after telling them we made no reservations(they did recommend making them next time). Our waitress seemed very well trained, but also quite new to the job. She was trying her best and doing a damn good job at it. Very polite and professional, we also had a few other staff stop by occasionally to make sure everything was good and okay without being intrusive. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Filet, served rare with a mega baked potato. The Tuna was incredible. There was some type of Aioli and some Toro sauce to go with it. The combination of all of these together was an explosion of about 8 different flavors that complimented each other. So wonderful and very delicious. My buddy ordered the Pork tenderloin, it was so good, he almost ordered a second order to take home, but ended up filling himself with some Crème brûlée instead. Love the interior, very nice a cozy.

4 ½ Stars for this place… I read Mike D’s review this morning which peeked my interest in visiting a J. Alex’s for the first time in many years. It’s a totally new restaurant at Easton, just completed and very nice. To get a mind picture about the look and feel, think Frank Lloyd Wright’s Falling Waters House meets contemporary lodge — in other words very open, warm and inviting. They have a very unique wrap around bar that sits in the center of the restaurant which is very cool. Their menu is not overwhelming and is in fact somewhat small and centered on steaks, sandwiches, small plates and some seafood items. Their wine list is also moderately sized and priced. From my past experience with other J. Alex’s, they are sticklers for excellence in food quality and presentation which was also the case here. I ordered the Grilled Cold Water Salmon and it was really good. The filet was perfect, cooked through but still very moist and tender. It was served with a house made aoili which was perfect for this dish. Esteban recommended Orzo & Wild Rice as the accompaniment but I couldn’t make up my mind so I did the eeny meeny method and chose the french fries which worked for me. By surprise, the french fries were shoestrings and they were really good while being presented in a very cool way. The service I received from Esteban was very good. He was attentive and polite as I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. He made a few recommendations for lunch which I appreciated. Kudos to him also for getting me 4 slices of lemon for my water instead of the usual one that most servers bring. Nice touch. I’d ask for him again without hesitation. The only thing I would really take points away from them for is the lack of two sides with my meal. I kept thinking that a little less potatoes but with some asparagus, steamed veggies… something green would have made this meal a little more complete. Other than that, it was a wonderful lunch in an attractive restaurant.
