I really like the food. It’s a strange combination of burgers, Italian food, barbecue, and gelato! The burgers are a sausage/beef mixture which is super tasty on the pretzel bun! The side of homemade chips are to die for with the sauce they serve. I’ve also had the pulled pork sandwich and pasta, which are great alternatives when I’m not in the mood for a burger. So many great choices is why I was disappointed to find they were closing early on a Friday night. I checked in as we pulled into a parking spot, but when we got to the door, we found out they were closing soon with no indication as to the reason. Bummer.

while not as good as it was when JB’s and Hoggys were each stand alone restaurants I will tip my hat to combining forces to keep both places alive. Each has a sample of what their menus used to be with what I would have to assume was their best sellers. Still very good food, only downfall for me is I loved the Gahanna JB’s location and living in New Albany this is quite a hike to get a great sandwich.

The best way to describe this place is «ehhhhh…» It leaves a lot to be desired. The burger was mediocre at best. And when you’re paying $ 10 for a burger it should be solid. The description of what it was made it sound epic and then it just makes you sad. Staff was friendly though and it’s a nice atmosphere.

My friend had told me about this place as she had been a couple of times before and really enjoyed the food. So we went late on a Saturday afternoon. We both were hungry for bbq so we ordered off the Hoggy’s menu. She had the brisket sandwich and fries and I got the pulled pork sandwich, red potato salad, and macaroni and cheese. My pulled pork sandwich honestly tasted like the bbq you can buy in the tubs at the grocery store. My mac and cheese was piping hot but was a bit bland. The red potato salad was good but was a bit tart with the dill seasoning. My friends fries were served fresh and hot and her brisket had a good taste. Portions are huge here so no complaints there as we both had to take food home. Service was friendly and restaurant was clean. Overall a pleasant experience.

We love this place! Great fresh chips and burgers are amazing with a little twist. Like coleslaw and onion rings on the Smokehouse burger. That’s my fave.

Poor experience all around. I ordered the Italian. It was a sad excuse for an Italian sandwich. Cold and the chips we soggy. Here’s where it gets worse. My girlfriend ordered a pulled pork sandwich and the Mac n cheese. May have been the worst Mac n cheese I’ve ever eaten. It was a terrible experience and I will never be going back. I would rarely if ever say this, but we had such a bad time I don’t think I could ever bring myself to do that again.

JBs is too expensive to be a regular sandwich stop but the grilled sandwiches are great. The steakhouse cheesesteak is a good, not-too-greasy sandwich that comes with bleu cheese(though not enough for my liking) and onion straws. I am disappointed they got rid of the shrimp po boy — it was very fresh. Pay the extra $ 1 to get the redskin potato salad. It has a creamy dill taste with bacon & cheese on the top. I don’t think of JBs as a wing place but the wings we ordered were the meatiest wings I’ve ever had. The skin had a nice crunch to them.

What is specific about this place? I really don’t know. Sandwich was pretty bad, bread sucked. Salad was out of box not fresh. Price expensive compared to the quality and taste of Di Bella’s… My first and will be last.

Solid place for soup, salad or a sandwich. Nothing great, but does the job. They are often on , which makes it a good value.

rude service. I was really disappointed when the employee looked irritated when I asked a questions. He ruined the order and then blamed me. The food was not bad but wasn’t amazing

I tend to agree with some other recent reviewers. It’s too bad the good-to-great food is going to get penalized for poor service. Every time we’ve been in, either the person taking our order acts like they’ve never heard the menu out loud before, or the order comes out all in pieces, or the beverage station is in all sorts of disarray. Prices are a little on the higher side for basically higher-end fast food. However, when you want quick but are tired of the Wendy’s-Chipotle-Panera route as you traverse Bethel, it’s still worth a stop for two things: The housemade loaded chips with bleu cheese and the awesome Italian sausage burger. I’m salivating a little thinking of it. It comes with a relish I was a little unsure of at first, but let me assure you, it’s red pepper and red onion deliciousness. Get it on the pretzel bun for full on decadence… at least this cheap date’s version of one.

Wow, there are a lot of 2-star reviews based on how this place used to be. I have no idea since I never went there until yesterday. The food was pretty decent. I got an «Original» Cheesesteak(not sure why they put it in quotes) with white American cheese. The steak was a-ok, served on a warm soft hoagie roll with lettuce and fresh roma tomato with roasted red peppers. Definitely original comared to a Philly cheesesteak, but a passable variation indeed. It was served with a ton of homemade chips that were pretty good compared to most places. Honestly, I’m not usually a fan of homemade chips, as they’re usually over done and too thick. My wife got potato and bacon soup and a half of an Italian sadwich. Not bad. Even though it’s a serve-yourself kind of place, our server got us our silverware and checked up on us. So that was pretty awesome. And the two of us ate for around $ 12, so the prices were pretty fair.

Its sad that I am giving a place that makes what I call ‘The best sandwhich I have ever had“only 3 stars but I’ll explain that later once I tell you about this sandwhich. Vito’s Steakhouse Cheesesteak comes with Bacon, Mushrooms, Crispy Fried Onions & Bleu Cheese. The bread has a cripsy outside and soft inside. I completely enjoy it every time. So why only 3 stars: It’s a bit pricey for what you get. The sandwhiches are large but the sides that cost an additional $ 2 are often skimpy. Add drinks to your meal and you are well over $ 20 for 2 people. I heard a rumor that they recently changed their chips so the last time I was there I just went with french fries because I wanted to avoid the disappointment if the rumor was true. It amazing me when restaurants dont realize they have something great. let’s hope its not true.

I think even the two stars I’m giving Johnny’s at this point is just because we used to like them so much and I feel bad dishing them a 1-star. My husband and I have ordered take out from here(and the Hamilton Rd location when we lived in Easton) for years and used to always be so happy with everything. When I worked near the airport, our office would love to do a Johnny’s lunch. Unfortunately, in the past year and a half or so, things have really gone down hill. Even before they changed the menu, the food was on a path to sub-par. Things that were supposed to be hot were cold… things that were supposed to be crispy were soggy, etc… THEN they had to go and change the menu. Prices have gone up while quality and options have gone down. They’ve botched our orders up a few times in the past year and since we don’t eat it till we get home, it’s not worth it to go back out and ask for a new order. I can forgive a mistake here or there but it seems to be a trend now. Two that come to my mind are the horribly undercooked hotdog and the grilled cheese pannini I got tonight: the bread was hard and the cheese was equally hard and cold. I actually put it in my toaster before I ate it and don’t plan on eating the other half. We don’t call ahead: my husband orders at the counter when he gets there, so there’s no reason for it to be cold… it never was a few years ago. So for menu changes and prices: they removed all the cold subs. Maybe they weren’t selling but I sure do miss the chicken salad sub. As I said, the prices have increased and they used to let you choose from a few different sides. The«standard» side was house-made chips with their awesome dip OR you could choose another side… so along with their price increases, you now have to pay extra for a side other than chips AND have to pay extra for the dip! Oh, and the chips tonight… thick slices of old cardboard. They used to be really thin and crispy, even good the next day… but I don’t even want these right from the restaurant tonight. The last nail in the coffin is the service. The past three times my husband has been there, he said he pretty much felt like he was a thorn in the cashier’s side. He’s not the type of guy to complain so if he says something like that, it’s the real deal. Sorry Johnny’s, but we’re done. Thanks for the memories. I’d probably give you just one star but that extra star is for good luck in hopes you’ll change. I know it ain’t cheap to run a restaurant, but if you’re going to increase your prices, your food and service better match.

From what I hear, this location isn’t as good as the Hamilton Rd. one — but hey, it’s the same restaurant so how much can they really differ? Anyway, I had the pick 2 with half a panini and their wedding soup. Umm… average? and pricey, I felt. It was pretty salty, and just a tiny bit. I looooove wedding soup, and this was very good, but I’ve certainly had better. The panini was lackluster… but the custard was delicious! It took us awhile to order, simply because the guy on the register was new. They had many different *types* of food to choose from, and seemed to lack a developed plan. And judging other reviews, it seems this place used to be pretty good. Maybe it’s the location? Surrounded by all these international eats, perhaps Bethel Rd dwellers are getting more experimental. Ehh… I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon(to this location, at least.) I wasn’t that impressed for the price.

Definitely going down hill. Used to have Mac n Cheese with sausage beef in it which WAS great. They now offer only kids Mac n Cheese. They won’t even put the meat in it if you ask for it. Service is slow. I’m there now. Waiting! Unhappy wife waiting at home is very disappointed. Boo to you, Johnny B!

I USED to like Johnny Buccelli’s. Started coming here a few years ago, but as the years have gone by, the Vito burger has gotten worse. It’s still an average burger at this point. BUT. At first they used to serve it with fries. Then they changed it to chips.(Which weren’t bad, they were the kettle kind.) And now? It’s JUST the burger. And the price has gone up. I understand it’s a hard economy, and restaurants are taking it rough, but seriously. Nothing to go with your burger? You have to pay two extra bucks? I make my burgers at home now.

Been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Their pasta and their burgers are both good for the price, considering that the portions are pretty large. I’ve not had their pizza but a friend of mine really likes it and keeps coming back for it. To be honest, there’s no dish here I love enough to crave or «keep coming back» for. It’s just in a convenient location from where I often run, the price is reasonable, it’s a lot of food, and it’s pretty tasty. You order at the counter and they call you up when it’s ready, which is never too long. So I sometimes go after I run. Gotta re-carb up =)

You can’t win me over with free lemon heads and fire balls. What kind of girl do you think I am? Well throw in sandwiches, cheese fries, custard AND free lemon heads and I guess you got me. Johnny B’s is a sandwich place. It’s ‘fast food’ but made to order. It’s the kinda place where you place your order, sit down and they call your name. Keeping all of those things in mind: I thought Johnny B’s was fantastic. I ordered the pulled pork which came topped with crispy friend onion straws and cole slaw. The pork had really nice flavor and the onion straws actually tasted fried to order or at a minimum very fresh. The bread was super soft and somehow did not get soggy even by the end of my messy sandwich. I got potato salad on the side which was made with large red skin potatoes and topped with shredded Cheddar cheese and bacon. The small size was about 6 inches but piled pretty high and plenty big. The boy ordered the Uncle Vitos steak sub which included crispy friend onions, blue cheese and mushrooms. I am picky about my steak subs and this one had what I consider to be that ‘fake’ steak taste. The boy liked it though and also enjoys the shrimp po boy and original cheese steak as well. I sampled the cheesy bacon ranch fries and they were A-OK and quite a large portion for 3 bucks when added to a sammy. Overall, the food was really good and I look forward to trying more on the menu. I especially enjoyed the little touches like a basket of lemon heads and fireballs for the taking and barqs red cream soda on tap. Check your expectations at the door. .. this is a chain sandwich place, when judging the comps, Jersey Mikes, Jason’s Deli, Pot Belly’s, Jimmy Johns etc, this place is at the top.
