This review is about the Volunteer Opportunities at LifeCare Alliance. I have volunteered here about a dozen times with Columbus Gives Back. The staff is always super friendly and you really feel like you make an impact. Giving a short hour and half or your time can go a long way at this vital community organization. For those unaware, LifeCare Alliance assists senior and ill members of the community in getting meals — largely through Meals-on-wheels programs. The volunteer work at LifeCare Alliance is often the pre-work for Meals-on-wheels. Jobs often include sorting pre-packaged bread, crackers, fruit and cookies into individual containers. This facility feeds literally tens of thousands of people every week. If you have time, give back to Columbus! Columbus Gives Back volunteers at this facility on the first and fourth Mondays of every month.

Such a vital part of the Columbus community. LA assists older or chronically ill adults through a wide-range of programs to help them stay independent in the comfort of their own homes or the community. One of my favorite, and more recent, offerings of Lifecare is Carrie’s Café, which offers an assortment of tasty, affordable lunch items Monday through Friday from 11am to 2pm. IT’S OPENTOTHEPUBLIC! Patrons over 60 are able to order«Carrie’s Combo» for the suggested contribution of $ 1.50. The goal is to provide good service, without judgment or mistreatment, to older adults. I bet you didn’t even know some of these programs were part of LA: Meals-on-Wheels, Columbus Cancer Clinic, Project OpenHand-Columbus, Visiting Nurse Association, Senior Dining Centers, Senior Wellness Centers, Help-at-Home and Groceries-to-Go. Overall, a wonderful organization to get involved with and give a little something back.
