Great food and even better service. As others reviewer noted, basically it’s a Chipotle style setup with sushi ingredients. High quality ingredients too! The owner and workers are always smiling and willing to walk customers through the menu options.

Great place for quick lunch. Always good food and friendly service. Rolls are good but bowls are better.

The idea of a sushi roll being the size of a burrito is very appealing, so I made it a point to come to this place. This wasn’t easy to do being that the hours of this place revolves around regular downtown business hours. Expand your hours, dagnabbit! First time I was here, the worker walked me through everything and since I couldn’t decide btw tuna or salmon for my roll, he said he could do half and half so i could taste both, which was perfect. I was really impressed with the customer service. Taste wise, I was pretty happy. It was $ 8-$ 9 for a giant sushi roll with real fish, which is pretty hard to beat. I want to bring my bf to this place but it’s hard to with the limited hours.

I’ve always seen pictures of sushirittos that seem to be in California but when I found this place on Unilocal by accident, I knew I had to come here. I figured it would be busy during lunch time since it’s located right in the heart of downtown. Parking was a little complex, but then again, parking in downtown is always complex. I decided to get the sushiritto with seaweed wrap, white rice, salmon, cucumber, avocado, spinach, panko, spicy mayo, and Sriracha. I’ve worked in a sushi restaurant before so I know sushi and their products inside out. Everything is so fresh here! I especially loved the panko because it’s their personal seasoning and touch on it. The only downfall was that I didn’t get as much sauce as I wanted to but next time I’ll remember to ask for extra. My boyfriend got the sushi bowl and added pico de gallo and the jalepeño salsa and that was super good too. I definitely recommend this place and you definitely get your bang for the buck!

YES! THANKYOU UnilocalGODSFORFINALLYLEADINGMEINTHERIGHTDIRECTIONONCEAGAIN. I’ve been thrown off with a couple of reviews here in Columbus, Ohio as not that many people Unilocal here as I expected. THEGOOD:(ALLCAPSCAUSE I’M EXCITEDTOLEAVEMYTHOUGHTSABOUTTHISPLACE) the service: beyond amazing. Jack? who I believe is the owner, was there to serve me on multiple occasions that I have visited. He was so friendly and surpassed my expectations with more than just a warm welcome. He explained thoroughly of what this place was all about(much like Sushirito in San Fran) not only that, but also offered a realm of other food places to try. Very humbling to see that from a food business owner. THANKSFORALLTHETIPSFROMONEFOODIETOANOTHER. MUCHLOVE. the quality/food: both visits, I ordered the bowl as it is veggie packed! Plenty of options from pico de gallo to spinach to their pineapple jalepenos,(my fav). Also, the quality of the fresh fish has trumped on many other places that I have tried. HOMEMADESAUCESARETHEBOMB.COM. There’s maybe about 5 sauces that Jack packed for me to go home and try. He’s quite proud of these since he’s worked hard to perfect them. — Maki Go sauce is my personal fav. Visual: the bowl is pretty packing with the bottom bed of rice with the array of sliced fresh fish hugging the sides and their veggies in the middle. Eyegasm. Oh, but the burrito would be much more Insta-worthy. The bad: dun dun dun… Location: situated in the middle of downtown on a street, this little gem is hard to find and easy to miss. Hours: Y U NOSERVELONGERHOURS? its tough being a college student and finding the right time to get my sushi fix at this hidden gem.

Great addition to downtown Cbus for lunch. I had lunch there yesterday. I loved being able to choose my options. The staff was very helpful. I am pretty new to sushi. :) I had the coca cola steak with a sesame seed wrap, a few veggies, their Maki sauce and ginger/soy sauce. It was so good!!! I will be back! :)

Love this place! First of all, the service is really great. They guide you through the line of ingredients which is all fresh and all the sauces are made in house. First you choose the from the wraps or a bowl, rice, and then the meat(you can mix and match). There is a wide variety of veggies, toppings, and sauces to add to your wrap. The salmon I got melted in my mouth and the sweet and tangy sauce I got on top was the perfect flavor to bring everything together. I’m happy I found a place that satisfies my sushi cravings for a reasonable cost and doesn’t leave me starving shortly after.

Love this place! Vegan option includes tofu and sweet potatoes. They will change their gloves for you(as raw fish is also being handled). Get all the toppings — especially the pineapple jalapeño salsa and the crunchy panko! Yum! It’s addicting.

Great addition to downtown. I enjoy the new trend in these quick casual places. Especially because they guide you the entire way. This is basically a Sushi Wrap… made fresh… cut in half and eaten like a smaller burrito. The tuna I had was really fresh and the choices of add ons and sauces are stellar. Highly recommend. They ARE open on Saturday during the day so go there then! I spoke to the owner of the place about the revitalization of Downtown Columbus and how I wish more places were open on the weekend. Someone has to take the plunge to start the trend and get people down there during the week and on weeknights. But I understand the money involved in being the start of all that. That being said GO to downtown Columbus and spend money at the places that are open to make it worth if for them. .

Maki go! I wish you lived in Cincinnati, conveniently located across the street from my office so that during lunch time I could put you in my belly. But alas, you are far far away. So I guess I will have to make regular trips up north to partake in your deliciousness as much as possible. First of all, the ingredients are super fresh. No fishy-fish sub-par sushi here! Secondly, what a concept. I have been saying for years now that sushi should be available in a burrito-esque format — and my dreams are finally becoming a reality! Maki go! offers a variety of additions to your personalized sushi roll, including(but not limited to) cream cheese, crab salad, cucumber, carrots, pineapple serano, panko). Oh and the sauce. THESAUCE! Wasabi and mayo? Plus three more options that are melt in your mouth f’amazing. They also have non-fish options available for you weirdos who don’t like sushi including steak, chicken and vegetarian(tofu and sweet potato). Oh yeah, and the prices are PHENOMENAL(7 – 9 dollars whaaaaaaaat!?) for something that will totally fill you up. In addition to their rolls, they have some side options(seaweed salad/edamame) and drinks in the can/bottle. I was super stoked to see more authentic asian-style drinks. My green tea was the perfect beverage to accompany my noms 5-star sushi roll. Lastly, the décor is super adorbs. Chalk drawings on the entry wall, with a very colorful and neatly displayed chalk menu board at the front. And the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and 100% committed to making your experience a pleasant one!

As visitors in Columbus, Maki Go! was definitely worth the walk from the«Short North» area. Jack was really great– he was friendly and sushi-smart. This style of ordering sushi is different, so we were very open to suggestion. All we asked was for something spicy. Jack suggested the tuna(which was absolutely delicious), spinach, cucumber, pico de gallo… and whatever else he tossed in there. We were pleasantly and happily surprised; the roll had just enough bite to not be overwhelming, the spinach provided an earthy taste, and the cucumber added crunch. I recommend being open to suggestions, especially for particular pairings and ingredients.

First, a disclaimer: I am not a fan of all these new Chipotle-style, lazy restauranteur, «hey I’ve got some ingredients on this side of the glass, so you tell me what to do with them» businesses. It really takes the chef right out of the restaurant and leaves us to only review the ingredients(because if the food combo tastes like crap, it’s my own fault!) Okay, deep, cleansing breath… I do love sushi and an affordable place to grab a quick roll for the desk at lunch is a fantastic addition to downtown. On the raw side of fish, maki go! really only offers up tuna(smoked salmon available too). A larger selection would be nice, but the absence of it is understandable. The tuna did taste very fresh. I had it in a sea weed roll with green onion, avocado and the wasabi sauce. The taste was very fresh and good. To produce a nice thick roll, they are pretty heavy-handed on the rice(a drawback, for me). Like other Unilocalers, I found the single cut roll to be a bit difficult to eat(biting through the sea weed produced the toothpaste tube effect with all the innards attempting a hasty escape out the other end of the roll). But, hey, lots of good foods are messy. In short — maki go! is welcomed addition to the downtown lunch scene if you like quick and affordable sushi. The ingredients are all very fresh and they are what YOU make of them.

My new favorite stop for downtown lunch! We stopped by shortly after they opened when there were only a handful of people inside and fell in love. It has gotten a lot busier even though they still do not have a proper sign and there is often a short line to order. It moves quick, but be careful not to lean against the wall or you may end up taking the cute chalk drawings back to the office with you on your shoulders. Sure, everyone is jumping on the chipotle style custom order bandwagon, but I’m not complaining. With ingredients this fresh and tasty, who could? You can order a sushi wrap(seaweed or soy) or a bowl. So many choices! The tuna is my favorite, with Scottish salmon coming in second. They also have tofu for the veggies in your group and chicken or beef for those who don’t care for seafood. You can pick your toppings and sauces then it is rolled into the biggest sushi roll you have ever seen. It is cut only once on the bias, which works better than pieces given the size of the roll. The prices are based on the proteins and range between $ 7 – 9. Not the least expensive lunch you can get downtown but definitely worth the quality of the ingredients.

Very fresh! I got the salmon w seaweed wrap, cucumber, pico and spicy mayo! Ingredients are very fresh. Miso soup is very savory and light. The environment is very energetic, and the staff is fast and courteous. Glad we finally have a sushi place on the square to add to the diversity of that block. It’s a nice mix in with arepazo and the other ethnic cuisine available within walking distance of One Columbus.

This place was great! Finally, good sushi for the downtown lunch crowd. Ingredients were very fresh(had the tuna) and high quality. I was a bit intimidated by all of the selection choices at first but the staff was very helpful and super friendly. I thought one roll wouldn’t be very filling but it was more than enough for lunch once I added all of the veggies and sauce. Also, had the miso soup which was pretty good… well seasoned, not overly salty. The only thing I would have changed would be to add more tofu. Excited to add this to one of my regular lunch spots!

The concept of this place is great and is a nice alternative to all the deli soups, salads and sandwiches downtown. The rolls are satisfying but not heavy and it’s all relatively healthy(low on carbs, fats, et al.) It even has vegan options without needing to advertise it. The prices are reasonable for the convenience and the quality. If the fish were any cheaper, I think I’d actually be skeptical about consuming it. The most reasonably priced cup of miso in town. Service was great and personable without being too pushy or needy, considering we were the only ones in line during a late lunch hour. Can’t wait to go back.

Had the tuna, which was really good quality. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. For the convenience and customizable factor it really is pretty good. My biggest problem is that they only cut the roll in half, so it ends up like a burrito. I’m no sushi expert but to me this seems like sacrilege. It also makes it incredibly annoying to eat where by the end you have stuff spilling out of the back end, sides etc. If I decide to go back I am definitely going to ask them to cut the sushi traditionally into more pieces. Overall, it is good quality and reasonably convenient sushi, and customizable. However, it doesn’t come close in comparison to what you would get at a non fast casual sushi place for the same price per roll. I may give it another shot, it was just OK for me. A little better quality than Fusian(which just opened on campus, but still nothing in comparison to Tai’s or Sushi Ting, Sushi Rock etc.

Finally — sushi in the capital square area. This business-centered area has been booming with new business recently, but this new sushi bar is a welcome addition. It’s a pretty easy concept: chipotle style sushi. I stopped in during the soft open and tried their limited menu. The sushi roll I had was good — the fish(tuna) tasted incredibly fresh, and had a nice firm texture. The sushi rice was also good, with that nice chewiness you expect. Next time I’ll add in some more extras, like sauces and more vegetables to pump up the flavor. The roll was only cut once, making it more of a handroll, but that worked out fine. The miso soup I tried was really tasty, with a deep flavor and just-right texture. Probably some of the best miso soup I’ve had in town. Seating looks to be limited, but available, and there’s plenty of options for non-fish or non-meat eaters. The staff are super friendly, genuinely excited to be in their new space. I’ll definitely be back.
