Excellent Chinese at a good price. Nothing I’ve had there is disappointing. I always order takeout since I live close by. When I don’t feel like going out for some good this is where I order from.

«Asian Wok» is the new name of the former Ming’s Chinese Restaurant, and I called them last night to see if they had re-opened from their renovation, or whatever it was that had them closed this past winter. First thing’s first: the food is delicious and the quality is a marked improvement over the previous food. The menu appears to be essentially the same — great prices! — but everything from plating/packaging to the ingredients themselves are much better than they were before. We ordered takeout — they use nice, reusable plastic containers with lids now, instead of styrofoam clamshells. The chicken used in General Tso’s, Orange, Sesame, etc. is high-quality thigh meat, which is very flavorful. The shrimp and vegetables in the Dragon & Phoenix were really nice looking; fresh; perfectly cooked(vegetables still crisp; shrimp still tender). I am very impressed with the new food and am looking forward to ordering from here more regularly now that I know how good the food is!

The food is honestly pretty good but the dining room is very small. This place is shutting down soon. The cashier told me

Good sesame chicken! It’s tasty if you don’t have too high of expectations — it’s just cheap Chinese food. They have delivery too, which is really convenient

I usually don’t give restaurants one star because there’s usually one good thing about them. However, I can’t say the same for this restaurant. Me & a coworker ordered from here since they deliver and we were really wanting Chinese food. First, ordering on the internet site was a pain in the a**. Second, my food was terrible. I got a chicken egg roll and wonton soup both of which were WAY over seasoned. I’m pretty sure the chef is in love with pepper and, what tasted like, ginger. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. My coworker got the orange chicken and said it was«average». Sorry, but I won’t order from here again.

There goes another $ 28. We used to love this place, but the last six months or so we’ve been extremely disappointed. The crab rangoon is still amazing but that wasn’t enough to save this place on our list. My husband’s sweet and sour chicken was bland and the chicken was small and chewy. I tried a different tofu dish hoping for the best and got soggy breaded tasteless tofu in a boring not-so-spicy sauce. Neither dish came with more than a small piece of a vegetable for decoration. Worst part, we didn’t even get fortune cookies tonight. Sorry Mings, there won’t be a next time for us.

As a Chinese, I have to say that their secret menu is so authentic! The baozi is just like what I had in China.

Very disappointed and unfortunately the only place that delivers near me. The sweet and sour chicken was more like chicken poppers, the sauce for the pot stickers was mostly oil, the crab rangoon was over cooked and I’m kind of leaning to throwing out the general tso chicken as a waste of time/money. Most definitely NOT calling them again!

This was so disappointing. Every time I eat here I’m left slightly disgusted the quality and flavor of the food. It is cheap, but the meat was half gristle so you get what you pay for. I decided to give it another chance because its the only Chinese place that delivers to me(with a three dollar charge) and I was unable to travel. Not worth it, I will definitely not eat here again.

I read the reviews and was stoked that they deliver in my area so I decided to order a fab lunch special from them the other day and due to all the raves for their crab rangoons(one of my faves) I ordered a small of them too. I give Mings 5 stars for cleanliness and I am basing that on the womens restroom. The older Asian lady that took my order was very friendly, sweet, and was tickled pink when I told her that everyone on Unilocal is raving about her crab rangoons. I got my usual for a first time visit which is general tso and I did the 5.95 deal. I then took my honey and my dog to the park for a lovely lunch. Crab Rangoons are ok, but are not the best I have ever had so I am not sure what people are rating them on, if it’s the size then ya they are a tad bigger then other places. The filling is pretty much standard across the board of Chinese restraunts and that is it is mainly just cream cheese. The egg roll is different from other places as they sorta chop their cabbage not shred it, but it is still a good egg roll. Now for the General Tso… Ming’s wins the spiciest General Tso I have had in Cbus, but where is the sweetness, there is no sweetness at all and that is weirder then the folx that make it too sweet and no spice. The pieces of chicken were nice, juicy, plump and tasty, but they need to work on the sweet and spicy, lol Their fried rice has no flavor, no veggies mixed in, it is dry and not an ounce of real flavor going on in there. Would do them good to order some Peking house on the DL just to savor the flavor of their fried rice. My favorite place is still Peking house on Broad, but Mings delivers and I will be giving them many more chances to make me a fan :)

Just found out the ownership has changed(says Donnie). Explains why the food is all of a sudden terrible. House rice is mush-like. Have been ordering at least twice a month for years. Not anymore. Donnie charged our Debit card 17.97(per bank) but claimed he didnt receive the money and refused to fill the order. This saddens us because the previous people treated us like kings.(older white gentlemen and young asian lady) Hate to see them go. Donnie should learn some math skills. At least 60.00 per month given up for 17.97? How smart is that?
Great lunch specials for only $ 5.95! You know I love me some deals and this place is on my list of places for a cheap but good lunch. Portions are decent which makes it a great value. When you pull up, you will probably second guess your decision to eat here, but inside? Nice. Not fancy, but nice. They’ve redone it from the last time I was here(4 or so years ago when I would have given it 2 stars at best). The new owners have a nice west side restaurant here with a great lunch special which give you one of about 20 choices for your entrée, choice of steamed or fried rice, and either a bowl of soup, an egg roll or two crab rangoons. It’s a deal and the food is pretty good. I got the Hot and Sour Soup — 3 stars and the Kung Pao Chicken — 4 stars. Service was very attentive and the food came out quickly hot off the wok. Ming’s is back on my list of places to go to.

Ming’s has the best egg rolls — hands down. This is my family’s go to place, as it has something everyone likes. I usually get an order of Chicken Fried Rice & two egg rolls. I’m not a fan of seafood, but the Mermaid’s Dream is really delicious(:

Good food, good price, and terrific location for Hilltop residents. What more need I say? We had sesame chicken, garlic pork, and black pepper beef — all good. The crab rangoon were better than any others I’ve had.

We just did this place for carryout lunch today and I’m very impressed, big thanks to Sarah B because her review convinced us to try it out. Place looks ghetto as hell from the outside but is very clean inside. Food quality was excellent, lunch portions seemed small but were actually very filling. They also use high grade plastic forks and reusable containers. Seems trivial but it makes a big difference.

The restaurant is now under new management, and a great deal has changed — including the menu. It’s a real shame, as the original menu and flavors were rather spectacular. Unfortunately, things seem to have taken a turn for the«middle» since the place changed hands. The food is still worth buying, but I no longer feel giddy when ordering. Definitely give the place a chance, however. As far as Chinese on the West Side goes, it still doesn’t get much better than Ming’s.
