Read a previous Unilocal review and decided to come and give the soul food buffet a try. We arrived right as they were opening and found a variety of items from green beans, pinto beans to smothered chicken and fried fish. The atmosphere is quaint and has a stage for performances from music, entertainment and poetry… The smothered chicken is a must try and the fried fish and chicken were excellent, crispy and perfectly fried like mom used to make. The owner was a fantastic host! I will definitely be back again not only for some food but entertainment as well!

Being from California I always try and find these hidden gems. I found it. Kwojo was welcoming the second we walked in. The buffet of all the classic soul foods was made fresh. The food and atmosphere was absolutely perfect. Would recommend to any one looking to get out of the chain restaurant world. Buffet tues thru Saturday.

I’ve been to New Harvest Café a lot in this past second part of 2014 since I found out about it thru a good friend. So, I decided to take a friend and than I brought more friends and than I would come alone. Kojo is the owner and chef. His food is my favorite when it comes to soul food in Columbus. its well cooked, well seasoned, and very delicious. it’s tucked away in a side street in the up and coming Linden area. From fried fish to mac and cheese and to his turkey lasagna. Friday’s are literally my favorite at his place and it’s eat to enjoy not eat all you can as he holds a special every Friday. Not advertised as an buffet but this is a chance to see him display almost all of his menu as a serve yourself style for $ 10. So it gives you a chance to try a little here and there. But don’t be abusive of it just take what can eat and enjoy yourself. There is always nice music playing and nice people around the city with lots of character. I enjoy talking to Kojo he’s a really humble person and hard working. I respect local independent business. So I will continue to support him.

I visited Columbus inn 2010 and went to New Harvest Café for lunch and ate there every day during my visit. The food was incredible as well as the atmosphere. While visiting I attended a stage play Smothered chicken and that experience changed my life. The actors and the level of professionalism encouraged me to tap into my God given talent to write a stage production Battered but not Broken and gave me the opportunity to work with some of the Greats in the Business. I am looking forward to going back to Columbus in October 2013 to present this phenomenal production. Thanks Kwodjoe for the incredible cuisine and career change.

In the heart of the LInden Area. They have got a good thing going. They grow some of their own vegetables and herbs, have music on the weekends, and in general are a neighborhood gathering place. Plus, they are working hard to improve. We went for lunch on a Groupon. I had the paper print out, but he wouldn’t use that, he wanted the electronic version and my app wouldn’t load. Next time I’ll be more prepared, and hopefully so will the restaurant. I’ll agree portions are small and served in foam boxes. That’s ok with me, the food was really tasty. We enjoyed the atmosphere, and yes, it was very crowded on my day. We’ll be back to see how they improve. The owner is a mover and shaker in the neighborhood.

Hmm… I don’t know why previous reviewers never mentioned the food portion that they serve. My friend and I went there recently using a Groupon coupon. The food portion of a dinner entrée(normally costs $ 8.50) is in small kids-meal size(served in the smallest-sized disposable takeout box when dining in). Certainly not enough to feed adult lady customers(not to mention guys). For example, I got the smothered chicken, although tasty, in that small takeout box, there’s only one piece of chicken breast and a little bit of rice. My friend got the beef and potato(not listed on the menu) — five or six small pieces of potato and beef slices only enough to feed a small kid. My friend and I finished our dinner within 6 minutes and nothing left to eat. We had to pay extra for sides and for water(because they don’t serve tap water so you have to buy bottled water). I don’t know whether the serving portion is for Groupon users only or the same for other regular customers — if so, then the actual serving certainly doesn’t match up to its value.

I went into the New Harvest Café and the music that was being played had a good vibe. I spoke to a man by the name of Kwojo and he was a cool dude. I ordered the turkey meatloaf with collard greens and mac-n-cheese along with two drinks for a grand total of $ 8.00. My drinks were a faygo orange pop and a Nestle bottled water. Kwojo didn’t charge me for the bottled water which was a blessing. Furthermore, the turkey meatloaf was delicious and it was a big portion. I plan on going back real soon!!!

Based on the review from Keith M. and the fact that I’m not all that far from it, I went over for an early dinner. I was met by the owner«Kojo», who took my order and did everythng including bringing my dinner. I got three pieces of fish, mac & cheese, the stewed greens(great!) and below all that was a very large order of rice. It was sort of like jambalaya without the meat. Kojo even threw in a bottle of water. Everything was great, especially the rice. I’m looking forward t my next trip.

Wow, I can’t believe I’m the first; I just assumed I was a latecomer since this place has been around for years, but whatever. More Columbusites need to visit Linden and this place is one of the most compelling reasons to do so. There is a very nice interior and the there is even a garden in the back where vegetables are grown and used in the kitchen here. The owner Kwodwo(pronounced«Kojo») is very personable and more than willing to chat about his approach to food, his passion for improving the neighborhood, and whatever else is on your mind. I got the meatloaf(turkey) with a side of greens from the garden and a bowl of damn soup(that’s what it’s called). The meatloaf was moist and flavorful with green and red peppers, the greens were tasty and slightly sweet, and the soup was rich with chicken, fresh vegetables, and rice. A satisfying, filling meal and a good conversation ran me just $ 7. There are also plays hosted there, poetry, art, etc, with more info at the website. I know I’ll be heading back.
