I’ve been to this little store many times during Ohayocon. It’s fun to browse through their items to pass the time. They have many novelty gifts and toys. Another thing is that they have some unusual snack flavors that I haven’t commonly seen — the last time I went I saw some ketchup and guacamole chips. The last time I saw ketchup chips before this was when I visited Canada over 10 years ago. It’s nice to be able to buy some fun snacks to carry with you to panels. They are pretty overpriced though. I was looking for a cheap alternative to the food court so I checked out their sandwiches and they cost more than the sandwiches at Subway which is only a few steps away. The Subway sandwiches are bigger for the price too. I’m not sure who is buying these overpriced sandwiches when many alternatives are so close by, but it was disappointing. It’s not like the food court food is any less portable either, so you’re not paying for the convenience. All in all, it’s definitely worth a stop by if you’re staying in the convention center, but probably not some place you would go out of your way to visit.

This is a little interesting of a place to go to. I know it’s located inside the Convention Center, but it reminded me of a mall on its last leg. There were other store fronts around, but a majority of them were closed or empty. As for the store itself, it’s on the smallish side. There are lots of different items to be had. Much like the other review here, it is travel sized items for hotel goers to pick up because they forget them. And yes, some of the prices are jacked up. For chapstick, I easily paid two and a half times what it would have been elsewhere. There are also souvenirs in here to be had, the kitschy items you might find at a roadside stop. But with there not being a corner market or gas station close by, this is your best(albeit not cheapest) place to stop at. *Easiest access for hotel goers for the Hyatt and Drury.

The primary objective of this Nielsen’s Convenience store is to sell overpriced travel sized crap to people staying at the hyatt hotel attached to the convention center. That’s why it’s the closest store to the hyatt’s lobby. They have a small selection similar to what you’d find at a small gas station. Their hours of operation are usually 9am-10pm daily to serve the hotel.
