Nice stop for a quick lunch. First time there so ordered a gyro with fries. I love gyros! Not so much this one. It looked great, crunchy onions, feta cheese, sauce, some lettuce and melt in your mouth gyro meat. But there was an additional item I was not expecting… tons of salt! The salt overpowered what would have been a great gyro. It was so salty I couldn’t finish. Very disappointing. I love Mediterranean cuisine and saw many things on the menu to try, but am hesitant. The wait staff was great and there’s a neat patio. Hope this was a one time problem.

Always have to grab a carry out when I have friends or family visit from out of town. Haven’t tried anything other than their gyros and falafel but we have always been more than satisfied!

I love this place. I have had the fish gyro w/fries and the Greek salad w/grouper, both are awesome. The big baklava slices are excellent. I really enjoy sitting on the patio watching soccer games on the projection screen.

As one who had not previously tried Greek food in many years, I am sad to say that it may be awhile before I try again. Finally having stopped in to check this place out, I was disappointed by the taste of the food, the price, and even the rude customers seated in the establishment.(granted, that last item is NOT the fault of anyone working there) The«traditional» food items I sampled, and the fries– they were incredibly salty which is a big no-no for people with high blood pressure. I should have said something about that beforehand, I admit… but when food is THAT salty it makes me think they just heated up some frozen stuff. Nothing I had seemed good for the price, but the individual who took my order was nice enough. I have no problems with the attitude of those who served me– just the food and pricing. Giving three stars, since I do not really know enough about Greek food to speak with authority about the subject. I have only this one experience to go on… perhaps someone could suggest other places for me to try? :-) I may wait awhile then check back in and order something different.

The food is good for the price. I only go when there’s warm weather because I like the outdoor dining area. Friendly staff and convenient location. My go-to are the gyro platter and greek salad.

The Fish Gyro is fantastic. I recommend trying the dolmathes as well, great flavor. Restaurant is always clean, and the people are nice. I recommend this place to anyone in the area or just looking to try something new or different.

Best gyros in town, and lemon chicken soup is great. Very friendly staff. Food quality is very reliable and very fresh. My wife and I have been frequent patrons for 3 years.

Only reason this isn’t a five star review is because they don’t use reusable dishes! The food is so good, but they serve the food on paper plates and plastic utensils. Please use reusable plates and utensils for the sake of the environment. The ambiance is high quality on the inside, don’t judge it by the outside.

I typed up a lengthy review of this place, and filed it under the wrong restaurant. Oops. [That review has been removed by me.] Long story short, Panini Opa has good food, but the preparation is slow(10+ minutes for a gyro and fries on last visit), and so you will have to decide whether this is an acceptable wait for good casual food. It is not the cheapest alternative either. Price: $ 9 for a souvlaki gyro and fries. Location: Limited seating, definitely not for groups of 4+ if eating in.

I was very disappointed. I’ve been eating food prepared by Laura(Greek Corner and then Panini Opa) for years. Last night, I stopped on my way home for a carry out. it was not her usual delicious food. I arrived home in less than 15 minutes, the food was still very hot, I DIDNOT warm it up. HOWEVER —The food was overcooked, dry and of very poor quality. I put it down the disposal. It was not edible… Even more disappointing when I called Panini Opa today and told them, they said they were sorry, end of story. No come on back, let’s try again, no offer of a discount or a free dinner the next time, just a very week I’m sorry. Guess it’s time to end a long standing relationship.

I’m starting to think the interesting places for food in Columbus are in NW, where little gems can flourish amid all of the generic chain restaurants. This place is a good example, built in a repurposed fast food restaurant and serving Greek and Italian street food. It’s not heavy on ambiance, given that you eat with plastic cookware, but the food is good, and what’s more the portions are generous. I went with the Pasticio and almost had to be carried out of the building.

I’ve eaten here twice, my new minimum for a Unilocal review. If your interested in a great gyro, greek salad, or chicken lemon soup… by all means… EATHERE. If ambiance, wait staff and metal flat ware are more important than the food… THENDON’T. I haven’t eaten at any of the other local Greek restaurants like many other reviewers here but I have eaten a many outside the Columbus area(mainly Cincinnati, Sarasota, and Naples FL) and the food here is outstanding. It’s worth a try. I’ll be a regular.

Food was excellent. My daughter had souvlaki with tender flavorful pork, garlic sauce, and fresh tomatoes, onion and lettuce in a pita. She really enjoyed it. The lemon potatoes were OK but we didn’t love them I had the fish pita with some delicious grouper in a spicy feta sauce, tomatoes, onion lettuce, and banana peppers. It was excellent and unique. The fries were hit, crispy, and slightly seasoned. Very good My only minor complaint was the pitas weren’t grilled to be both slightly chewy and crispy. At least that’s how i like them. But they were slightly warmed and ok. I would have preferred to give 4.5 stars but that wasn’t an option. I read some complaints here about the counter service but I thought it was fine. As for all the lettuce they use you can take it off if you like and there still a lot of great food underneath.

Our first visit to PO can be summed up with one word: unsatisfying. My husband and I could not stop thinking we had wasted $ 30 on a meal and should have gone elsewhere. Actually we tried to go elsewhere before we arrived. 101 Beer Kitchen had an hour wait, and there was also a wait at Cuco’s. We had passed PO on our route, and thought we would go back there, so we handed the pager back and left Cuco’s. At PO, you order at the counter, sit, and pick up your order when they call your name. We were greeted and handed menus, then sat at a table to decide. We went back to the counter, ordered and paid. I got a glass of white wine from an individual bottle that was displayed on the case by the register, and the counter lady poured it into a wine glass. I’m unsure why they sell these smaller bottles at all, when they have normal bottles of wine. My husband got an iced tea from a self-serve dispenser. His drink was included with his gyro platter that also came with fries or lemon potatoes. He chose the lemon potatoes, which were the best part of the meal. He gave me a taste, and another taste. Really good. His spicy gyro was just okay, he said, and their idea of spicy is adding hot sauce to it. My Venus Shrimp Pasta sounded really good on the menu and looked pretty good. I just didn’t like it. The flavor didn’t do it for me, and it ticked me off they didn’t take the tails off the shrimp. It made it kind of awkward to eat. I ate part of it, and brought it home. When I tried to eat the leftovers today, it was, again, unsatisfying. There are so many better Greek restaurants in Columbus that I can’t see ever returning. I“m not sure why people like it, but it became quite busy after we arrived.

Panini Opa sadly just did not do it for me. The building and renovations Panini Opa has brought this this often sultry corner of Sawmill is really nice. Their outdoor patio would be great with a nice glass of wine I suppose. I will echo the cries that this place is in dire need of a menu board. Walking to the counter, and picking up a menu is just downright awkward. We felt a little rushed too by the person working the counter. There really wasn’t much helpfulness to be honest. I settled with the Spicy Gyro sandwich and side of fries. So, you grab a seat after ordering, and you have to go pick up your order when your name is called. What was a little bothersome to me was the fact that I saw people from the counter bringing dishes out to customers who came in after us. So… what exactly made them so much special that they now got wait service, while us peons had to get up and get our food at the counter? The Gyro was not totally terrible, but it was just not one of my favorites. It had a nice zest and spice to it, and it was a large gyro by all means. It felt like a lot of lettuce, onion and tomato, filler though when it came to the actual… well. gyro meat. The fries were of standard fries you can grab at most Greek places. Pricing is of the moderate end. A Gyro Sandwich with fries, drink, and a piece of Baklava will set you back close to $ 14. Sorry, Panini Opa… I’ve just had better is all.
