Worst gyro I’ve had. Ranch dressing instead of Tzadziki, are you kidding me? Cold pita bread and who puts lettuce on a gyro? Every table and chair in here is dirty. Spider webs in the windows. My first and last time. Opa!

Been here a few times– Fries taste old and stale. Gyro meat looks odd while on the spit, and is low quality. One of the gyros was lukewarm. Lettuce is always kind of brown and a bit soggy. Just not that good.

6 out of 5!!! Went to the Gyro Shoppe the first week they opened forever ago and every time I return to Columbus its a MUST. ONLY complaint is that I can’t get the recipe for the white sauce. God forbid they ever go out of business — I don’t know what I’d do :( Get extra meat and extra sauce. Love for the Gyro Shoppe!!!

My favorite Greek place in Columbus. Their gyros get five stars. There baklava gets four stars. Best bang for your buck when it comes to Greek food. Their jumbo/regular gyro is always enough to fill me up.

Very good gyros. I like there fries as well. I must say I never had anything other then that there though. However, the gyros keep me coming back.

They have a wide selection on the menu but I always stick with the gyros. They give you a good amount of meat. Pitas are always fresh and soft. Sauce is very tasty.

At this price-point it is just about impossible to do better with Greek food. This place is fast and yummy every time! If you still have room for dessert(I almost never do), their baklava is scrumptious!

Despite all the negative reviews, I tried this place out today. I ordered the falafel pita and a small hummus. The falafel pita: overall the flavor wasn’t bad, although it was a tad too salty for my taste. Most likely because of the sauce. There was tons of it. And because there was so much sauce, it was super messy. Which wasn’t really an issue, I expected it to be, but I needed several napkins for that baby. I could have done with half the amount. There were no onions on it, when the menu description said it contained red onions. Nope, not there. Disappointed in that one. It was also supposed to have tomatoes. There were two little slivers of tomato. Squishy tomatoes at that; couldn’t even taste them. The lettuce was abundant, but not fresh. It was partially brown. And the pickles were mushy. Aren’t pickles supposed to be crunchy??? The falafel was just okay. Crunchy, but a little too dry. The load of sauce was the only saving grace for that. The hummus: not bad. I’ve had better, but it was edible. Way too much oil, though. Although it wasn’t a horrible meal, I doubt I’ll go back. It just didn’t scream FRESH. Old lettuce, mushy tomato and pickle and NOONION! Many people also commented on how dirty the place was. I took a good look around the place when I went to pick up my order and it didn’t appear particularly dirty. But then they had just opened for the day, so maybe the dining room gets progressively dirty throughout the day if nobody goes out there to clean it. I don’t regret trying it because every time I pass by there I’m tempted to pull in, so I’ve been wanting to order from them for some time now anyway. But now that it’s out of my system, I think my first visit will be my last. It’s just not to my personal taste and I have two other favorite places to grab good Greek food(not to mention amazing hummus) so there’s just no point in spending my money in a place that can’t even use fresh lettuce. It just makes me a little angry how someone can eyeball lettuce that’s obviously past its prime and still serve it to the customer. That alone is enough to keep me away.

This little gyro place is great. Th food was excellet and the girl at the counter was VERY nice. I love when people actually take the time to ask how my day has been and talk like humans instead of just rishing the order. The inside is not as bad as people are saying. What the heck do you people want! The food was good, the service was awesome. I’m a fan and I will be back. I would reccommend to anyone in the area looking to grab a quick bite.

I’ve been to this location three times now and my experience with the food and service has just been«A-OK.» You get a lot of food for your buck. I don’t recall waiting more than a few minutes for my order. The interior is lacking but I never considered it a problem since I always do take-out. My gyros seem to be heavy on the sauce and the fries never seem quite done; you know the kind of fries that could have used a few extra minutes to crisp up? Yeah, that’s what I’ve got each visit. The fries taste good, especially with their seasonings, but fries should be crispy. It’s a nice place, just don’t expect to be wowed.

Delicious, cheap, authentic gyros and shawarma. Hot, crispy fries. Very consistently good. Far better than most. The only thing I don’t like about this place — and the reason I can’t give it 5 stars — is that I always feel like it’s a little dirty inside… both the dining room and the kitchen area. The owner should take a little more pride in his restaurant and make this place sparkling clean. Spend a few bucks on new tile floors if you need to. I love your food and have eaten here for probably ten years. Please stop making me question why I do every time I come in because it feels dated and dirty… !

Opened in ’92 and they still have the same great gyros! I get a mini gyro and a chicken mini. Fries as well. The cinnamon baklava and the chocolate chip baklava are so fresh and delicious! Get it to go if you live in the area.

Their stuffed grape leaves are store bought. I know because i have cans of them via giant eagle. Only gyro place i know that sells canned grape leaves. Pita bread was cold. Their sauce was like a creamy ranch. Where the heck is the tiziki sauce. This used to be a really good place. Not so much anymore.

I always get the gyro and fries here, so I can’t speak to anything else on the menu, but it is one of the better gyros I’ve had. Fresh pita and moist meat. Not sure if the sauce is authentic but meh. Fries are cut with the skin still on them, good if you like that sort of thing, which I do. Fairly cheap for the amount of food you get too. Now the cons. It’s kind of a hole in the wall type place, you don’t come here for the atmosphere or the cleanliness. It is obvious that they don’t have a cleaning routine for the dinning room, but I’ve seen worse. Time your trip so that you don’t have to use their bathrooms which are outside and in the back. And don’t plan on sitting outside on their patio unless you want to be overrun with red fire ants. And don’t ask for a refill on your pop either unless you want to pay extra money. And it can get hot inside during the summer since I’m not sure they have A/C. But the food makes up for all that.

I thought this place was better than it was. I had been here years ago and thought it was on par with other gyro shops. I would go to the myriad of other gyro places over this place. I usually like gyro shops that look like they were Taco Bells at one time. The ehh: I was expecting that Greek spice that some other fast food gyro shops use but their fries are just fries. We also seemed to get a bag of nubs as the bag was full of small pieces. My wife’s gyro seemed to be missing some of the white sauce for at least the first few bites. The chocolate chip baklava was just mushy and wet. It did not satisfy my sweet tooth and it had a nasty cherry on top. The inside store was also a little dirty. It could have been cleaned a little more often. Decent: My gyro was decent but nothing exceptional. I would rate this lower than my other usuals(fast food gyro shop on West Broad). The service was pretty quick and efficient. I will probably not return unless I lived within walking distance and was hungry for a gyro.

This was my first and last time here ! I had to change my order because the grill wasn’t on(at 4pm) and was told it would take 15 minutes to heat up. Doesn’t sound like much, but this place IS fast food ! I got the falafel salad. The lettuce was far from fresh and the falafel was dry and«crusty». I asked for the restroom to wash my hands and was informed that the restrooms were out back. Really? Inconvenient and dangerous. Lets not go into how dirty it was. Lets just say it made the old turnpike rest stops look like the Taj Mahal ! Speaking of cleanliness, the dining room was the worst I’ve seen since basic training chow halls. The floors hadn’t been swept in days. Windows hadn’t been washed in ages. The tables were greasy. I’m no food snob. I enjoy a good«greasy spoon» experience from time to time, but this was downright nasty. Like I said, I wont be back.

Quite possibly the dirtiest place I’ve eaten EVER. I ordered the Falafel Salad and was disappointed. The lettuce was not fresh. I watched the flies in the window as I sat and are. My boyfriend asked where the restrooms were and was directed«out back.» Yikes. What do you do in the winter?! We definitely won’t be back.

My husband introduced this place to me when we first met. The gyro combos are great, and very cheap. They have the best fries in town; you get a big portion and they are fresh-cut. I always get an extra cup of tzatziki sauce to dip them in. I have since stopped eating meat, but they have the falafel pita for vegetarians. The falafel pita, fries, and pop combo is $ 5.95. I agree with other reviewers that the dining room/atmosphere is not the best/cleanest, but the food more than makes up for it. At one time, they had a little sign up telling people how to pronounce Gyro, but it’s gone. I wish more people knew it is «yay-ro», not«gy-ro».

Best Tzatziki sauce in town in my opinion. Love this stuff. I’ve been going to the Gyro Shoppe for years. They have a really large menu and great desserts. Their gyro’s come in mini, regular & jumbo and the jumbo is huge. The meat is very flavorful, never dry and always fresh. Their fries are pretty much fair fries and so good. Very fresh and they have vinegar there too that you can sprinkle on. I like dipping my fries in the tzatziki sauce. Their sauce is right up there with Genji’s yum yum sauce which means it’s the BOMB diggity!!! I’ve never tried anything on their menu other than the gyro because I’m so in love with them I can’t imagine getting anything else. Their prices are really reasonable too. I got the #1 combo today with a mini gyro, soda and fry(fry portion was huge), small side of extra sauce and it was only a little over $ 5. This is always a once or twice a year treat since it’s so out of the way but it is oh so worth it. If you are greek food fan you have to check this place out.
