I have known Bob Peters for 25 years, and knew his mother as well. This is not a bookstore like any you have ever been inside. If there is a «new ageish» topic, there’s bound to be something here on it, or they know where to find it. It is dusty at times, and a little disheveled, but that just adds more character to place. They aim to help the universe, and sell books, CDs and professional astrological services as an aside. You can’t get that in B&N. If you enjoy perusing shelves of obscure books and oddities, along with best sellers of the genre — you’ll absolutely LOVE this place. If your OCD is strong enough that you can’t tolerate a little treasure hunting, or some dust bunnies — save yourself and head to a chain store. Independent book stores are disappearing, try and patronize them every chance you get. You won’t be sorry.

This is a fabulous C-bus resource. Not only can you find lot’s of out of print books there, but Bob and Cathy are more than helpful when it comes to ordering those out of print titles. And their turn around time is bare none – brilliant! I’m not sure what I would have done when I was in grad school without their interest and helpful expertise concerning ordering titles. Also, the Friday night talks are great for beginning seekers as well as well seasoned types.

This is an excellent book store. This store has existed for many years, and there are very few like it in the country! No mold, so don’t listen to that Nia person’s review. She must work for a local competitor, so she’s probably trying to make them look bad. This store is an amazing store with amazing energy, and their selection of books, CD’s and other items is tops! Love this store. Highly recommend! One of the best NEWAGE bookstores in the country! AND, they do not lie about books being out of print! Not sure what the other few looney reviewers are talking about! Remember, making up lies is bad karma! They must work for a local competitor!

It had been a while, but I stopped in recently again after a few years of just not getting to swing by. I browsed around for a while, and then I had a great conversation with the woman behind the desk: we talked about Celtic otherworlds, various myths, and all sorts of things for probably an hour! I’ve always loved this shop: if you’re looking specifically for metaphysical books in Columbus, this is the place to go, though their selection of books on modern Paganism is a bit light(but I did find a some gems). Plus, they’re close to two other metaphysical shops(The Magical Druid and Pearls of Wisdom), both of which are just up the street, making for an easy metaphysical shopping excursion.

The store has a fantastic selection of books and esoteric items. It is a community treasure. But the smell of mold is overpowering, I can no longer tolerate it and I don’t see how it could possibly be safe to work there.

The journey to the center of your mind, to the astral field, to Buddha enlightenment, to alien civilization, to the universal mind, to grand metaphysical truth(or woo) starts with a journey here, to Phoenix Books, in Clintonville; a bookstore that rises up from the ashes of our consumerism, loss of identity, marketing saturated, postmodern blues. It is funny that a skeptical man of reason like myself would enjoy perusing the metaphysical stacks of this alternative book stores– but truth is, there is a side of my that digs the unusual, off the mainstream ideas presented in mass here. Well, I guess they’d say that’s the Gemini in me – one foot in scientific realism, the other in mystic infatuation; I’d say I’m just wired for variety. The store is in a house across from McDonalds, on High Street. Inside are multiple rooms. They only carry metaphysical and countercultural books. Nothing else. There are many psychic and intuition how-to books. There are dream interpretation paperbacks. There are astral phenomena and out-of-body-experience titles. There are books on spiritual phenomena such as ghosts. Alien civilization and the fusion with spirituality are a subject found here. Astrology has a nice section. Soul mates and how to find yours is a subject that caught my eye. Another room held books on alternative medicine: homeopathy seems to be a big interest. The room next to it specializes in Eastern Religions and philosophy. They also have loads of new age CDs lining the wall. I noticed they had CD players in multiple rooms but no music was featured. I went up stairs but there was nothing there but offices. A customer was asking for help about a dream he had, so it seems the people running the place are good for advice in these areas. On the downer, I did not find any books on Wicca or witchcraft – no books of spells that I could find. That’s a shame – I really dig those for the wonderlust feel they give. Phoenix is the place for the alternative, neo-hippies out there; or the people that get a healthy kick from them,

They sell a lot on . However, they care little about accuracy. Can’t trust any of the details they include. They say titles are out of print when they aren’t. Sizes? They make it up.

Interesting place. Very new-agey selection; not necessarily my thing. Plus I was expecting some cheap used books, and that’s not to be found, but I could certainly waste some time here learning about some Eastern religion. And bookstores are good.

Oh my Goodness this store is AMAZING! Its a giant old house full of obscure reading material. They have everything from Alice Bailey to Crowley to how-to meditation and yoga books. There is so much to look through. I stayed for thirty minutes and didnt even get through half of it. Anyone looking for a metaphysical book store should come here first! Although, If you’re looking for popular fiction, you’re in the wrong store.
