The staff here… all of them… are wonderful! It is a wonderfully clean place in an excellent location with well-kept grounds. Food is good, eating area is spotless. Rooms even have fireplaces, which is so nice. The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that the TV service is bad. Very few HD channels and none of them were what I wanted to watch. Being here during March madness watching blurry little figures move around on a blurry floor is SOOOOFRUSTRATING!!! Cheaping out on the TV service can’t be worth it, surely. On the other hand, the laundry’s washing machines doubled in cost this week from $ 1.00 to $ 2.00 per wash…$ 2.00 for a thirty minute cycle that doesn’t drain the wash water! It adds a little water to the tub and calls that a rinse cycle! Love the people and the location. HATE the direct TV subpar service and the nickel and diming for food, washers, and dryers.

Not a fan of false advertising. There is no HBO, no fireplace in the room, no table with seating for four. Last time I was here there also was nowhere to park due to some maintenance, and the advertised beer and wine were not available as they had lost their license. I’m working in the area, and came back this second time hoping for some improvement. I’m typically not hard to please, and the location is good. The other hotel nearby was great but extremely noisy at night.

I stayed here a week during a business trip. The pros: Clean hotel, near plenty of chain restraints and right off the highway. The rooms were spacious, mine even had a gas fireplace which is kind of cool. Cons: LOUD, someone felt the need to vacuum the 3rd floor at 9 pm three different nights i was there. The courtyard is noisy. Again, I was on the 3rd floor, but the noise from the courtyard was very distracting. The breakfast was OK, better than nothing. The room had a weird smell to it, maybe from the kitchenette.

My family and I stayed here twice during my son’s family day and graduation from the Army at Ft Benning. We did have an issue in our first trip with our first room that was handled rather quickly and they also took care of us VERYWELL on our second stay. The staff is awesome and I can’t say enough good things about Mike the manager. If we ever get back to the area I would not hesitate to stay here again. Did I mention the location? You can walk to 10 or so restaurants right from the hotel. Safe, well lit and they have a half basketball court to boot. Great place and money well spent.

This Residence Inn is located far from the center of Columbus(and Ft. Benning). The rooms are dated, but clean. I have to say that the free breakfast was pretty impressive. There was fruit, eggs, muffins, cereal, etc. That was definitely a plus considering the $ 100 /night price.

I think I stayed at this place 5 times to get off of base during basic and Airborne. It’s in my top two places to stay. Why? Location. Anytime of the day or night, you can wonder over to Walmart to buy whatever, it’s walking distance to a Barnes and Noble(w/Starbucks — there’s your Sunday morning right there), a movie theater and Carrabbas(best by lack of competition place to eat in Columbus). Hate being on base? There you are friends.

Great place to stay. You get a complimentary USA Today paper in the morning as well as a great breakfast bar. The staff is very friendly and helpful!

So when you walk into a hotel room and the first thing you do is laugh, it’s usually not a good sign. While this place is not bad, it is no Marriott.(ditto, R Kelly you bastard). The rooms literally reminded me of half the apartments I had looked at in New York that weekend when looking for a new home. Insert the work, SMALL, here! Certainly cemented the conviction I needed a one bedroom to fit all my crap into. The rooms are clean but you don’t get the nice amenities you would get at the Marriott(R Kelly you, well you know). However, there is a saving grace, a PROPER breakfast. No continental crap with bread and water but eggs, potatoes, muffins, oatmeal, french toast. Almost makes sleeping in a strip mall bearable.

So R Kelly took my freakin room at the Marriott we always stay at(yeah I hold him personally accountable but I also feel kinda bad for him since he can’t get any larger venue to play than Columbus University, although that’s what happens when you touch little girls so whatever). Bastard. So now Karen and I are at the Residence Inn. It’s not bad aside from feeling living in a strip mall. Now I’ve spent some time in Jersey so strip malls are not entirely unfamiliar, but I’ve never really lived in one. Nothing says good morning like TGIFriday’s glistening in the sunshine as I rub the sleep out of my eyes.
