Solid Asian buffet! I enjoyed the variety of rolled sushi in addition to the traditional American-Chinese dishes(lo mein, chicken & broccoli, General Tso’s, etc.) and I felt fine the next day. :) The servers also never let your drink get less than half full. Very small crowd for such a big space, so I hope more people check it out!

Hasn’t been open very long but was impressed with the variety and quality of the buffet. Liked almost everything I tried.

This location seems to be one asian buffet after another. Some good, some bad. As Sakura I can say that the new dining room layout is nicer than the previous and very spacious. Also the inclusion of sushi is very welcome providing a mix of nigiri sushi, rolls and sashimi. Staff was prompt and friendly, food stations and dining room looked clean and well maintained. Chocolate mousse dessert cup were good. The food overall was lower quality IMO than a typical Asian buffet and the aforementioned sushi was pretty dry, even for a buffet. I avoided most of the meat dishes on the line because they didn’t look great and hey, there was sushi to be had. Cutting beef/chicken/cooked salmon out I found the remaining selection of food pretty limited. As others said though, the killing blow for Sakura is that absurd price! Even with the«holiday special» they want $ 15 a head for dinner and all day Sunday. The place was dead when we went and for good reason. I honestly can’t say that Sakura tasted any better than Supreme buffet on the west side despite costing almost twice as much(and losing the hibachi grill + larger selection). If they cost $ 10 it would be another story, but as is Sakura just isn’t worth it.

I don’t know what others are saying, but I love this place! Imagine, sashimi(normally pricey for 2 pieces) on a buffet! Definitely will come again. My daughter loves this place too. I’ve been to other sushi restaurants, but they were so expensive for what you get. Try Sakura Buffet for yourself.

Very disappointed! The food was cold and flavorless. The prices are high. $ 40 for 2 people. I do not recommend this place. We will not e going back!

Absolutely underwhelming experience. Didn’t think to to inquire about the cost(my mistake, and I won’t make it again). The atmosphere doesn’t make one assume it be 20 per adult and 16 per child. It would have been one thing if the food was outstanding, but it was just average. We were commenting on the lackluster flavor long before we were punched in the face with the pricing(and that probably accentuated our disgust). The manager actually laughed when I asked if they were serious about the pricing.

Food was actually really good for being a buffet BUT… nearly $ 20 per adult and insane varying prices for little kids… me and two friends plus our children at ages 4(barely ate anything) and 7, came to a grand total of $ 89. I honestly didn’t even think about how much I would potentially be spending because… let’s be real. The food was tasty I’ll give them that but I’d bet my next paycheck I won’t be going back there when I’m in the mood for Chinese.

Tried this place for lunch with a friend because I’m always looking for a new Japanese place. I knew it was a buffet but I didn’t really know what to expect. For a $ 10 all-you-can-eat buffet, I’d say I was pretty satisfied. There was a small salad bar, two islands with cooked food, a soup bar, and sushi. The cooked food was hot and tasty but I didn’t notice any sauces(like katsu sauce for dipping) nearby. I realize I could have probably asked for some but it seems like something that should be easily noticeable. The sushi section was small but maybe a dozen types of roles. None of them were clearly labeled(a problem the entire buffet had) so we were never totally sure what we were eating. This was not the best sushi I ever had but it was better than what I get from the supermarket and they had the standard tuna and crab rolls that I like. I would not come here just for the sushi but it was perfectly acceptable for the lunch price. For dessert, there was a selection of fruit and pudding as well as a cooler of ice cream. The pineapple tasted off but the pudding was good. The ice cream station could’ve used something, even just a bottle of chocolate syrup and a bowl of sprinkles. For lunch, I think we paid a fair price and had a nice meal. I can see issues coming for dinner if the selection is the same as lunch but twice as expensive(I also didn’t see prices posted anywhere). I’d definitely come back for lunch and hope that some small improvements(sauces, labels) get made to really up this restaurant experience.

As a replacement for the buffet that was here before, this is an improvement. As an Asian buffet, it’s a bit better than most. But it’s still a buffet, and things are a little bland, and a little expensive. I went for lunch, and it wasn’t busy. The space is more open, but the buffet spread isn’t any bigger. Off to one side is a selection of decent sushi– better than grocery sushi, but not amazing. The Chinese standards are there among the entrees, and they’re a little better than normal: better quality meats, etc. Service is good. It’s handy if you’re at the mall, but not really worth going out of the way for.

If you are looking for a regular, run-of-the mill Chinese buffet, this is NOT your place. However, if you are looking for high-quality sushi and other Japanese delights, this is where you need to go! The owner is a delight to talk to, and the employees all are very courteous and friendly. You know you’ve found a good Asian buffet when the place is filled with Asian families all enjoying their Sunday afternoon. In my opinion, the price is totally worth it for the high-quality.

Nothing witty to say here… dinner was mediocre and we were sticker-shocked upon receiving the bill.

Okay, Wild Ginger is one of my favorite restaurants, so I was pretty excited to see Sakura Buffet pop up in my area. So this is probably one of the better buffets out there, but if they want to succeed they’re going to need to drop the price a little. The weekday lunch buffet price of $ 10 is fine, but the nearly $ 20 dinner price is a little ridiculous. China Dynasty has the best buffet in Columbus, in my opinion, and their Sunday buffet is only around $ 16. Keep the current lunch price, but they have got to drop dinner to around $ 15. Maybe on Sunday they could do a «fancier» buffet and keep the $ 20 price then? I don’t know, I just know it needs to be changed if they want to stick around. Everything I had was tasty and fresh. No stomach aches afterward, which is always a good sign after you eat at a buffet, haha. I don’t remember seeing any fried rice or white rice though, which seemed a little strange. Maybe I just missed it. Everything else was pretty standard… egg rolls, dumplings, a few kinds of soup, a couple noodle dishes, string beans, various meat dishes, crab legs, crab rangoon, calamari, shrimp and veggie tempura, lots of different kinds of sushi, fruit, desserts. Desserts were definitely lacking… for the high price at least have some sprinkles! I would definitely go back since I live within walking distance, but only if they drop the price. I don’t eat sushi(unless it’s made with rice paper, and none of these were made with rice paper), so I’m not sure if that warrants the high price.

Extremely overpriced for a typical mediocre buffet. All the food tasted the same and most of it was lukewarm. That being said it would have just been«average» except for the fact they are charging almost $ 20. I’m sure it states it on the menu, but I also found it interesting that there was no sign indicating the price when you come in.

Way. Too. Expensive! 19.95 for an unremarkable Buffett. If you think plastic glasses embellished with«Drink Pepsi» and scarcely no other diners are your first clues to a dinner of sadness… You would be correct. Having high hopes despite the askew price we parked and noticed an empty restaurant on a night and time where typically you would expect a wait. I read with amazement again: $ 19.95 for what appeared to be your typical vats of Asian Fare plus the required«salad and fruit» bar: this one actually had jello. Three islands beside the salad and fruit. One just bins of greasy soup. Really. $ 19.95 for a selection of brownish soup. If you were looking for deep fried whatever(s)… There were plenty. All described on bits of paper taped to the sneeze guard.(There’s a buffet in Lewis Center that is almost exact in it’s offerings for $ 6.95…) So. Perhaps that $ 19.95 price was the result of the Sushi across the back bars. Sushi my friends, is a dish made to order… not placed in a buffet, drying and sad. I had a few offerings: one piece i do think was at one time«tuna» but was the minced consistency of cat food. It was my last bite… ever to be eaten there. Our bill for two came: $ 45. One soda. I tipped the waitresses that hauled the cheap plastic plates and those before mentioned«Pepsi» glasses away and scurried out. Never to return… unless I longed for Sad Sushi and Vats of Jello.

So this place was junky with the previous owners. So we walk in with no menu or price anywhere. Food was OK .When bill comes it’s 68 dollars for 3 people. So the food was about the same as last place. They cleaned the bathrooms. Threw some paint on the bathroom walls and raised the price from 8.99 to 22.00. Man I need to buy a restaurant. Last time there for me.

For clarification, I’m writing about the lunch buffet and pricing. The other reviews, discussing dinner, seem over priced. Lunch was fairly priced at ~$ 10. The food is good; Fairly standard buffet fair. My wife loved the sushi and ate lots of it, as well as their various soups. I had the more american fare of general tso’s chicken, etc. The flavor was good for both pre-sauced chickens, the rest of the chicken seemed to be lacking distinguishing flavors… meaning it was good, but it was essentially the same thing for three of the choices. The fried rice was good, but the steamed rice was dry. The shrimp and crab dishes were flavorful; our favorite by far. In hind sight, I didn’t notice any pricing. The owner/manager seemed genuinely interested to know people’s opinions, so my wife told him. We left satisfied, so we’ll be back. Hopefully some minor improvements happen to make the place better.

The food here is wonderful. They went out of their way to prepare some vegetarian dishes for me to eat. The buffet hot foods are hot and the cold foods are cold which is awesome. The manager just brought me some vegetarian sushi that he had their chef make. It is out of this world. Big selection of sushi too.

Wow! Very nice higher class buffet. I am not a «buffet» type eater ATALL! This is a new business concept for Columbus. Fresh Asian dishes and delicious sushi, sashimi, and rolls! I was impressed with the cleanliness and quality of the restaurant and food. A great variety of salad combinations, fresh fruit, rices, noodles, all types of meat dishes! I tried everything I could! I typically eat sushi and sashimi. All the seafood and sushi was fresh and delicious. Same quality as some of the more expensive Sushi restaurants around town. Not to mention green tea and other ice cream’s for dessert. And did I forget to mention its«all you can eat!» If you want typical garbage buffet food for $ 10, then this is not the place to go. Don’t hesitate to try this little gem!

i am a big fan of sushi and Japanese food but this place amazingly put Japanese food in a shame. We were excited to go to this newly opened place real close to our house but all excitements turned into disappointments because of several facts. Sushi was stale seems like it was sitting there for hours not to mention cheapo quality(meaning Yikes). Other typical dishes were just so so and the bill came before we were done and it was 40+ plus dollars for two of us wow. My advice is to save your time and money just by avoiding this place. Try supreme buffet on Hilliard you will be walking out with full happy belly and a yummy smile on your face :-))).

This is a good buffet, with excellent service, clean facilities, and good food. I particularly liked the gyoza and the crab rangoon. There were also several varieties of sushi available, though they were generally bland and a little stale. I can’t speak to how authentic the food is, but for a mostly American audience it works fine. The manager greeted and seated me, my drink order was ready and waiting by the time I’d filled up my first plate, and the waitstaff was attentive without being obtrusive. When I got the check, though, there was substantial sticker shock: 23.46 for one meal, including iced tea and tax. This wouldn’t be too bad at a steakhouse or even a midrange chain like Applebee’s, but I could have gotten a lot of takeout for that much money. Apparently the dinner buffet is 19.99 from Friday to Sunday and 17.99 the rest of the week. The lunch buffet is 9.99 M-F and 14.99 on weekends. Takeout entrees are in the 9 – 15 range. Overall, this was a nice meal, but had I known the price beforehand I would have opted for something cheaper.
