Sam’s Club

My mom has had a membership at Sam’s for years (I’m talking decades… I remember going there as a kid). She’d often ask me why I don’t have a membership because I have so many kids & it would come in handy. I could NEVER get passed the fact that you have to pay to shop anywhere. In fact, it really pisses me off. You want me to pay to spend my money at YOUR store??? What a bunch of crap.
Anyway, one day my mom was at my house and she asked me if I wanted to go to Sam’s with her and use her membership. Well, hell yeah! Free to shop works for me.
When we first walked in, I wasn’t too much impressed. I don’t my tvs (that’s my man’s job) so I had no idea if any of them were a good price. I looked over the clothes and thought those prices were a ripoff too ($ 20 for a no name outfit… not for real!!). Then we went to the food and the wonderfulness began. So many great deals. Great deals on vitamins too.
I still had to knock them down a star though… even though I feel it REALLY REALLY sucks that you have to pay to shop there, after my visit, I will be getting a membership soon.

Why do I continue to torture myself? Every single time I visit Sam’s, I swear I will never go back. My memory must be bad, because three months later I always find myself making the same promise.
If you like being ignored. Go to Sam’s. You have to try REALLY, really hard to find someone to help you. If you don’t believe in bags and like lugging heavy boxes out to your car (juggling your kids)– Go to Sam’s. If you like having to wait in a line to prove you paid for your items– Go to Sam’s. If you like having to wait for the customer service desk to get off their cell phone before they have time for you– Go to Sam’s.
If you like being treated like you don’t matter– Sam’s is for you! And they will even give you a membership card to the club for $ 50!

It’s what it is. I just like to buy in bulk for my family because it saves us do much money versus regular grocery shopping. They now have a sample station that’s really cool you just put your card barcode up and get a sample. I really dig the sample stations because there’s usually a plethora of items I’d never buy without trying them first. It’s a great way to test my taste buds. I’ve actually went back and figured out my actual savings vs a regular item at a regular store. They’ve just reconfigured their parking lot too. Sometimes I go and swear they are understaffed especially in Monday’s and sometimes they do not have enough staff at the customer service area which can be aggravating at times. I just wish there was one closer to me so I wouldn’t have to run the Morse Road gamut. Until that happens I will keep going here for my bulk purchases.

Standard Sams Club. Two shoppers here… the gawker impulse buyer, and the shopper who knows «that’s not a deal». Be aware most of their items are available in a smaller quantity next door at Wal Mart. Walmart will also take a coupon or price match a competitor. Now factor your membership cost, and the add on tax. Is it still a deal because you bought it off a pallet? The butcher was great. Buy large pieces of meat at a good price, and have hime cut it to your different needs. I got a pork loin cut into a crockpot size roast. Another cut for the smoker, and the last cut in 1″ chops.
The staff: this trip involved five I don’t knows. I did get one very helpful attendant go in the back to see if the salsa was out of stock. I believe she was management. many of the people doing samples were friendlier than the staff. weekends really need somebody to walk around sweeping up the garbage and trash drop on the floor and in the aisles. The bathroom definitely needed attention. Once again long lines, this would have been two stars except for the cashier attendant managing the lanes who came over and pre scanned my cart.

I love Sam’s Club, especially the Reynoldsburg location. Great hotdogs at a low price. I tend to over buy everytime I go there.

While the woman at the register was beyond nice, the return policy fails 100% below that of Costco. This trip solidified my patronage to Costco. The higher membership is well worth it!

We bought our Sams Club membership online through a Groupon– $ 35 for a year of membership, plus a take-​home pizza, cookies, a roasted chicken and some other freebies on our first visit. The membership fee paid for itself on our first visit and we’ve been back many times since to stock up our pantry.
There’s nothing particularly special about this Sams Club compared to others I’ve visited, but you can’t beat a cheap slice of pizza and buying groceries in bulk when you’re on a grad student budget!

I’ve never had a negative experience at Sam’s Club. From time-​to-​time the lines can be long, but that’s something you should anticipate if you come on the weekend. Buying in bulk is a plus (if you have the storage space), and the discounts on electronics is something to consider.
Anyone else remember when Sam’s Club employees would wear roller skates?

Ok… talk about a mixed review! I enjoy the Sam Club; bit of a mixed crowd but usually not to bad. I’m still new to Ohio so I have nothing to base my opinion on except places back East; Costco (which no one goes to) and Bj’s (which I love to death)
Anyway, I had a horrible experience with their car services. It’s set up really poorly so you may have to walk into the body shop itself to find someone. I had the guy paged. He was a real… well…a-hole. He was whispering to the other guys and barely even listening to me. I needed new wiper blades and a patch on my tire. They have the cheapest blades around and they’ll throw them on your car for free. Seriously…“throw” on your car (so don’t expect it to be put on perfectly) and then he’ll throw the packaging at you or on the ground for you to pick up yourself while complaining how f-​ing cold it is outside. Now the patch, it seemed, when alright. They took 45mins (closer to an hour in actuality) so I did some shopping. Now, I’m a girl but I’m not one of those girls who knows nothing about cars; I know just enough to get me through! So when he finished (btw, a patch is free for members only) he handed me the paper where it tells you everything they did. They filled all the tires for me… I thought «how wonderful» but since I was on my way to Giant Eagle afterwards anyway I thought I’d stop by the air pump. I’ve never had work done at this place before so I wanted to check everything. Turns out he over filled every single tire (the correct numbers are always on your drivers side door so you don’t make this mistake)…clearly on purpose. I called my dad after correcting the tire pressure for all of them and he told me that a-​hole and bad companies will do this in order to get your tire to pop, that way you’ll have to go back to see them and spend more money. So naturally, when I told him that every single tire was over filled and the tire that I had fixed was filled even more he flipped out and demanded I never go there again. Enough said really.
Expect to be treated (by the car people) horribly with horrible service and pay for a sh*t job. 0 stars for the car shop and 4 stars for the Sams Club; only issue being the shady people who shop their.

I like the other guy better but Sam’s is still cool in my book!

This isn’t the best Sam’s Club I’ve been in, but it’s MUCH better than the Walmart next door. I spent my breaks and meals here because it was preferable to sitting in the breakroom with the trash Walmart employs.
Wherever you turn, there’s an employee. They’re working, not hiding, and they’re respectful. The cashiers are speedy and you can always find a manager wandering around. Huge improvement over Walmart. Things get a little backed up after «normal» people get off work at 5pm, but the cashiers get everyone through the till fast enough to prevent tempers from flaring. It’s also worth noting that every time I’ve been in there, they’ve always had all registers open.
Clean store? You bet. Trash isn’t lying around and the customers don’t leave food from the café lying around on shelves, the floor, or drop it in with merchandise. Produce, dairy, and meats are fresh and packaged properly. Occasionally you’ll find something a little too ripe or beat up, but they’re pretty good about pulling outdates.
The customers this store attracts range from decent to Walmart’s ghetto trash. The folks coming in earlier in the day are there to get their stuff, get in, and get out. The Walmart-​quality people usually come in after 3pm, but they’re not as numerous, meaning you can get your shopping done without tripping over idiots loitering in the walkways or kids damaging merchandise.
Their selection has declined over the years, it seems. They don’t have the variety of computers or musical instruments that they had even five years ago. Even so, I would shop around for technology such as cameras, camcorders, cell phones, TVs, computers, etc.; the prices are decent, but you can find the same items cheaper elsewhere, namely

Nice store as warehouse clubs go. Only complaint is they never have enough registers open so you end up waiting in line all most as long as you spent shopping.

Been shopping at Sammy’s since 1986 when I lived in Texas. Still love them for what they do. Since my kids are grown and gone, I buy less than before, but always end up here 1x per week. Morse Road seems to be better than most on having enough registers open.

I love coming to Sam’s Club because they are one of the cheapest places to get my medicine at a good discount. They are willing to offer the $ 4 generic plan like many stores, and offer a discount for having AAA. Another plus is you can actually pay for your whole order at the pharmacy IF you are picking up medicine (so that makes your visit VERY fast)
Plus, they have a café which offers smoothies, hot dogs, pizza, soda, etc. Then they have an optician (eye doctor), bakery, and all types of neat stuff. I find it is light years different from Walmart (the same parent company!), their store is clean, and their prices are pretty good. One important note is most all their items are in bulk, so it might not be good for single or elderly people who are not planning to use all the product/​food.

What? No review? It’s the standard Sam’s Club we’ve come to know and love. And much UNLIKE Oklahoma, the ones here sell wine and alcohol…
You know me… can’t pass up a good bargain!
