So I came in on Sunday for dinner and forgot to leave a review. This time, I’m writing one. I love the atmosphere with the live koi pond in the front with a fountain that’s attached to the pond. Really soothing and woosah like. Of course this is a Japanese steakhouse, you know for a fact that you’re gonna get entertained by the chef that comes out after you’re semi full with miso soup and salad which was nice and fresh. Thrills of the chef throwing up eggs and catching it in his hat never missing a beat. The big flame that starts the intense cooking that’s about to take place shortly with what you ordered. They have sushi which is awesome and fresh. I got filet Minon and shrimp and it was to die for! Omg I looooove how fresh and tasty the food was. Now the price??? Awesome. It only cost less than $ 15 and I ordered a drink of wine. Very affordable indeed and a great place to entertain the kids. It wasn’t a lot of people there but the staff and cooks were very nice. Will be back soon!

We went with a group of 6 for a Saturday lunch. Seating was quicker than i was told. Always a good thing when that happens. Food is always good and has been consist at each visit. Love the salad dressing. The tables were not being bussed and getting a little crowded with the soup and salad dishes still on the table while the main course was being prepared and served. Chairs are getting pretty worn out and the fountain area could use some maintenance. Chefs are fun and entertaining

This is the best kept lunch secret. You receive the same food as dinner but for much cheaper. You can also get in and out pretty quickly. I am always happy when I have been here whether for a 20+ person birthday dinner or just me and my husband. My daughter was amazed by the show.

Nice place the have the Japanese style of the Steak, When they have a great lunch special menu, which have the same quality of steak in a cheaper price, I like the fried rice over there. Strongly recommend. Cookers are master on making steak and make performance Good experience

Classic Japanese Steakhouse. Great ambiance and good location with plenty of parking. We went on a Saturday night with a group and it was not busy. The service was rather slow for the lack of customers they had. I ordered the lobster and shrimp apart of the hibachi style dinner that is served with a soup and salad. Overall, the food was good. The Lobster and shrimp was perfectly cooked. The rice was perfectly seasoned and the vegetables included were onions, zucchini and broccoli. The fun about Japanese steakhouses is the show. The chef looked tired and rather annoyed. He cooked the food and kept it moving. Not my favorite but it is local and decent.

Great ambience and a very clean restaurant. Staff was very polite and very efficient. The food was fine, nothing special. Not great but definitely bad. I ordered the chicken yakisoba. It was pretty good. Others ordered steak, chicken and calamari dishes and their opinions were the same. Pretty good.

Hands down the worst Japanese steakhouse I have ever been to and I have been to a lot all of the world. I’ve had better food in mall food courts and the service wasn’t any better. We were seated pretty quickly. It was not busy and there were only 2 other tables with people sitting at them. We ordered some drinks and as I was sitting there looking around I started to think this was already a mistake. The inside is very dark and not very inviting. Tables weren’t cleared and it was just poor presentation everywhere. Drinks finally came, and orders were taken. Almost instantaneously she came back with the miso soup and salad at same time and slopped them in front of us. No choice of dressing and the soup was warm at best. Half way through trying to eat those two poor excuses of a starters, 2 more people were seated at our table and the same service started again! Rather than sit them at one of the many open tables we now had to wait for them to order, have their starters and then we could get on with our meal. It did not get any better. The chef was ready to go home and cooked food in record time which was fine by us as it meant we got to leave that much quicker. Worst $ 90 spent in a restaurant in a long time. Should have looked to see if there was a Benihana’s here, which there is, as they have never disappointed! I would avoid this place at all costs. Would not go back if a free meal was offered!!!

Let’s start with the positive the décor is modern and fun. The restraunt is clean, the wait staff is friendly enough. Now you’ve had your sugar time for your throat punch. The cook, hibachi grill czar, whatever his title was snappy and rude. With triggers like«is there anyway to get my veggies without the broccoli?» Maybe customer service just isn’t for you. And let us be very clear you have a customer service job no matter your knife skills there guy. But with a half hearted ehh of an apology from the manager it made the humiliation infront of a table of strangers and pricey tab totally worth it. Thanks for the nightmare story I get to share with friends and family. Can’t wait to continue to drive past your establishment on my way to anywhere else in easton.

Service was good. Food was very subpar. I remember a time when going to the Japanese steakhouse was a special experience. I would think the dinner experience would be a little more upscale than lunch, which the price reflects. Now it seems these restaurants are dime a dozen and any hint of tradition removed. I would expect people to also treat this dining experience with a little more respect. I did not expect to spend my dining experience with people wearing sweatpants and sleeveless tshirts. Oh well. As with most things this experience and tradition are a thing of the past.

I love Sakura’s décor/ambiance, food, and their reasonable prices for what is overall a very entertaining meal. However, I found them to be lacking in service. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and waited over 5 minutes to be greeted at the hostess stand. Then, despite having asked if they do hibachi combos and being told they didn’t, all the other guests at our table ordered, and received, hibachi combinations while I sat there grumpily salivating over the options I didn’t get to try. The steamed rice that was supposed to come with the boy’s meal never came, we actually had to ask for it to go after we were done with our meal. We also asked for some of their sauces to go and didn’t get a to go bag until we, again, had to ask for it. Overall, a delicious meal and great value, despite service that is memorable strictly for all it’s lacking.

Good looking restaurant. Horrible service and food is sub par for Japanese steakhouse. Dinner for two almost 70 dollars which is normal for this type of place but no hot sauce, service is bad, no refills, not check on til end of meal and rushed out. There are too many negatives to list and too many Japanese steakhouses in Columbus and surrounding areas to make a return trip. Last on the list for sure. Eat here at your own risk.

We visited Sakura for Sunday lunch and my overall impression was mediocre and«acceptable». The ambiance was very trendy minimalist asian. Everything was clean and well kept and very pleasant. The service was acceptable at best. The initial server was very friendly and helpful and the chef at our table was funny and sociable. The exciting tricks, flames, and juggling acts that I come to expect from Japanese steakhouse chefs were lacking, however. The show was fun, but bland. The service after we were served was terrible. No drinks were refilled the entire meal! The only person that came by was a 14 year old kid who took our empty salad dishes and offered us to-go boxes 5 minutes into our meal. When we actually needed to-go boxes at the end of the meal, we had to wait and flag down the hostess. The food was good, but didn’t stand out. Our party of 5 tried a wide variety of items between us including the shrimp, steak, chicken, scallops, salmon, and yakisoba. The shrimp was overcooked and chewy, but the flavor was good. The yakisoba was salty and dull. The chicken, salmon, and scallops were all acceptable. We tried the egg yolk sauce on the shrimp and scallops and was good, but, again, not remarkable. The vegetables they cooked consisted of primarily zucchini with onions and broccoli diced in it. It was cooked primarily with soy sauce(as most everything was) and was good. We had one child in our party and although the kids’ lunch was advertised as coming with ice cream, we never received it. Overall, our experience was ok, but not anything I’d go back for. There are many Japanese steakhouses in Columbus and I’ve had better food, entertainment, and service at the others.

For lunch ordered the hibachi steak and shrimp. They prepare it with veggies and you can get fried rice for addtl fee. Lunch included soup, salad, and a beverage for under $ 15. I think it’s a great deal for lunch on occasion

Review from 12÷5÷2014 at 7pm. We were seated quickly but everything went downhill from there. The grill operator kept dropping his tools and then flung a shrimp tail into my sauce. The server didnt bring my rice and when I inquired about it he snapped at me. There were two other parties at our table. Party #1 They overcooked the first woman’s steak. The grill operator put an entire container of egg yolk sauce on the second woman’s chicken. When it was done cooking it looked like chicken alfredo and I doubt it was even edible. Party #2 The woman in party number 2 also didnt get her rice. They paid with a coupon when they paid with a coupon Sakura automatically added a gratuity to their bill which made the meal cost more than it wpuld have without the coupon. The service was terrible. It took forever for them to collect payment. When party #1 complained about their dissatisfaction the management offered her 10% off even though both of their meals were effectively ruined and then were super rude to them. The attitude of the staff was horrible and the food was just passable. Sakura is not an inexpensive place so there is no excuse for them to treat people this way. I doubt any of the 7 people who were at my table will return to Sakura. This was a pretty pathetic experience. There are several better choices for hibachi food in Columbus.

Spacious dinning, good and well portioned food, and very nice and personable staff. Not greasy food, and clean facilities. Would come again.

This Japanese Steakhouse is a favorite of ours. The chefs are experienced, talented and funny. Oh, and they can cook. The place is modern and clean. It has an open dining room which is kind of nice being able to clearly see the other chefs at other tables. The soup appetizer has a nice flavor with mushroom and noodles that really adds to the normally plain broth. The salad appetizer was delicious. They really have a remarkable dressing compared to others. The meat and veggies are always cooked perfectly and full of flavor. However, I’m not a fan of the recent addition of broccoli to the veggie mix or the lack of bean sprouts. But that isn’t enough to keep this from being a favorite. I highly recommend this when you are craving Japanese Hibachi food.

Sakura is a average Japanese steakhouse. It is definitely cleaner than the Japanese steakhouse downtown on high street. Make sure your party arrives together because they won’t get you a table until everyone is there. They have egg yolk sauce but you have to pay $ 1.50 extra(didn’t like that) also they charge you extra for the fried rice and there is some waiting when the table has some seats empty. Their soup and salad is good.

Not my favorite Japanese steakhouse-but the service was good, the food was good, with a decent portion size for lunch. We were three-strong, the chef still put on a show and was extremely friendly and capable. Evidently, their hours are slightly skewed however, so check before you go to be sure they’re open(else, you’ll end up at Kobe, which also isn’t bad).

We came here for a weekend date night. We were impressed with the variety, from sushi rolls, to rice boxes, to the advertised tepan yaki(it is, afterall, a Japanese Steakhouse). Ambiance: Beautiful restaurant, understated and clean modern décor. We commented on how we could see having a party here would be very fun as the main dining room is one large open space. Each cook top area seats 8 people, so it’s fun for a group or family, but less romantic for a date night. We had to share the experience with another couple(insert intermittently awkward stares across the table) and a family with their young child(expect chop stick drumming on plate). Service: Like all restaurants of this type, the chef was definitely the highlight of the meal. Not too many tricks, but enough to keep said small child entertained. The ancillary staff kept our drinks refreshed. Also, any overages of food(veggies/rice) from others at the table refusing were offered to us(yay!). Food: Sakura special for two $ 55. Includes appetizer soup and salad, rice(upgrade for fried/brown rice), chicken/filet mignon/lobster, veggies, drink, ice cream. The actual seasoning of the food was totally expected(but who doesn’t like buttery soy sauce flavoring?), but really, the quality of the meat was impressive. Also of note, the portions are huge. We took home left overs that ended up being dinner and a lunch. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and would come back with friends.
