FINALLY a REAL authentic homemade diner!!! What pride Scott, his family, and staff take in this super friendly ran café! Voted #1 café in Columbus for a reason Unilocalers! I cannot say enough great things about this place and Scott! I grew up in a diner/catering business just like this. To see the dedication, passion, love, drive, and amazing customer service that this place puts into each order/customer is truly heart warming! There are no short cuts here and it shows. I have had a real bad southern craving for homemade corn beef hash for months now, and cannot find the right place! I told the server what I was craving-she said they would make me something! WOW! Now that is customer service!!! However, after her suggestions and looking over the menu-I went with the Schmoozer– 3 huge homemade Latkas(potato pancakes) topped with a pile of fresh sliced corn beef. I wanted to ruin it with an egg and white pepper gravy, but I didn’t. I have to say-this was amazing! I did eat the cakes with sour cream. Lordy-it was amazing all for $ 10! The prices are amazing here! $ 5 daily lunch specials and everyone gets a FREE sweet treat? Say what!!! You can also come in an order their special meats by the lb and side dishes they make from scratch! Oh and their roast beef is made in house! Scott’s also offers catering. And not just any catering-he services some of the best around Columbus. OSU and the Crew, are a few. Their Website list over 50 corporations they grace their presences with-lucky them! Speaks volumes to his business and success. Scotty’s is worth it! Make the drive, you will NOT be disappointed! I will find every reason possible to go back ASAP!!!

How have I missed this place for so long and never been here? Fast service, more than ample seating. The food was great. The owner even came out and checked on all the customers! Amazing!

Customer service is 100% alive and kicking here! Picture it: Friday, 12 pm lunch hour. This place was hopping! A coworker and I walked over for lunch. It has great Reviews, so I was super excited to finely make it here. Literally, there were like two open tables when we strolled in. It’s a breakfast/lunch joint. They have so many regulars. House moms, retired couples, business men, you name it. Scotty and the staff are phenomenal. Talk about being on the ball. The waiting staff was top notch. Taking orders, clarifying and giving suggestions, checking in at all the right times, bringing out desserts samples to tables for no other reason than because they wanted to! The entire hour we were there, Scotty did rounds talking with the locals, greeting people as they sat down. How awesome is he Gwen? My friend was craving onion rings and wanted to try Scotty’s. However, their rings are only served with the special, can’t get them as a side dish. Joy didn’t want the pulled pork dish, though. I pulled Scotty aside and asked if we could get a few, and he could charge it to my bill. He insisted that was not necessary, and brought out a plate of the rings hot out of the kitchen. They use red onion slices. The batter is light, thin and crispy. Holy space balls, Darth! Slightly sweet and oh so extremely tasty! I’m a sucker for good homemade chicken salad, so I went with their Chicken Salad Melt. Comes with a kosher dill pickle on the side. None of that overwhelming mayo taste. Lots of chicken chunks. I chose Swiss to top, and had it served one face style on their fresh, slightly toasted, wheat bread. I did think the chicken salad mix was at tad skimpy on the thick pieces of toast. I mention this to our waitress and she gladly took it back and got double scoops. They insisted I not worry about adding it to the bill. It’s special touches like that that creat life long loyal customers. I can’t wait for summer so I can hit this local gem more often!

I’m super sad that I didn’t discover Scotty’s until I was moving *away* from the east side. I went for lunch with Bryant one day and everyone there was super friendly. People checked up on us every time they walked by, which I usually wouldn’t like but they were being genuinely friendly and it was cool. I had a patty melt, which is kind of my diner standard. Totally delish. They brought us a little dessert on the house to eat at the end, a moist pound cake trifle kind of thing. Thinking about it kind of makes me want some pound cake. Mmm. Scotty’s is definitely the best place to grab breakfast in the Bexley area, imo. It does get busy and parking can be tight.

This family owned diner is my favorite place to have brunch in Columbus. It is community focused and family owned which gives it a homey feel, the restaurant itself updated, well lit and inviting. The food is stellar every time I visit; from chicken tortilla soup to latkes to the classic Reuben. Every facet of the team is inviting, friendly, and outstanding. Try Scotty’s out for lunch soon. I highly doubt you’ll be disappointed!

I’ve never felt so welcomed by an establishment until I walked into Scotty’s café for the first time. The café has a warm homey feeling to it and is set up as if you are sitting in your Grandma’s living room; a traditional family style atmosphere. The food is DELICIOUS! Everything is made fresh, never frozen, real food… nothing processed or imitation. Their staff is very friendly and accommodating. Scotty and his wife are so sweet and generous; very loving and accepting of anyone and everyone who steps in their door. You get a small dessert with every meal purchase; it’s the perfect size and always yummy. You are well taken care of when you go into Scotty’s. We frequent there during our lunch hour and they are sure to get you in and out, if needed. I’ve had their breakfast and a couple of their lunch items, I always leave satisfied and with a smile on my face. Scotty’s café is my favorite place in Columbus to eat for breakfast or lunch. Check out their daily specials for $ 5, you will not be disappointed.

Scotty’s Café is the S.L.A.M! Talk about the find of the century for me! Ironically, I’ve walked by Scotty’s Café many times over the years because it’s near my optometrist. I am sad to say that I always dismissed it; assuming that it wasn’t the type of place for a gal like me. I envisioned low lights, long menus, side eye, and food with very little taste. I can’t tell you how happy I am to be soooo wrong! My trip to Scotty’s reminded me to never EVER judge a restaurant by the building — or neighborhood — it’s located within. In fact, I want to apologize to the wonderful people that make Scotty’s the fantastic place that it is that I kicked it to the curb without ever stepping foot in the door. If I had it my way I would head to Scotty’s every single day for a meal. It’s that real. For less than 10 bucks you can have eggs made your way, home fries, toasted bread, choice of meat, and coffee or tea! Add in the ambiance and courteous staff and there is nothing about Scotty’s not worth falling in love with! Scotty’s is serving more than just breakfast and offers a simple menu with lunch offerings as well. You need to get there early though — this cute café decked out in OSU colors closes shop at 2:30p and is only open Monday thru Friday. My visit to Scotty’s helped heal some wounds created by not-so-awesome experiences at east side establishments. Go check them out — your tummy will thank you later.

What a treat this place is. It starts with meeting Scottys wife. She serves as hostess. Scotty pops out regularly to great people too. Both were born to this business. Genuine smiles on their faces and hugs for regulars. There were plenty of regulars in there today. I suspect that is the case most days. My wife got the corned beef and latkes. The corned beef was at least a four-star. The latkes were five-star. The best I have ever had. Big latkes. Crisp on the outside and meaty on the inside. I ordered the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. When I am looking for comfort food I will default to meatloaf over soup every time so I have had a lot of meat loaf on my life. Scotty’s will always be where I go for meatloaf in the future. Hands down the best I have had. My wife would agree with that. Savory and rich. Just incredible. Great service from every waitress. A smile on every face. Scotty and his wife are old school innkeepers. You can see that they love what they do. This is a comfort food restaurant. Everything is scratch made. The latkes were made from fresh potatoes not frozen shredded home fries. I can always tell when the potatoes have been frozen. Meat and potatoes, burgers, classic American breakfast and lunch foods. If that is what you are looking for get to Scotty’s. Other things. I give stars based on food and service. I do not include stuff like parking and access. Access is easy. Scotty’s is in a little strip mall right on Broad Street in Bexley. It is a very busy strip mall. When we arrived there was one parking space left and that was because someone was vacating that spot as we were pulling in. If you want quiet this is not the place for you. It is a noisy place but I found ut to be great fun because Scotty and his beautiful wife know how to keep things upbeat and friendly. Scotty’s is a deli. Don’t forget that part. Soups as well as meats and cheeses. Scotty also caters. Based on the food and the charm from Scotty and his wife this is the place I would go for a catered event.

How have I lived in Bexley for 3 years and never been to Scotty’s until today?! [bangs head on table repeatedly] Listen… from now on when the question is, «Where can I go on the east side for a quick, easy, and delicious breakfast or lunch?» — the definitive answer is Scotty’s Café. Let me tell you why… First of all, this strip-mall find is adorable. It’s a diner, but it’s no greasy spoon(not that there’s anything wrong with that). It’s big, bright, shiny, and clean. The décor is spot on. Second, the service is spectacular. Every single person I encountered was incredibly sweet and helpful, but not intrusive. I just love those places where they anticipate your needs and truly love taking care of people. If I ran an adorable café in Bexley/Eastmoor, it would be just like Scotty’s. Third, the food is delicious. They have a simple(but thorough enough) menu, and I definitely mean that as a compliment. I like it when a place chooses a focus and then executes it really well. For breakfast, it’s quick diner favorites and omelettes. For lunch, it’s sandwiches and salads. And bonus points for being gluten-free friendly! Yep, I can have all the toast and sandwiches that I want. For my first visit, I went with eggs, bacon, home fries, and gf toast. It was everything I wanted it to be! Scotty’s also has a huge catering business, so definitely keep them in mind for an upcoming event. And last, the price. Two of us had huge breakfasts, with coffee and tea, for $ 16. I cannot wait to come back, and I’m sure this will be in my regular rotation now. The only slight issue is the hours: Weekdays only, and they close in the early afternoon. But if you can sneak away for some weekday fun, I guarantee it’ll be worth it.

I am truly blown away by how amazing this place is. We were greeted by Scotty and his wife. Ushered to a clean little table and received prompt service. I have many food allergies and am used to getting a plain salad and plain grilled chicken. Scotty heard about my food allergy issues and came and had a conversation for me about what I can have. He then went in back and surprised me with a handmade salad dressing using fresh fruits, and surprised me with a special dessert that I could have. I have never had a restaurant go so out of their way to serve me. I insisted several times that he not do anything, he wanted none of that. The food was delish, my dining companion said it was one of the best Reuben’s. Everything is fresh… including their bread(and she raved about it). The place was packed with regulars. Must go!

Okay folks, I was on my way down from Cleveland and wanted to stop in Columbus for a good meal. Like a lot of folks I used SIRI to find a great local place to eat. This one was one of ten on the list with 4.5 stars. Well we chose Scotty’s café. Once we walked into the restaurant I felt like«Norm» on the TV show cheers. These folks made me and my family feel like we’re home from a long haul. They were very attentive and encouraged questions about their menu. We ordered the Ruben Sandwich, the open faced meatloaf sandwich, and a traditional eggs bacon and pancakes. The food was absolutely top notch in every way. These folks poor a lot of love into their food. I highly recommend you stop here for a home cooked meal.

The place is operated by one of the area’s top event caterers and is open Monday through Friday. The place is extremely clean and the food is just great. We ordered breakfast items that arrived both hot and cooked to order. Our server was never far away with coffee refills. Notice the décor: one wall is filled with the owner family photos and the pride is evident. The wall alongside the restroom access is filled with accolades and awards from major events catered by the business, including a personal letter from Dave Thomas, the late founder of Wendy’s restaurants. Highly recommended.

Recent previous 5 star reviews are right on the money! I’m always looking for good breakfast places when I’m visiting from out of town(Southern California) and Scotty’s is a gem of a find in Columbus, Ohio. Great food, great service, great people! It doesn’t get any better than that. A must visit if you’re in the area.
