As you walk into skillet you are greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. Very cozy. I had the quail eggs with andouille sausage gravy and biscuits. So good. If I am ever in Columbus again I will be sure to check them out again!

Skillet is the best breakfast restaurant in Columbus. Even though this place is super expensive, the food is worth it, and we continue to go back. The place is very small, so get there early or be prepared to wait.

The food was amazing and very fresh tasting. Cold brew coffee is a must order here. I had the andoullie sausage buscuits and gravy and I was blown away! Very cool place that I wouldn’t have found had it not been on Unilocal.Worth a stop. 5 stars for sure.

Brunch at Skillet is a must-eat in Columbus. They showcase local, seasonal ingredients with a rotating menu. Usually it’s very creative & delicious, but every so often, it’s a little dialed-in. Today was unfortunately an example of the latter. We started with the Griddled Cinnamon Roll & it tasted like a repurposed, day-old cinnamon roll. It was dry & could have definitely used more sauce. The sausage gravy & biscuits was tasty & they always have light-as-air biscuits with perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. However, after having the chorizo & lamb versions previously, it was lacking flavor & was kind of blah in comparison. The crab in the soft shell crab & grits was so fishy it overwhelmed any other flavor in the dish. I’m sure it may be difficult to score home-runs on every dish when your menu is constantly changing, but I was a little disappointed today. I can’t give less than 4 stars though only because it was still a tasty meal… just not as good as I know it can be.

Skillet is the best breakfast in Columbus. Be prepared to wait for a table on the weekends. My party of 3 waited for 52 minutes on a Saturday. However, they do offer complimentary café brioso coffee while you wait –another reason they rank high. The long wait was quickly forgotten after getting inside. The space is very small. Maybe 30 seat capacity, hence the long wait times. All exposed brick interior and a semi-open kitchen. The menu is very impressive. Seasonal ingredients. High skill techniques employed in the dishes. I actually struggled to pick my dish, due to so many solid choices. I ended up selecting the Urban Breakfast which featured an outstanding croissant filled with ham and Gruyère, with ramp butter. The rest of my tables dishes were also of high caliber. Whoever is running the food program really knows what they are doing. The food is some of the highest quality I’ve had in a long time in Columbus. I will not hesitate to come back and dine again. Absolutely recommend dining here.

I can see why this place gets such rave reviews! Had a lovely lunch here on a gorgeous day. We sat in a booth by the window, and the area is so cute. We got there at the tail end of lunch. I felt kinda bad, because the staff weren’t very subtle about the fact that they closed in 40 mins. Our server was super nice though, and full of personality. We got out of their hair before closing time, because we’re not assholes. You know the type… First of all– their raspberry iced tea is the sweet nectar of whatever god you believe in. We tried the cheese omelet. Perfectly cooked, fluffy yet cheesy. We both loved the micro greens on top. If the fried potatoes with cheese curds and ramps are on the menu you must order them! One of the best things I’ve had in C-bus. There was only one side order of biscuits & gravy so I snatched those up. Not your traditional style, but delicious. Love this place.

Ok. What a treat! We had the Caramelized onion omelette, fingerling potatoes with leeks, and Biscuits & gravy with ham and eggs. Try the hot sauce, spicy but tasty with the potatoes and eggs. All were awesome! Service was excellent too.

This was the final stop during a weekend of ferocious feasting in Columbus. We were nervous about going to Skillet lest the Easter brunch crowd overwhelm this diminutive establishment. Apparently, and much to our delight, all the churchgoers had filled up on the body and blood of Christ cuz we were seated with no wait at all right around noon. The meal got off to an inauspicious start when we scoured the somewhat concise menu for the corned beef hash we saw pictures of on Unilocal.Alas, it was nowhere to be found. Fortunately, almost everything on the menu called out to us, so we persevered. We settled on the Hog & Hominy, Crispy Fingerlings, and the Lamb Sausage. I was a little nervous to try pork cheeks, but my GF agreed to hold my hand. It was amazing! And it went very well with the hominy and lamb sausage we cut up and added to the dish. The fingerlings were equally delicious, but we had to stop ourselves from devouring the whole plate in order to save some room for dessert. Our waitress told us the Salted Honey Pie was the best pie she’s ever had, so we took her recommendation, but not without a huge grain of salt… I mean, she does work there after all. Suffice it to say, she was not being biased! This pie was out of this world good. It came with handmade vanilla bean whipped cream which was the perfect complement. Even the coffee was good and came in a fancy mug. We ate very well all weekend, but this final meal was both of our favorite. The restaurant is small and they don’t take reservations, but you can call ahead when you’re on your way and they’ll put your name name down.

Best.Omelette.Ever. While in Columbus, do Skillet. When we pulled up, we were met with a bunch of people waiting outside. We were told 6 parties were in front of us but not quoted a time. We decided to grin & bear it — And I’m so glad we grizzlied it out! We ended up waiting about 45 minutes for our table but Skillet has Café Brioso coffee outside for patrons waiting. I don’t know I have ever seen a restaurant do something of this nature and it was such a sweet, much appreciated extra touch. Just one example of Skillet going the extra mile in customer satisfaction! The only thing to keep in mind is you will be waiting outside, so heed with caution depending on the weather. Once we were called and walked in, I could see why the wait builds up as Skillet is a fairly small spot. Maybe about 15 tables? It’s a packed small space but you don’t feel like you are smashed with strangers or anything of that nature. I found it cozy, welcoming and an overall chill and inviting atmosphere vibe. The food focus is farm to fork which for me is always an appreciated concept. Who would scoff at eating fresh, locally sustainable ingredients and the restaurant they are dining in being friendly with local farms?! I tried the Corned Beef Hash($ 14) which was served in a warm skillet and quite tasty. The real winner for me was my Farmstead Cheese Omelette($ 12) — Laurel Valley Creamery Harvester, Gruyère, and white cheddar folded into a Copia Farm four egg omelette, topped with some greens. The different cheeses melded so well into each other and the omelette was slathered in butter. On my first cut into the omelette I could quickly see it was the smoothest omelette I’d ever had. I have never had such a perfectly cooked omelette that was so simple yet delicious. I’ve been daydreaming about the milky egg delight since I had it. As delicious as all the carb heavy starters sounded, I felt a bit better I couldn’t eat them(healthy living yo) when I heard most were not baked in house. Service was superb! Our server was personable, funny, seemed to be genuinely happy to be there and attentive. What more could we ask for? Brunch is served Wednesday thru Sunday from 8am to 2pm and it’s a must do in Columbus! On the weekend, you’re going to wait for a table but it’s WELL worth it. Trust. Excellent service, delicious food and overall fabulous experience!

Great that it’s a local place serving primarily local foods, which I support, but they do not have options for vegetarians. A disappointment. After waiting about 45 minutes for a table, I ended up with spicy grits… most of the menu items had pork in them and when asked if the pork could be removed, it couldn’t as it was pre-made. Overall, I will not be returning due to the limited options on the menu.

Atmosphere– It’s a small cozy breakfast/brunch place. It is extremely tiny inside and the wait can be long on the weekends. Service– A Food– I have been here so many times. The shrimp and grits is delicious. I would recommend trying everything and go often. Their menu changes and it’s yummy, fresh, little pricy but 100% worth it.

Skillet has never been inconsistent. Its amazing attention to detail and marrying of amazing flavor is unmatched by any breakfast joint in Columbus. My recommendation is the Burnt Ends Hash. Have it with a side of the steak bacon(a second place to Katalina’s Korner, though!) Intimate and comfy, it’s best to come early in the morning to ensure a prompt seat… The wait can be long, but it’s so worth it. My only gripe is that the servers smoke out front/to the side of the restaurant. But meh, they wash up after and it’s really not anything to get too hung up on. It’s not what I wanted to smell when I was walking into eat, though. So I’m subtracting a half star and rounding up. Go eat.

Skillet is no joke. If you’re looking for some seriously dope food, drag your hungover ass out of bed and get to Skillet. My friends and I went this morning and yes, I know, I should’ve went a while ago-alas, today was my first time. One of my friends ordered a simple salad and biscuit, the other biscuits and gravy that had an egg on top, another an omelette and some fingerling potatoes and I ordered the griddled cheese sandwich that came with a small salad and cup of soup. Everything was delectable and fantastic. If I could cook that well, I’d never leave my house and I’d be needing to hit the gym daily based on said diet. I mean, the coffee was even divine. How can you beat it? You can’t. Hit up Skillet. You won’t be sorry. #lovemesomeskillet

Let start saying that this place is amazing!!! I’ve been there a couple of times. I must admit the wait for a table is crazy, but its just because the place is so good that became popular. This is the kind of place that I will pick things that are adventurous. Come on!!! Who come to restaurants like this to just order a regular omelet or something simple! Definitely, having an open mind about choosing dishes like the pork belly and grits or other elaborated dishes pays well. Service is great. Dessert yum yum yum i’ll be posting pictures later!

So, I really really wanted to love this place. I’ve heard such great things about it and all the reviews were fantastic. Not sure if this was the reason or the annoyingly long wait, but I can tell you that neither the food nor the ambience was worth the wait for me. Our server was polite but seemed rather rushed. In fact everything seemed rather rushed here. The tea was lukewarm. I ordered the smoked chicken omelette, which was edible but nothing great. My wife had the french toast. It was good, but again nothing exceptional. Maybe, the restaurant was just having a bad day when we were there, so I’ve been meaning to go back, but recalling the long wait…

I came when they first opened, and as friends left the area, I only recently made it back. The food is(and was) delicious — and their hot sauce is that right amount of flavor and fire(for me, I know some of my friends will whine it’s too weak, some will say it’s too hot… so buyer beware). The sausage and biscuits, the cinnamon roll, …everything between us… it was delicious, with good service on the unusually warm Friday we found ourselves in the neighborhood. As it gets colder, I can see people skipping it — their is no «windbreaker» when you open the door, really, which means if you can’t grab a seat, you’re stuck waiting, but it’s something that if you’re in the area — try to check it out!

My husband and I went here for his birthday brunch on a Friday morning, it was fantastic! We had always heard about how great their food was but just never made it there. Well we are glad we finally got there and we’ll definitely be back. I imagine it is probably very very busy on the weekends, in fact, our waitress told us if we came back on the weekends to call ahead to get our name on the list because they usually have an hour wait. But that morning we were able to be seated right away. The food was delicious! We shared a griddled cinnamon roll, which was phenom. Already drooling thinking about the buttery, sugary, cinnamony griddled goodness! I got an Autumn Hash and my husband got the Duck Biscuits and Gravy. The hash was excellent, great use of seasonal veggies and good flavors. I snagged a bite of the biscuits and gravy and although I’m not much of a biscuits fan these were very tasty, the gravy was super flavorful and had a little kick at the end. The atmosphere is definitely cozy but charming. The service was great from start to finish, our waitress was very kind and helped us decide between what items we had our eye on. The music selection was AWESOME! I told the waitress how much I loved the playlist they had going(Eagles, CCR, etc.) and she said they switch it up from time to time but it’s reflective of how their feeling each day, I was a huge fan. Can’t wait to go back!

Skillet is a Columbus institution, or at least, it used to be. With all of the great brunch places that have sprouted up around town in the past five years, Skillet just doesn’t quite seem as special anymore, and maybe that’s why it took so long for me see what all the fuss was about. I’ve heard of lines out the door and hour long waits in order to get in here, so they must be doing something right. We showed up around 9:30 on a Saturday morning and were seated right away! We started off with coffee and the griddle cinnamon roll. I’m not sure where they get their coffee from, but it was really good, and I’m not even a huge coffee fan. The cinnamon roll was huge and delicious as well, but I’m not sure if I liked it as much as ones I’ve had at The Pearl and Fox in the Snow. For my meal, I went with the lamb chorizo biscuits and gravy with eggs. That chorizo had a really nice kick to it that I enjoyed, and the eggs and biscuit were great too. For anyone saying they leave here still feeling hungry, I’d suggest grabbing this plate and trying again. Of course, it could have also been the huge cinnamon bun I had just eaten. I ordered a side of the thick cut bacon as well, which was tasty, but I wasn’t blown away by it, especially for 3 pieces at $ 7. My girlfriend had the Huevos Rancheros, and it was good, but again, with that price tag I was hoping for more. I almost feel at this point the high price tag for Skillet is based on the name alone, because I really don’t need to be paying that much for breakfast/lunch when there’s so many other places around town(Guild House, The Pearl, Philco) that all do it great as well for a bit less. By the time we left around 10:30, not only was there no wait, but half the restaurant was empty. I don’t want to knock them too much, because I enjoyed my meal, but I don’t feel like Skillet really stands out the way it may have 5 years ago.

I loved this place! I waited about 30 min for a table and it was well worth it. That’s not something you will hear me say often. The décor is cozy. Nothing fancy. This is a farm to table restaurant and you can see the pride they take in their offerings. I of course started with a coffee. I love the container the cream comes in and the coffee was fresh and delicious. Way better then SB. Our waitress was prompt and attentive. For my main dish I went with the goat curry. It was tender and full of flavor and definitely something I would order again. My little man went with a mushroom omelet. I tried it and it was also good. I wouldn’t say this is my favorite place for breakfast in Columbus but it is well worth the visit.

Upscale brunch with an urban twist! Wow, words can’t express the food I just ate. Quant location in German village with limited parking locations and limited seating. The service was top notch and the food quality blew me away. Small portions with a sizable price tag. I had the huevos rancheros. Two large crispy, fried corn tortillas with black beans, corn, pork shoulder and two eggs are the highlight of this dish. Ask for their homemade hot sauce made with habanero peppers. Smoky and savory kicked up a notch. My husband had the pork belly skillet hash with fingerling potatoes. The pork set it off. The tender pork along with the semi firm potatoes along with two eggs over medium made this dish amazing. So glad we experienced this restaurant and can’t wait to come back!
