Good food good atmosphere. French martini $ 8.00 really you can’t beat that. Booze in Ohio is outrageously cheap. I had the BLT pizza and a lobster bisque soup. My wife had the ceviche seafood. Very good food and the wait staff was fabulous. Very attentive.

The environment is good. However I’m just not ready for a Sunday brunch that is too sweet or too salty.

C and I returned to Columbus and decided to give Spagio another try, just to see what it’s like after 6 years. We were treated to a balmy April evening and dined outside. We shared a lobster bisque, a mushroom and artichoke pizza and a sacher torte. The pizza was not as good as we remember, but perfectly okay. The bisque was quite nice, but the sacher torte was sublime. Foor: 4 stars Service: 4 stars Ambiance: 4 stars

This used to be one of my top favorite restaurants, but as I went there more frequently, their entrees really hit the spot, or just over priced, depending on what you order. I thoroughly enjoyed their brunch as did my family. It had a great variety, good quality, good quantity, and good drink menu. Their appetizers are hit or miss as the same with their pasta dishes. I say they have quality ingredients, but sometimes over priced on how the prepare it. Seafood and Steaks are good. Pizza takeout was a disappointment, the pizza we ordered did not look like the ones we saw on people’s tables, so maybe the wood fired BLT pizza and the buffalo were just let downs(maybe a bad night?). Their customer service is good and typically don’t have to wait too long for tables. I’d recommend this place to try, but would suggest others first.

We made reservations at Spagio for Valentines Day! And while it wasn’t our first choice, they did not disappoint. The valet was so polite, despite the negative temperatures, and downpour of snow! The hostess, while busy, was polite and attentive. And the food was excellent, the«three pigs» app offered in the VDay menu was delicious, my finances lobster ravioli did not disappoint, and my Amish chicken was too good not to finish despite the huge portion! But the real reason for the 5-stars was our INCREDIBLE server, Jonny! Our reservations had to have been on the later end of the shift(8pm) but that did not stop our kind server from treating us like we were his first table of the night. He had ample suggestions, was incredibly prompt, and thorough. The rose at the end of our meal was the icing on the cake. We overheard his interactions with other tables and he was incredible all around. We will be back and asking for his service!

We love this place! Warm atmosphere, friendly bartenders — located right in the center of the hustle and bustle of Grandview Avenue. We generally sit at the bar(which is small, unless you go to the adjacent wine bar — which is just as nice.) There is outdoor seating in the summertime as well. Food and service are great.

The dog statue is inexplic– able, but dessert tasted thick With hazelnut cream. The potatoey dream Made up for lukewarm feuille de bric. I came here a couple of weeks ago as a Restaurant Week destination. I’m in love with the funky décor. Like, if Team Spagio came to my house for personal services, I’d ask them to redecorate my condo before I asked them to cook for me. So I was that jerk who gets to a restaurant and then immediately gets on the phone for half an hour. That wasn’t my plan, but I got a call from my sweetie as soon as I was seated and menued, and I wasn’t going to be able to talk to her for the rest of the night. Probably my fault, then, that the server took a really long time to come take my order. I spotted him talking with the hostess and then the two of them looking at me. OOPS. Immediately afterward, I made eye contact with him, he came over, and I put the phone down to order(I was only a silver-star jerk, not a gold-star one). I apologized for the phone as soon as I was off, and he said, «Oh, it’s no problem at all!» kindly enough that I’m pretty sure he mostly meant it. My first course was a yummy greens salad with manchego cheese(I prefer not to eat dairy, but I knew what I was getting into here). It was all fresh and light and had that kind of mélange of flavors that inspires you to use words like«mélange,» even if you’re too lazy to use the appropriate accent marks. For my main course, I had salmon cooked in a pastry with asparagus, over mashed potatoes. It was absolutely gorgeous. As visually cool as the décor. The potatoes were scrumptious, and I had never had en feuille de bric before(I totally just looked that up again; I haven’t been able to remember the phrase all this time) and found it a nice preparation. The asparagus was crisp, but the salmon was not as warm in the middle as I’d have liked. It wasn’t undercooked, but it was on the rare side compared with the rest, and I’d eaten far too much of the dish by then to bother asking for it to be fixed. The dessert was a hazelnut roll that happened to be gluten-free. I knew my tummy would regret it but my tastebuds would not, and I chowed the whole thing down. My sweetie is a huge(as in HUGE) Nutella fan, so I was excited to tell her I’d finally tried the«real» thing(as opposed to a homemade vegan kind we’ve made a couple of times), but there were so many other flavors in the hazelnut roll that I couldn’t pick the Nutella out if I tried. That’s a good thing; it was a whole tasty swirl of yum. This seemed like it would make a great date spot, and if my sweetie were local, I’d probably be looking into it for Valentine’s Day. The server was very patient with me, and the food was good aside from the unevenly cooked salmon.

We were greeted by a friendly staff(yay!) who then proceeded to seat us across a long restaurant despite obvious difficulties with walking that one of our party showed(wtf?). Note to staff: where you want to seat someone should take a backseat to what might be best for that customer. The next thing I noticed was the music from the fifties and sixties which, perhaps coincidently, was the last time the furnishings were fresh. Speaking of fresh, a couple of things should be fresh regardless of furnishings. If the lime edges are brown, for example, don’t put that lime in a drink — throw it away. If the shrimp last saw the ocean during a previous presidential administration, don’t serve it. On the bright side, our wait staff was excellent. This alone, though, is not enough to entice us to a return visit anytime soon.

We stumbled on to this place about 4 – 5 months ago and have been back several times since. In the heat of Grandview, this place reminds me very much of something one would see in NYC. Great food and menu that changes with the seasons and highlights locally sourced ingredients. We always go for brunch and the food has been excellent. Omelette of the day is always worth a try. I always have the New Yorker with eggs, smoked salmon and capers. Very tasty and nice departure from more traditional breakfast fare. While I have never tried the desserts I have seen them in the display case on the way out and they look amazing. Outside seating is nice weather permitting as the people watching is a nice bonus. Service has also always been top notch and the staff have been very knowledgable and great at highlighting what is really great about this place.

I got the feeling spagio catered to a certain taste of people, as they weren’t at all what I would like or was expecting. For starters, the layout is confusing. There’s two Spagio’s side by side. One is a sit in restaurant, which has an outdoor patio going in front of the other Spagio, which is an indoor wine bar. However, despite them being co-owned and even co-run, as servers cross indoors between them, you can only order the food from the restaurant in that Spagio or on the patio, and can only enjoy the desserts and wine selection from the wine bar Spagio inside. Secondly, the food selection for the restaurant was lacking, I felt. As a vegetarian, a lot of it sounded good from my time eating meat, but was unavailable for me. The 3 other options of pizza, ravioli, and ratatouille didn’t intrigue me. And for a restaurant called Spagio, I was really hoping for some spaghetti. Third, in a value aspect, Spagio left something to be desired. All of the entrée options were $ 11+, the wine selections were a bit overpriced for what they were, with an average, half bottle of wine going for more than its full bottle in the store. With prices like those, I was expecting to be romanced by Spagio somehow. Some bread and olives? Maybe a bit of entertainment on a gorgeous Saturday night? Instead, you pay higher end prices for mid range food and no fluff. In the end, I went with a tomato basil pizza which was $ 12, my date had three cheese ravioli which was $ 15, and we shared a half bottle of wine at $ 18 so we could each have a real glass of wine(not those 4 sip glasses that they like to pour you in restaurants. The food was very good, but not quite $ 12⁄15 good. The service was decent, though I really wasn’t a fan of my server. Overall, I think Spagio’s has great potential, but some huge flaws it would need to work through to gain its identity as a restaurant. Is it a Mom & Pop Olive Garden or is it a high end bistro? Right now it’s a bit of the worst of both, and that doesn’t leave a good taste in your mouth.

Fancy pants on the street. Well I guess there are seats inside but I have sat outside every time I have eaten here. The food is a little pricy but well worth it. They have a nice Italian style with a little flare to it. I have had their mushroom soup twice and each time I wanted to order more.

I went here on a double date recently during the Grandview Hop on a Saturday night. We were pleased that we didn’t have to wait too long for a table, but the recent rainstorm may have been a factor. We sat outside, which provided us with a nice view of the passing crowd and everything taking place in the street. Our server was prompt and helpful in describing the menu. I did not see a whole lot of vegetarian options on the menu, but saw a cheese-filled pasta and was glad for my selection! It tasted great and I cannot imagine ordering anything else if I ever make it back here. My wife had the lobster ravioli and she thought it was decent, but not excellent. The portion was pretty small, which I think was a disappointment. There was a nice draft beer selection and I was not even aware of the selection of wine and beer inside until I went into use the restroom late in the meal. Although the indoor seating area is surrounded by wine and clear-glass refrigerators containing beer and wine, it felt very classy. The indoors reminded me of places I’ve been in Olde Town Alexandria, VA, which is a compliment. Spagio was a bit pricey for my tastes, but if you’re looking to impress a date or you’re looking for a classy night out, this may be your place.

We had a wonderful experience. Starting with the service everyone was very nice and attentive. The food was great! We shared the antipasto plate and the shrimp pizza. So delicious! Their Sunday special is 20% off a bottle of wine– awesome! And their food was reasonable priced and good quality. I can’t wait to come back!

Despite living close to downtown Grandview, Valentine’s Day was my first time visiting Spagio, and the girlfriend and I had a a wonderful meal. They had a special Valentine’s Day menu, like most places, so this review may not be as helpful as far as the food is concerned to those visiting on a normal night. The restaurant itself was super cozy, and they had a cool little square bar in the middle on top of another bigger bar to the left when you come in. You pass by the desserts, which looked, and tasted, amazing. Our server was extremely helpful and kind and maybe a bit socially awkward, but we really liked him. They have decent wine selection, and my girlfriend loved the wine she had. A lot. Not to take away from the food, but she said it might have been the highlight. To start off we went with the calamari, which they do have on the menu normally, and the server told us it was their most popular appetizer. The dish was covered in a sweet Thai chili glaze, and it the calamari were so tender, they almost melted in your mouth. We both thoroughly enjoyed this course. For entrees, I had the half duck, and my girlfriend ordered the NY strip. The duck was awesome. I love duck, and this was cooked perfectly, and the fig sauce that came with it was delicious. My girlfriend didn’t love her steak, and I didn’t think it was that great either. NY strips aren’t my first choice when it comes to steak. She also loved my duck though and was definitely disappointed she hadn’t ordered one either. For dessert, our server recommended the Sachre torte, and I’m not sure if he was pushing it, because they made too many, but I didn’t regret my decision. It was filled with chocolate mousse, and I managed to stuff it all down, regretfully. They have a pretty large dessert menu, so I’d check it out if you’re ever there. My girlfriend received a rose when they brought out the checks, which I thought was very nice(although that rose was dead within 24 hours). The meal was pricey but about what I expected for a special dinner. The regular menu on their website interests me, and the food I had was definitely good enough for them to warrant a second visit. I will be back and hopefully not dropping as much on the next meal!

Saturday brunch at 1pm. I’ve visited for lunch and dinner many times, but never the brunch. Outstanding, just outstanding. The selections were varied. They were prepared perfectly. Service was nicely attentive. Great atmosphere. We had one person with a walker, and they were extremely accommodating and helpful. As an aside, the restaurant is always impeccably clean, including the bathrooms. Very nice touch.
