This place came highly recommended to me by two of my friends. I came here to get my first tattoo done and I can’t say it was super super awesome. It wasn’t a bad experience, but it could’ve been better. I would come back, just not to the artist that I had. I was a walk in because I just wanted a simple quote done in a specific font so I wasn’t worried about who did it. His name was Nathan and he was a super cool dude. No complaints about his skills as an artist. But when my tattoo was done, he offered no information about tattoo aftercare and didn’t even bandage the tattoo up. I even asked him if I could put my shirt back down and he just said yep! Basically, my only issue was that he didn’t offer any advice about tattoo aftercare. It was like he expected me to already know even though I told him it was my first tattoo. Overall though, very pleased with it. Pain level wasn’t bad and Nathan said I could take breaks in between if I needed to

I literally called at 6:30pm to see what time they close on a Wed(8pm by the way). Ben picked up the phone, and I asked if it was by appt only. He said it depends, but they usually operate with appts. Then he asked what I wanted, and I said something small with 2 lines of letters/words and an arrow on my wrist. He asked if I had the font picked out, and I said pretty much. He told me that the faster I could get down there, the faster he could tattoo me. So I was like alright, be there ASAP. I got in a little bit before 7pm, walked in, and asked for Ben. I had been thinking about this tattoo idea for a long time and showed him. He went in the back to draw it up and gave a few suggestions which were helpful. I filled out paperwork, and he scanned a copy of my ID. I was happy with the design, and we went to the back to his work area. I have a decent pain tolerance and was ready for it. He asked if it was my first tattoo, and I said yes. He then explained that it feels like a burning sensation. That actually eased my mind because it was described well — I felt a bit more prepared for it haha. He first did on small line to see how I would react, it really wasn’t bad at all. Some parts on my wrist were a little worse than others, but not pain that I couldn’t handle. I’ve had a good amount of ear piercings before so I can take a bit of pain. We talked about random things, he has a really awesome dvd collection, and he had his TV on some channel. I think the background noise was helpful and eclectic mix of owls and roosters was really helpful as a distraction and pretty cool. The tattoo itself took about 15 minutes I think, it was very quick and as painless as possible. I got out of there around 8pm so it was perfect timing. I really appreciated that he was still okay with me coming in late and worked up until closing instead of asking me to make an appt and come back because I can be a little impulsive sometimes if I really wanted something. It was a great first tattoo experience, and everything was very clean and neat in there. I’m thinking of a few other tattoo ideas now! Edit: it’s been over a year now, and there wasn’t much fading, but after it healed, you can tell the detail wasn’t as prominent and the line is thicker than I would’ve wanted. The thickness and thinness also vary when it should be more uniform. I’m not upset about it, but I think it may show the artists can’t do as much detail and can’t create as thin of lines that I would’ve liked.

I had my first tattoo performed here this week. It was a simple tattoo and Jeremiah did exactly what I wanted. He was ever so patient with me during the placement. It was quick, clean and as painless as a tattoo can be. Highly recommended.

My wife got a tattoo done by Jeremiah Ferguson and it was awesome. So I had him do mine too and I am pleased. He is awesome to talk to while getting your tattoo done. My wife and I both highly recommend him at Stained Skin!

I met with Ben and then emailed him a picture of what I wanted. He took that picture and made it GREAT! He saw what I wanted and made it better. This was my first tattoo and he answered all of my questions and concerns. I want an artist and a skilled technician, and he was both. I would will go back to him in a second if I get a second tat. I work in a hospital so I was aware of hygiene and had no complaints. Everything was up to my expectations.

My wife has gotten 2 pieces and I have gotten one here at stained Skin. All three were expertly done by Ben. Ben’s work was great and he was a professional all during each of the session we were with him. The studio was clean and the staff was friendly. I am planning my second tatto for this spring and Ben will be getting another visit by me.

I’ve got two pieces from Andy which I absolutely love. Love Andy, Love the shop, love the location! However, nothing against poor Ben, he was not the friendliest fella. I have 2 friends who had some work done by him and were both very unsatisfied in not only the quality of the tats, but in the fact that Ben was kind of a turd & continually«scolded» them for various reasons during their 20 minute tattoos. You could freehand the Mona Lisa on me, but if I’d rather gargle razorblades than ‘visit’ with you whilst being inked, you might want to take some socializing classes.

I got my second(and so far, most recent) tattoo at Stained Skin. While I thought the shop itself was very nice and a pleasure to be in compared to plenty of other tattoo studios I’ve visited, the level of service I received was not quite perfect. I had a specific design in mind for my tattoo and discussed this with the artist who ended up doing my tattoo; it had been sketched for me by my girlfriend at my request(and as a gift). The artist– who is no longer at Stained Skin– seemed to have no qualms about the design and we started almost immediately. The process was about what you would expect, although bland; my artist was not a conversationalist, which some people might like, but a little chat before I fell into the trance of the needle-gun would have been nice. At any rate the tattoo was quick and painless, and I left satisfied. It wasn’t until later, when it was all clean and healed, that my girlfriend noticed that a section of the tattoo hadn’t been colored in. It was a rather small area to be sure, but the error was plain as day. Now I’m fairly certain that if I had called Stained Skin and told them what was up I would have received a free touch-up, but I never quite scheduled it and now, who knows, I’ll get it filled in when I get my next tattoo(if I do). Still, the oversight in the first place was fairly shocking and seemed sloppy to me. Again, this artist isn’t at Stained Skin now so my experience may not be perfectly valid. Despite this small error I was pleased with the price and the service, and I remain satisfied with the tattoo. While I did like some of the art I saw from other artists in the book of samples the store had, I think I’ll try a different studio next time I get inked in Columbus.
