Great experience with Jay — he found knots and tension I didn’t even know I had. Asked me a little about my job and told me what kind of massage he would recommend. He made me feel comfortable and made sure to tell me to let him know if something was too intense. Will definitely be back.

I love, love, love Jay at Stanforth Massage! I’ve heard great things about Jay for years, but I never seemed to make it in to see him. I’m pretty regular with Ryan at Urban Village Massage — who is also amazing — but he doesn’t really have weekend or evening availability. From time to time I get this crazy pain in my right shoulder, and it can be pretty unbearable. And on a Friday afternoon I found myself with a flare-up and in desperate need for some help. Thankfully I remembered Jay and that he sometimes will take off-hours appointments. Oh happy day — he could get me in the same evening. During the daytime hours, Jay works out of his downtown studio, and the rest of the time he works out of his home studio. I had never been to someone’s house before for a massage, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. As soon as I walked in, any fears were quickly gone. Jay welcomed me at the door to his lovely home, and he led me upstairs to his professional home studio. Jay talked with me for a few minutes to hear what was hurting, and then he told me to get undressed to whatever level I felt comfortable. When he came back in the room and started at my head, he spent the first bit of the massage explaining his technique and how much he appreciated feedback throughout it. Jay was professional and friendly — we chatted quite a bit at first, and then I kinda went into a trance… yep, the massage was *that* good. Jay’s hands are magical and he quickly identified all my problem areas in my shoulder. After about 45 minutes of working on my shoulder, I could stretch it and move it more than I have in quite a while. I scheduled a 90-minute massage so that I could still have some relaxation too, and Jay definitely did that. I swear I thought was dreaming! While I know I will keep seeing my boy, Ryan, at Urban Village, I now have a secondary place to go too! Jay is a miracle worker, and I cannot wait to see him again!
