I do not know why this location is so quiet. There’s never a wait and usually only has a few people in it! The food is delicious. The wait staff is friendly. Our cook even have our son(9 mos.) a little bit of egg so that he could eat too! I like this place much better than the other hibachi restaurants in town. We will definitely continue to come here!

I haven’t been here in years(I used to come here quite often) and I won’t be back. I don’t know what happened to this place. I came in with a few friends for a birthday gathering as we can only get together once a month or less at 1:30 pm for lunch and the menu and restaurant says the place is open until 3pm. We sat down ordered drinks and were catching up and looking at the menu. At a little before 1:45pm the sushi chef shut off the lights and left. We asked the waitress if he’d be back as we were just handing her our orders. She said we don’t have sushi after 2pm(in a rude way) I said oh I wish you told us as we had been here for awhile and could have ordered more quickly as the menu says 3 we thought you finished serving at 3. She says we always stop at 2 in a very rude way. We said can we order or is it a problem. She looked annoyed and said yes I’ll tell the sushi chef to come back. Anyway it was a very rude atmosphere from the get go and we decided to try a new place down the rude which ended up with amazing sushi and better service and smiles. I won’t be back here.

I have been a few times for sushi. It’s right around the corner from my house so it’s out of convenience. Last night was the first time we had hibachi there. The whole thing was bad. The cook didn’t do any«tricks» he actually never said a word. I’m ok with that but I brought my kid who thinks it’s the coolest thing for them to make an onion volcano. I ordered scallops. He put them on the grill PRECOOKED. He basically reheated them and threw some super sweet crappy sauce on them for $ 17. I won’t be returning. Even for my convenient sushi.

It makes me sad to write this. This used to be one of my favorite places in Columbus. The food is still ok, but the overall experience makes me not want to go back again. It started going down hill about a year or so ago so I waited a while. I went back today and felt like I was inconveniencing the rude staff. Not to mention all the handwritten signs on the way in to the restaurant«please end phone calls, changes to their hours, etc. I mean it begs the question do they really even want customers in there?

I went for dinner a week ago when the restaurant looked almost empty. Soon enough I realized why there was so few people in such a big place. I will start with the crapy attitude of the female server who was rushing us to order(like she had so many people waiting on her). We ordered hibachi vegetables and scallops And vegetable tempura. We sadly had to returned the main dishes because they were overdone… well and overpriced for that quality. Manager was not to be around and server did not handle things properly. In fact, she refused to solve any issue for us and all she had was excuses to explain why dishes are always cooked that way. The salad on the side was just a bunch of lettuce with dressing. The miso soup was bland and sort of salty. Hibachi sauce was bland as well. We left the place under the impression that this restaurant had seen better days. Right now it needs new staff, new reasonable priced menu and a better cook. Never ever come back!

Restaurant feels dirty. Generally, the entire menu is overpriced. The quality of sushi is sub-par at best. The lunch bento boxes are okay but priced at $ 11-$ 13 which is a bit steep considering the lackluster items. One who qualifies buffet sushi as «real sushi» might enjoy this place. The service is dull and disappointing. Skip it!

I tried the sushi and ginger salad here today — not a good experience I will not be back. The ginger salad dressing was weird… Not in a good way The spicy tuna roll tasted weird I contemplated sending it back but I was honestly too hungry to wait for something else– the tuna was minced not whole tuna — inferior quality The eel roll sauce was sweet like maple and was different than any other eel sauce I’ve had — maybe the roll would have been better w/o it — the sushi menu did not say this would be on top… Waitress came to check on us once… poor service Honestly Publix sushi is better

Was so excited to find a great sushi place in Columbus. I had tried one other Sushi place before being recommended Sushiko. While the place was not busy(it was 7 on a Monday night) I was a tad worried at first. But once we sat down and looked at the menu I started to feel more relieved. The sushi was fresh and they have a pretty good selection of specialty rolls. My husband and I will be coming back for sure.

Okay sushi. Okay service. Over all just an okay place. Nothing overwhelmingly good or bad. Honestly, I only frequent this place because it is a convenient location. The main thing that struck me was a much smaller selection of sushi rolls than I anticipated.

Tried this place for the first time today for a to go order… just sushi rolls… they all tasted so boring & blah(cardboard taste) I was super disappointed… the sushi rolls were 80% rice(tasted like run of the mill grocery store white rice not sticky rice(and the 20% fillings I got were not freshly made… The soy sauce had more flavor than my Emily roll my volcano roll and spicy tuna roll it was so gross I tossed it out halfway though and made a sandwich instead… never again.

We went to Sushiko for dinner tonight for my daughters birthday. We haven’t been in quite a few years. I remembered why tonight. We get there and it starts out ok as we are seated pretty quickly but at a hibachi table with just the four of us. The waitress: She quickly comes and takes our order which is odd because I thought they would try to fill the table but can’t complain about quick service I guess. She brings the drinks and the salads and we don’t see her again until the end of the meal. My husband had to get up and get us some straws himself. She finally comes back after we have all gotten our food cooked to offer him another beer. His glass was only empty for the entire meal. When she does come she is adjusting her clothes like she’s been having sex in the back alley somewhere. I had to get up and get our to go boxes and someone else brought us our check. She shows up as we are walking away from the table with some cake rolls or something with a candle in it. Too late. The cook: He was the most boring, un-entertaining cook I have ever had at a Japanese restaurant. All of the other cooks were setting their grills on fire and spinning eggs and talking and smiling. Our cook did nothing. No fire, no show, no smile, nothing. He barely even cooked the food. Pieces of the chicken were still raw, I ordered a well done steak, my husband a medium steak — mine came off the grill at the same time as his. The shrimp my kids got were raw in some places still. At the checkout where my husband was paying $ 96 for four people to eat dinner and 2 beers, the cashier asked how things were. He said«they could have been better,» the response he got was«it could have been better? ok.» Needless to say my daughter was very disappointed with the entire thing and we won’t be going back.

The hibachi food was pretty good, and reasonably priced, but I wouldn’t really recommend the sushi. I tried the volcano roll, and just wasn’t very impressed. The food came out really quick though so it’s definitely a place to go if you need a quick meal.

One of the better sushi restaurants in Columbus, Georgia. Service is good and sushi is great. Hibachi items are average in quality.

Hands down my favorite sushi restaurant in Columbus. Although I will agree with other reviewers that their prices have gone up and service has gone down. However, I’m so hopelessly addicted to their specialty rolls that it doesn’t deter me and I eat here frequently. I love their ginger dressing and miso soup but since the soup and salad are no longer included with the sushi, I usually skip it since the price is so unnecessary. The lunch specials are a great deal though! I can’t say it enough — the specialty rolls will blow you away. Don’t miss out.

With the help of other Unilocaler’s opinions, we plugged in the address to our GPS and tried this sushi place. We entered the restaurant but there was no friendly greetings like«irasshaimase…»! So we stood there for a just a few minutes waiting to be seated. We checked the menu and carefully read what’s in the sushi roll. We decided to order the Unagi, Tiger roll, Volcano Roll and Sea Eel.(See photos) We give the sushi three stars and two stars for the service.

Another solid outing from Sushiko. I actually recommended it to my friend and his wife when they were in town and they weren’t disappointed in it either. I went to some other places that were recommended to my by my roommate and some friends but I really do enjoy the service and food here sushi wise-I have yet to eat their hibachi so I can’t comment on that. On this particular visit our waitress either seemed new or English definitely wasn’t her first language which really didn’t bother me. She was really very earnest and tried her best to try to go through the specials and drinks available but she stumbled over things a bit. Fortunately, it didn’t keep her from being attentive and she had someone else backing her up. Their standard sushi line up is good. The spicy tuna hand roll was okay, the tuna was a little dry but tasted fine. The salmon roll was perfect and the two pieces of unagi(my favorite) I had were quite good, very understated and not drowning in the sauce. I really quite liked that. I also ordered one of their inside out rolls: the T-N-T roll which was a interesting and I liked it! Tempura fried fish a mound of it on top of eight pieces of tuna and salmon and covered in spicy mayo, it was a sloppy but delicious mess. I’m so used to having sushi presented neatly in nicely organized little rolls but this was novel and tasty to boot.

I have a difficult time sometimes when I rate food in a city I don’t know too well. I’m giving it a three, which isn’t too shabby. If the same restaurant were in Atlanta, I’d probably give it a 2; and if I were in Asia, probably give it a… well, you get my point. It’s all relative and it really has to do with demand. It isn’t as if they have a Tsukiji fish market in their back yard. I guess my point is if you’re in Columbus for a while and really yearning for sushi, this might satisfy your craving. If you’re a real sushi buff and just in town for a short visit, you might want to try some other cuisine. Another pointer, stick to the very mainstream things and you’re a bit better off here. There isn’t quite the population to support demand and turnover for rarer items. The staff was also very nice and friendly, which was a bonus.
