Today was the second time I’ve had the Cheesy Truck. I had the Royale this time, which is their sandwich with Mac & Cheese and pulled pork. The pork was tender and very well seasoned. The Mac & Cheese was also very tasty, and seemed to be made from scratch. The flavored worked well together, and their Italian seasoned bread is amazing. The price was about average for this type of truck: $ 8 for a good size sandwich. Last time I tried their tots as well, which were pretty good. I’m looking forward to trying their loaded tots sometime. Keep up the good work guys!

I checked out The Cheesy Truck last week, and it was just about all I expected it to be. I don’t think these loaded grilled cheese sandwiches are my thing. The people working the truck were really nice, and my food was out super quick, but the tastes was pretty average to me. I went with the biggest sandwich, the Royale, which is a grilled cheese on Texas toast with mac-n-cheese and their homemade pulled pork and BBQ sauce topped with a beshumel sauce and more cheese. It’s a pretty hefty sandwich to say the least, and I’d say it matches its $ 8 price tag(The rest of the sandwiches are cheaper). I actually really enjoyed the pulled pork, but the mac-n-cheese was pretty bland and mixing that with the four cheese beshumel sauce and more cheddar was a cheese overload. If you love grilled cheese though, you’ll probably love this sandwich. I also got an order of loaded tots which had cheese, bacon, chopped jalapenos, and hot sauce on them. I love all those things. I didn’t love these tots. I’m not sure what it was, but they tasted a bit odd, and I wasn’t digging it. This probably won’t be my first choice in food trucks, but I’d probably give them another shot, especially to try one of their lighter cheese sandwiches. If you’re a huge grilled cheese fan, however, this truck is definitely for you.

Found The Cheesy Truck during a food truck rally at a fundraiser event. I believe I got the Sweet Goat sandwich which was flavored goat cheese and sun-dried tomatoes stuffed between two beautifully toasted garlic bread slices. The sandwich was a bit heavy — I wish there was something acidic to break up the goat cheese but the bread was toasted very well.

I waited an hour for this sandwich. I said to myself, «Self, this has better be worth it.» And it was. Every delicious bite of it. Sure, it’s a little pricey but all food trucks are overpriced in my experience. I just roll with it. I got the Royale. It was amazing. The tots topped it off wonderfully too. Of course, one can’t really go too wrong with tots. Every place should have tots. I’m not just talking about restaurants, I’m saying even your Doctor’s office should offer you tots. It would make the world a better place.

Got the Royale at the Westerville food truck festival. My son got a simple grilled cheese. It’s hard to screw that up but they did. The Royale would have been great except for bad green peppers and(I think) onions. Neither peppers or onions were listed as ingredients. I would have gotten the sandwich without these if they listed all the ingredients. Be specific when ordering from them or avoid.

I may be slinging out an extra star for this truck, but The Cheesy Truck was A-OK plus some. My credit union is super awesome and has these food truck days, and The Cheesy Truck was on their list. To my dismay when I pulled up almost everything was sold out other than a plain grilled cheese and The Country Gentleman. I’ll try anything new, so I went for the Country Gentleman. I’ve never really been a fan of plain grilled cheese. Now, I have never been to Melt, so I am no connoisseur by any means of what makes a fancy grilled cheese good, or not. Why the hell are we calling these gourmet anyways? I would expect aged cheddar, brie, grass fed goose and fancy chutneys if we’re going that far to list greasy food in the gourmet books. So Country Gentleman on any day would have been the 2nd the last sandwich I would have chosen if they had all the sandwiches listed, but I’m actually glad I got to have this sandwich. Despite my extra long wait, because of a huge crowd and group orders the sandwich was great! The thick cut bologna was great, the cheese went well and the rest of the toppings really just made the sandwich from meh… to Nice! The sandwich was a good size, too. Perhaps Cheesy truck is improving from previous criticism? I ordered plain tots, so I don’t have much to remark on. They were definitely better than other trucks who offer them. My total after a bottle of IBC came to $ 10, which granted may seem like a lot to some people, but when you think about the food truck concept. it’s basically people transplanting mini restaurants on wheels, so to me. $ 9 – 10 is average running price for a full fledged lunch at a sit down restaurant especially around Dublin. So… in lieu of thinking I was going to be totally disappointed. It turned out that I shouldn’t have been so harsh in my judgement. I’d gladly try this truck again.

Got the Royale and it’s a little on the sweet side, possibly because of the picked jalapenos topping I got. But don’t worry, they have a sriracha bottle to the rescue. Loaded tater tots could be on my menu next!

Hot Tots So me and cheese haven’t been getting along lately so I struggled picking something from Cheesy Truck to try today at the Food Truck Food Court. I settled on the loaded tater tots since me and the potato are best friends! It did not take long to be ready after I ordered, and it was tater tots with cheese, jalapenos, hot sauce and maybe some other toppings. The hot sauce and peppers did not make it super spicy though, just a little heat but more flavor. Made for quite the tasty little dish.

This is straight up fat, put-you-in-a-coma food. One of my coworkers bought me the Royale pulled pork mac n’ cheese sandwich, and after I ate it, I didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day. It was very tasty, and surprisingly the combination really worked. This sandwich is an entire meal in and of itself. The pork tasted sweet and juicy, the bread was delightfully toasted, and the mac n cheese was warm, homestyle goodness. It was absolutely sinful.

The Cheesy Truck came to my work’s parking lot around lunch time last week. I’d never had it before, but heard of it. I read a few reviews on it, so decided to try it out. I ordered the Vegas Strip with a side of tots and a can of pop. For the three, the cost was $ 9.75.(yikes!) It was pretty much like a breakfast sandwich I could make at home. For the price… I was expecting something a bit bigger and a bit more original. I like the whole«mobile food vendor» movement going on right now… but not for such a huge cost. I could’ve gone to McDonalds and ordered two breakfast combos for the price I paid for one combo on the Cheesy Truck. At best, 2 stars… Meh…I’ve definitely experienced better.

I’ll agree with other reviewers and say for the price I was expecting a little more cheese, and maybe a fancier bread, but it was still really, really, really good. As were the tots and the coke, which totally made the meal for me. If I was choosing my top five favorite food trucks to take someone to around town, The Cheesy Truck would most definitely be on the list. If you get something with bacon, you can’t really go wrong!

We visited the Cheesy Truck at the Dublin Irish fest. OMG, these guys do a great Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Next time we are in the area we are going to hunt them down and get some!

A shout out to the monthly food truck event by Hal & Als, I hope this keeps going because all that was missing from my laying around in the grass, smelling delicious greasy food afternoon was a brew(which I went home and drank). Looking around the trucks, I knew Cheesy Truck was my spot — a truck of cheese?! Yes please! I had a grilled cheese with chili — and though the chili was a bit too sweet for my liking(though I think is based off of Cincy chili??) — it was the perfect amount of chili to be on every bite without pouring all over my hands. My fiancé got the Mac N Cheese & Pulled Pork sandwich(so good I needed to capitalize it all), and it was the sandwich you never knew you couldn’t live without. It is all the flavor and texture and amazingness; everyone needs to haul their a$$e$ to the truck to try and have this kind of party in your mouth. Do It. Chatted with the man who took orders for awhile too, and even in the hot truck serving food all day, he was really energetic and excited about life. Makes the experience that much better.

I’m a lover of food trucks and anything new and out of the ordinary. Or taking something ordinary and putting a new spin on it. That is just what I though the cheesy truck would do. First off I love the look of it and the guys working are funny and super nice. I got the Modfather and I had they not been so nice and I not been in such a good mood I would have walked right back and asked them if they were Fing kidding me. It was just two slices of your average $ 1 white toast with 1!!! slice of cheese and half!!! a slice of bacon. I had a bite and gave the rest to my husband, it was good but no different than grilled cheese made at home, except that I would use way more cheese and bacon and for $ 6 I could make at least 10 of those. I was really dissapointed.

Finally got to hit the Cheesy Truck @ the Monthly Food Truck/Cart Hop at Hal & Al’s on the south side offa Parsons and Gates Ave on a Sunny Sunday afternoonage for some lunch. Ordered a Country Gentleman, fried bologna sammich with cheddar jack cheese and a Coke in a 12oz Glass bottle(ahhh coke in glass). Took a little time to talk with the dudes in the truck while my order was being prepared since there was a lull in the crowd. Told’em I had found out about the event via Unilocal and they scored me a free order of tots, mucho grassyass! My sammich was nice and cheesy/meaty good stuff and the tots were hot and tasty so it made a munchable lunch al fresco. While I will still be going to Waldo, to the G&R for my fried bologna fix, The Cheesy Truck will do in a pinch for me and prolly for you too!

We tried the Cheesy Truck at the Upper Arlington Arts Fair last weekend. We had the Rife’s 1936… Basically a burger with caramelized onions and gorgonzola on heavily buttered bread. Not bad, but a little pricey for what you get. The truck design is cute, though.

I wasn’t impressed. The sandwich was too expensive for what it was(liquid cheese on thin white bread). Being able to add your own ingredients(fried egg, bacon, etc.) is a nice touch, but not at all worth the price. And the wait for mediocrity was ridiculous. They had run out of tater tots and Mexican Coke when we got there, 20 minutes into lunch hour, so I can’t comment on those products. I wouldn’t go back.

Being from Lakewood and having Melt in my hometown, I’ve grown accustomed to gourmet grilled cheese since it’s inception in Ohio. This, however, is not good. Plain and simple. Where do I begin to describe«The Modfather» that I just ate for lunch? Overly greasy and salty, NOT on sourdough as advertised(plain old thin white bread), unusually small portion for the $ 6 price tag(I’m a geek so I measured, it was just 2/5″ thick), tater tots that were too soft from their fryer not being hot enough or them being overcooked at a low temp. There was a short line, but it still took over 10 minutes to get the order, which the guy tried to hand to me in two parts(telling me the tots will be a few minutes, as if I want to stand in the blazing sun with a hot sandwich for a few minutes while they finish). There are small glimmers of hope, cans of orangina, fantastic thick cut bacon(best part of the sandwich in my opinion), and a friendly staff. Things they should do: get THICK cut bread, cut it yourself, not from a bag. Clean the grill off and use less butter/oil to grill. Thicker cuts of cheese. Check the fryer temp to make crispy tots.

I had the pleasure of being invited to the opening teaser for this brand new grilled cheese truck sensation. It was amazing how you can make Grilled cheese taste so good in so many different ways. Not to mention the tater tots that bring me back to grade school. My friends and I all agree, we will have to add this Grilled cheese truck visit to my diet of good foods in Columbus Ohio.
