What an amazing experience I had here this past weekend. My husband and I were visiting relatives and decided to go out for a night on the town with my sister and some more family members. She suggested we come check this place out as she’d had some great experiences here in the past. Upon our arrival, we were promptly greeted and we informed the host of our reservations. We were seated immediately and as soon as were were seated, a bubbly, bright-eyed waiter named Brittany came over and asked if we wanted to order drinks. She’s probably one of the friendliest and most attentive waiters I’ve ever had. We had a great night there and our food was absolutely delicious. I’m glad I got to experience this and we will definitely be back once we are in the area again and we will certainly recommend it to anyone thinking of going here.

I actually wasn’t all that impressed. I read the reviews and thought that it would be incredible. Basically the Fillet was average and the sautéed mushrooms were good but I was expecting more. I will say one of the people I was with had a slice of chocolate cake and all I could say was how huge that piece was.

The food here is amazing! If you are just now experiencing the down town life of Columbus, you should head to the loft for a drink and dinner. You must try the pork chop and grits, you will regret it if you get something else. Also if you are feeling drinks after dinner, head upstairs for a drink with usually live entertainment. Excellent place to stop by if you are in the downtown area. :)

This was another desperate attempt to find good food in Columbus. The best dish we tried was Thai Tacos. Good texture, feel healthy, and have a nice taste when you bite into them. There was a downhill from that point on. The wings sauce was too sweet, the scallops were dipped into some sort of mixture that was reminiscent of honey filtered thru soy sauce and diesel oil… the buffalo shrimp was tiny and did not have any souse or flavor on it, the grouper was dipped in a special white cream souse that cause you to search for the tread mill. We finally recovered with the piece of the carrots cake, which was solid 3.5, and pulled Loft to 3 star rating.

Food is okay but a little pricy and honestly not worth it. The waitstaff aren’t friendly or attentive.

For what columbus as a whole has to offer yes upscale. HOWEVER the Staff is hit OR miss. Sometimes nice other times snarky and rude. The food needs a rework and that taps need somthing different then everywhere else. Other then that only place to see live music that won’t make you deaf and comedy that I’d really funny.

Wait staff: attentive, personable, informative drinks: competent, served promptly Food: fresh quality ingredients, ruined by excessive salt and/or sugar. Here’s what I ate and/or sampled during dinner: Mango hot wings: nicely cooked, drenched in sticky, sugary sauce with little flavor Green salad w/balsamic vinaigrette: fresh, tasty greens, syrupy sweet dressing with no olive oil flavor and only a hint of balsamic. Green beans: salty green sticks, zero green bean flavor, nice crunchy texture Broccoli: overcooked, mushy, low-flavor Mushrooms: surprisingly not too salty, pleasantly winy(Marsala?). Pretty good. Cheese grits: no corn flavor, overwhelming flavors of cheese, dairy, plus too much salt Pasta w/Marinara, shrimp: plump, juicy shrimp in a briny tomato sauce Thai shrimp tacos: batter-fried(Lord knows why) shrimp with the now-familiar house sugar syrup Carrot cake: yummiest thing apart from the beer, colossal serving; our table of 8 was unable to finish the one slice. We had intended to try a sister restaurant(Mabellas) next, but based on our awful Loft food experience, decided against it. I am left a bit puzzled by all of the good reviews for the food here. That said, there were a lot of burgers being served, so maybe that’s the house speciality.

One of the best restaurants in all of Columbus. Wait staff were friendly, attentive, and professional. The food was incredible and well worth what we paid for. My wife and I will certainly be returning to this restaurant! Love the food and the atmosphere.

I had the Filet Mignon, and it was fabulous. Everything our table tried was super tasty. We ate upstairs so we could listen to the live music, and our service was a bit slow/inattentive, but not bad overall. The band that was in when we went was very good, and the acoustics were great!

The food is average. If you are a college kid on a date its a good spot. A lot of singles are mingling here with drinks. They usually have a live band on Friday or Saturday Nights upstairs. If you want to have dinner, I would recommend eating downstairs, although it will still be noisy. Located in a good spot — Downtown Columbus. The vibe and décor is historic and trendy. The service is average. I would check it out once though.

Went here on a Friday night to watch the old man who painted our house play jazz music! It was awesome, awesome staff and delicious drinks! I had the Peach Martini and I asked if they could put sugar on the rim… delicious! Fish tacos, buffalo wings, and their burgers are mine and my fiancé favorite!

If you are looking for a place in Columbus that is upscale, has great live music, great food, and real mixologists then this is your place. The food here is superb. The waiting staff is great always making sure the customers are taken care of. You can also tell they work as a team, as a different waitress asked about drinks when she was checking on her table. Upstairs they often have amazing live music and the bar area allows for concersating while enjoying music. Best place in Columbus for great food and music.

We saw the band Mudcat on valentine’s day. The Loft is the name of the music venue. It was $ 10 entrance fee. The band was really entertaining and this venue seems like the place to be in Columbus. There were many young friendly people here. We would return to this place if we even come back to Columbus.

So far my favorite place in Columbus, GA. Just moved from SF Bay Area, CA and we were looking for a place to have a nice dinner for New Years Eve. My husband and I love it. Even the sauce on the wings were good. The food taste fresh. The server was great as well. All around a great place to hang out with friends, with your partner or to bring people from out of town. :)

This place is SOLID!!! Great food all around. We ordered the buffalo dip and pickle fries and both were very good, nothing mind blowing but good. I am tough to please for a five star rating for food but the Pork Chops were fu$king amazing!!! I highly recommend them, very well done and perfectly juicy. I will def be back next time I am down in Ft Benning.

The Loft is by far my FAVORITE place to eat in Columbus! Well second favorite because Epic is too pricey to eat at on a regular basis =(I’m from the D.C. area and use to good food. Living in Columbus you have a lot of chain restaurants which I try to stay away from so The Loft is perfect with all their fresh tasty food! My favorite is the Unstuffed Chicken, but their Seared Sea Scallops and Tempura Fried Shrimp, Herb Crusted Double Cut Pork Chop, and Strawberry Spinach Salad are good too! If you’re looking for more than just food they have comedy nights on Thursdays and Saturdays with a wide variety of comedians. The first time I went, there was a comedian from the Comedy Network which was pretty cool. This venue has an upstairs and downstairs which are both different and caters to any type of crowd.

Considering the food in Columbus, Georgia is basically hot garbage on a tin roof in most places, and your options are limited to the also-rans of chain restaurants like Red Lobster, it’s nice to see something refreshing, and it looks like downtown Columbus has a few places, even though it’s made no progress since I left in 2010. The Loft doubles down as a bar, comedy club, music venue, and restaurant. A little bit of everything, and though its good it can also become a bit much on a Friday night if you’re eating dinner upstairs. The food is very good. Tastes fresh, good flavor, and appropriate temperature and portions. Service is friendly as well, which is also fairly consistent throughout Columbus. Definitely try to dine downstairs for a more structured appearance. The upstairs area is expansive and kind of barren and strange looking… poorly laid out. A couple of smart renovations upstairs and this place could be top notch, but again I think the upstairs is configured for easy bar/nightclub conversion where you push all the tables and chairs to the vacant back area and clear out the«dance floor» so to speak. At any rate, if you’re a foodie and looking for something with good choices in what is unfortunately a subpar city for food choices, check out The Loft. You shouldn’t be disappointed!

Columbus GA has some of the worst food for a city unless you like fast food or cheap chain restaurants. The Loft is a true gem downtown in Columbus that truly has delicious food that could be sold in any major city. The salmon, filet, burger, and dinner salads were outstanding. The mix of flavors and fresh ingredients made the food great. The Mac and cheese was the best home style I’ve ever had. It’s worth getting with any dish just to try. The dessert was also tasty, the caramel apple pie, heated with vanilla ice cream. It topped off a great meal. Oh yeah and the buffalo chicken dip is mandatory as an appetizer. You wont be disappointed.

The Loft is a pretty upscale place in Downtown Columbus that succeeds in serving quality food in a nicer atmosphere. As far as ambiance goes, it’s a bit darker, and has tables downstairs in an open room next to the bar, which has a decent beer collection(nothing insanely special but more than normal fare on tap). There is an upstairs as well, which is laid out in a similar way. Noise level is pretty loud but not intrusive. Just keep that in mind if you like things very quiet. The service is okay; I’ve never really had too big an issue, though on one visit, we waiting a pretty long time upstairs for drinks and a table. There’s typically a wait, so reservations may be in order. The food is really good, probably one of the best places in Columbus. Think basic or New American food. The burgers are apparently good, though haven’t had them personally. Hands down the unstuffed chicken is my favorite menu item. The regular chicken breast and the meatloaf are also very well done. The sides are typically good(fries, mashed potatoes, green beans, etc.) and the homemade potato chips they serve with a creamy dip before the meal are awesome. Overall, you probably won’t find a nicer, casual-but-classy place downtown like this one. It’s a tad expensive but it’s just about the only game in town for what it offers. It’s a great place to spend a birthday or bring friends and family from out of town.
