This is a pizza place ran by OSU Dinning Services. They deliver to dorms and students can use their meal plan for their food. A couple of these pies made it to my office from overflow at some event. I actually liked the pizza very much! Thin crust, tasty toppings and a nicely seasoned sauce with a slight hint of garlic. Melted Mozzarella was toasted to a golden brown. It actually reminded me of my boy-hood favorite, Leonardo’s in Grandview Heights. Good indeed.

The PAD delivers to your dorm and accepts the student dining plan. Those are the only 2 reasons I have ever eaten their food. The pizza is absolutely terrible and delivery takes hours(plural). The only edible portion of the pizza is the crust, most of the time when we ordered it(we were cheap and lazy) the middle was never touched. The best part about ordering PAD is that you get 2 cans of soda with each pizza so it’s a good way to stock the dorm fridge with drinks while only using the dining swipes that your parents paid for. That being said, writing this review has me in a nostalgic vision of freshman year on south campus, wishing I was eating their awful awful pizza.

I remember going here by myself during the fall of 2008 or 2009. I remember the service being sort of subpar(students, as expected), because I think the staff members cared more about conversing with each other than doing their job. So of course I felt awkward, but the pizza was okay. This was also the place where I first heard that local WNCI radio station, for better or for worse.

Located within the Drake Union on OSU campus, the P.A.D. delivers pizza to students located in the dorms. But don’t let this keep you from coming in and enjoying their pizza. The P.A.D.(Pizza at the Drake) has two dining rooms that you can use when you come to pick up pizza. Pizza’s are above average, with the sauce containing most of the flavor. There are plenty of toppings to choose from, including«spiced soy crumbles». Specialty pizzas include The Islander, Butchers Block, Garden Veggie, BBQ Chicken and Bacon, and the Big 5 which includes pepperoni, sausage, onions, green peppers and mushrooms. Pizza isn’t the only thing on this menu; The P.A.D. also offers entrée salads, sandwiches, and chicken wings. The prices are reasonable, with small pizza’s starting at $ 6 and large at $ 10. You can also buy pizza by the slice when you come to the dining room. Would I suggest making the trek out to The P.A.D. if you lived off campus? No. While the pizza is good, it’s not worth trying to find a place to park. However, if you are on campus, or you are a student in the dorms, I would recommend giving them a chance! The pizzas are much better than the dorm staple of Papa Johns flavorless sauce.
