Based on Unilocal recommendations I went to Tony’s this week with my wife. Have to say I liked it quite a bit. They were alittle busy but very polite. I halls two coneys and a slaw dog. Yum! Also tried the fried zucchini and it was good as well. Wife had the shredded chicken sandwich which had the right amount of moisture. Finished up with some soft serve… which is hard to find in Cbus. All in all this place is on point. Though you won’t catch me on West Broad after sundown so this is only a lunch time place.

You’re not going to find gourmet fare at Tony’s. You’re also not going to find greasy garbage food, either. I’m Eastern KY born and bred and we have a place like this on every corner. Columbus? Notsomuch. Not unless you want a coney, or some kind of fancy city dog dressed with sriracha aoli or some foolishness. Sometimes you just want something simple and delicious and not expensive and not soaking with grease. Sometimes you just get a deep down hankerin’ and no substitute will do. I woke up this morning with a monkey on my back for a classic slaw dog and he wouldn’t let up until he was satisfied. So I did a quick Google search and after many wrong turns, dead ends, and misdirections, I found what I was jonesing for. I was worried I couldn’t find a place like home here in Columbus. This is it. I got 2 dogs with sauce, slaw, mustard, and onions, and I got the chili cheese fries, a sampler, a blue raspberry Slush Puppy, and a peanut butter shake. And an hour later I was kicking myself because I forgot to order the fried balogna sandwich! My total for this massive feast… $ 13! It was plenty enough for 2 people(or 1 person with an insatiable craving for drive-in food!). The sampler was 3 each of onion rings, battered and fried mushrooms, zucchini sticks, and cheddar jalapeño poppers. Barely any grease on the paper tray and they were all crispy, hot and delicious! My dogs were super tasty too. No soggy bun. The cole slaw tasted homemade. It wasn’t too runny or too sweet or too vinegary. As for the chili cheese fries, they were also great. We’re they the best fries ever? Nah, but they had a lot going for them and I’d order them again. I just prefer crinkle cuts at a place like this. There was no «liquid gold» cheese sauce. It was real melted cheese on top. For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure, a Slush Puppy is not like an Icee or a Speedy Freeze. It’s tiny pellets of ice that’re fun to crunch after you’ve sucked down all the sugary flavored syrup. The real star of the show was the shake. It was the PERFECT thickness and served with a big fat smoothie straw. It’s a bit of a haul from where I live, but anytime I find myself out that way, or waken that craving again I will definitely be heading back to Tony’s!

Hands down one of the best ice cream –hamburger joints in town! It’s our family favorite since they honor whatever request our kids throw at them. Keep up the amazing work!

What can I say about Tony’s Coneys? Well, let me start by saying that I grew up in North Florida. The only thing I know about«Coney» is the one in New York. So, not being«school» from a young age on the coney experience… all Tony’s needed to do to make me a fan was not make me sick. Okay, I am not giving them enough credit with that statement… they did more than not make me sick… they made me SOHAPPY. I had my first visit while a certain someone was in the hospital having surgery. Susan R said she’d head out the west side and meet me for dinner and we chose Tony’s based on the positive reviews. We were both smitten from the get-go. Y’all, I am a coney FAN. If I lived over near this place, I’d be eating them all the time. Thank goodness I don’t. The menu here is pretty extensive. Now, if you have a problem with fried or breaded things… don’t come here. You can ask for a coney without a bun… and they won’t even bat an eye. I’ve also had the coney burger… pretty tasty but comes in second after the coney. For sides: Corn nuggets are legit. The fries were pretty delish too. ANDTHENTHEYHAVESHAKESTOO. And all of the other ice creams! I could go on and on… but all of my visits have been with Susan R… so you can check out her awesome review for the details!

I have been here a ridiculous number of times over the past couple of weeks. Tony’s Coneys is fab. It’s not a hidden gourmet delight or anything like that; if you grew up in a place with a local burger drive-in or something similar, expect it to be like a good version of that. Some of the food is excellent, some is less excellent(luckily, these are not main items and can easily be avoided). The delicious things I’ve had so far: – Coneys. They’re simple and good. – Coney burger. For whatever reason, there’s a massive lack of chili cheeseburgers in Columbus(what gives, Cbus?), but the coney burger hits the spot with a very similar flavor profile. Their burger patties are hand-patted, which has a texture that the machine-made patties can’t replicate. – The fries are pretty legit. They’re not like, amaaazing, but they’re not bad at all. They will slather these fries in coney sauce if you want. Do recommend. – Peanut Butter shake. OMG. Their shakes are a great texture to start with(not too runny and not too thick – these ain’t rib-breakers), and the PB shake has been my favorite ice cream experience there so far. It’s craveable. Keith M. is all about the chocolate shake. – Corn nuggets. Keith M. ordered these and they were delightful. Things I probably wouldn’t order again: – Spudsters. These were sold to me as deep-fried mashed potatoes. .. which, if they had a pierogi-like filling, could have been good. They were pretty bland as it was. Tasted like boxed mashed potatoes that were breaded and fried. – Orange shake. Meh. I mean, I didn’t expect gourmet orange flavor, but it was just a little too artificial for me, and overly sweet. I was wanting something that tasted like a push-pop or a creamsicle. Did not hit that mark. The other great thing about Tony’s Coneys is the low cost. A small shake is $ 2. A coney is $ 1.50(1.75 if you get cheese). A burger is $ 4 or less. And it tastes good – not like you’d expect a $ 2 shake to taste NOW, but like you would have expected it to taste when you were a kid. I don’t know how they do it but they’re awesome.

Me and my boyfriend came here for the first time. I had always heard about how good this place was! We ended up getting shakes and some sandwiches. Their shakes are so good! And their food taste similar to fair food. I’ll definitely be back for more!

I have been here many times because the milkshakes are THEE best. The food is typical coney food and nothing to rave about, but that’s not what I come here for… The prices are pretty cheap seeing as the sizes are huge. You definitely get your money’s worth here. The staff is always friendly and although the wait is typically a bit longer, that’s to be expected for quality. Try a large strawberry banana shake. It’s a week changer!

We headed to Tony’s Coneys on a hot day in search of some decent ice-cream. Tony’s used to be a few buildings down the road eventually, but they’ve moved in this old… House. commercial property thing. Try mentioning the old location to one of the teenage workers there. they’ll give you some ‘deer-in-headlights’ look, and then you will feel instantly old. They have a drive thru, outside walkup window, and indoor ordering counter. There were plenty of patrons giving them business on this extra hot day, the patio seating was pretty much packed out. Tony’s offers a lot more than just ice-cream. They also have well. Coneys, chicken fingers, burgers and other hot items that would probably make for a good lunch. This place reminds me of a small place down in Circleville called ‘Shopes’, which I think USED to be a Tony’s Coneys before that. Same décor, and same setup. The whole fire place in the dining area is a little bizarre. Pretty sure I could have bricked that in, or tried to hide it. It’s pretty much an eyesore for the dining area, but then again… The whole place isn’t really shaped around ambiance to begin with. Anyways, the ice cream was very dismal. I think their machine was literally having a meltdown, because our ice cream was just that. It was pretty much some soupey and milky mess mixed with some candy in a cup, and this is literally seconds after it being handed to us. Very disappointing. I would give them another try possibly in the future, but this trip was not on the better side.

We love Tony’s Coneys!!! They always have great deals on their amazing coney dogs, and they’re open year round! We also love their milkshakes! Thick and creamy! Peanut butter is the best! Sometimes it’s a long wait, especially in the drive thru, but it’s well worth it!

I stopped here today with my sister and niece for a slushy. I got a Watermelon flavor one and it was good. I decided to try some food and boy I’m glad I did. I got the Coney Special 5 for $ 6.25 and an order of Fried Mushrooms. Those coneys were so good. I wanted to eat them all but I wouldn’t feel good about myself if I did. The fried mushrooms actually had flavor and they also gave me a side of ranch, most places don’t. The prices are so reasonable. I had to do a double take. I’m coming back for sure with the rest of my family. The menu has some very appealing items but I will always make sure to get those coneys in addition. Very friendly staff and the drive thru moved fairly fast. They also have soft serve ice cream, which I love. I’ve lived in this area for years why have I not tried them before? A slice of heaven I say.

I have been here a few times but only for the Pineapple milkshakes. Mine always has great flavor and just the right thickness. They are the best. I get the large at a great price. Looking at the menu everything seems to be reasonably priced. They even give you an actual milkshake straw, which is bigger than a normal straw, so you aren’t sucking your eyeballs out trying to get a sip. I attempted to venture beyond the realm of the milkshake one day and get a coney as well, BUT… they don’t have beef hotdogs. I don’t eat pork so that kinda sucked for me. How does a place that specializes in coney’s not have beef hotdogs??? Oh well, off with my shake I go. Check this place out though for real.

This is a fantastic little place hidden on the west side. It’s probably not so hidden for the people who have gone here for over 30 years, but it’s certainly new to me! What drew me to Tony’s Coneys was the mention of soft serve ice cream. I’m such a sucker for good soft serve, and hardly anywhere in town does it well. Tony’s Coneys specializes in(you guessed it) coneys! They also do everything you’d expect from a short order place – burgers, fries, etc. And they’re equally known for their desserts. They carry Hershey’s scoops, but I’m not sure why you’d get that when they have old fashioned soft serve – in vanilla and chocolate! The food is great for what it is – delicious, greasy goodness. If that’s what you’re in the mood for, you won’t be disappointed. It’s not something you’d want to eat every day, but it certainly does the trick. And the ice cream? Perfect. Exactly what I wanted. Please don’t go here expecting Jeni’s – that’s not what this is about. The people working at Tony’s are also spectacular. They are always extremely sweet and helpful. You won’t be disappointed with the prices either… they’re pretty darn cheap!

Great ice cream, awesome customer service, and some great food. I enjoyed the subs they make here, but the burgers are not that great. Possibly I got a bad one out of the bunch??? I just can’t wait for the pumpkin ice cream to come back in! Give it a try!

Had lunch here today. I had a simple vanilla shake, which was delicious. I also tried the coneys and the fried pepper cheese. I added in the sport peppers on my coneys, and I thought those were pretty great altogether. The cheese balls weren’t that special to me, but one of my friends let me tried his fried mac n cheese, and that was super tasty.

Coney are awesome! Been hearin about this place since I’ve been in Columbus and mad this is my first time trying it in 4 years. Might actually be a good thing because I would have been here every weekend. I got 2 «fully loaded» coneys, topped with cheese, coney sauce and cole slaw. The buns are soft and the amount of toppings are perfect. I added mustard because no hot dog/coney can be eaten without mustard. Also got a banana and chocolate milkshake. Full bits of banana in the milkshake and it is the perfect consistency. Straws are extra thick as well so that those bits never clog up the straw. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a quick, cheap and very delicious meal!

I get the same darn thing every time: Burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and lite mayo; side of corn nuggets, and small mint chocolate chip milkshake. The burgers are always grilled hot and fresh. What are corn nuggets? you ask. Cream of corn balls lightly deep fried and hot — yum. They have a LARGE selection of milkshakes, malts, and sundaes — to each their own! I frequent here if I’m on the west side of town visiting my niece. Good food!

Not as good as proclaimed. I went there a while back, thinking my coney place isnt open today lets try these guys, yuck, waste of money and time. No i know food from different places tastes different, so knowing that i opened my mind so i wouldnt expect the coney i wanted. So i get this coney, keep in mind im starved. I take the first bite and overwhelming onions, bland tasting coney sauce, heavy mustard flavor. I honestly felt like i was eating a regular hot dog with heavy mustard, med onions and to specs of hamburger on it. Im the type where even if its not the best tasting i will finish it if im hungry i could barely eat one dog let alone the two i got. Would i go back? Nope! The flavor chances are, is still the same, and if i wanted nothing spectacular for a coney i would heat some walmart chili, hotdog, buns and make my own coneys.

I really like this little family run place on the west side. It had been a long time since I visited here but I stopped in for a milkshake the other day. $ 2.25 for a medium shake that is the size of a large at other places, great deal. I really enjoyed this place. I got a Banana and Choc. Milkshake which had real bananas in the shake. I love real fruit in a shake, this place knows how to make them. The place is a nice little place with Hershey’s ice cream and a lot of homemade food. The coney’s aren’t too bad either. They also have great prices on all of the food. They have great value for the price. The service is great as they treat you special and give you the proper attention a customer deserves. i would try this place out.
