My first time at Zoup– I can’t say anything bad about the food, but our service was horrible with the exception of one employee who was basically working alone. I felt horrible for her as she was trying to keep up with the busy lunch crowd while the younger girls were hanging out in back. When they did come out to help, we felt as though we couldn’t even ask to try the soups because of the angry snarls we were getting from the teenage employees. When we they called our names to get our food, we were cautious to not lose a finger or a hand to them maybe biting it off in the exchange. Side note — we spent $ 50 on lunch with the family and even after a discussion with one of the employees can’t figure out how we only get 2 punches on our punch card even though we purchased 5 meals. Apparently we needed to ring them up as separate purchases to get the credit! again– we felt so sorry for the hard working employee as she had no help. Would go to another Zoup for the fabulous food, but going to try a different location!

This place reminds me of panera! They have a huge selection of soups that rotate daily, but they always keep lobster bisque because it’s so popular. So that’s what I ordered along with a half size power quinoa salad. You have the choice of multigrain, sourdough or French bread which is nice. They also let you have unlimited samples of their soups while you wait in line. Their lobster bisque soup is better than bravos which was my go to. I will be back for this amazing soup! Their quinoa salad is bland and nothing to write home about, I will only be going here for soup from now on.

I love this place. I would eat here every day if I could. My favorites are Lemon Basil Chicken, Fiery Enchilada, Chicken and Potato with Dill, Spicy Crab and Rice and I could go on and on. I love how you can taste everything before you order. I discovered that I loved Spicy Butternut Squash and I would never have thought that I would like it — but I do. The salads are also amazing — I almost always go for the Greek salad or else the Asian Salad. I didn’t love my sandwich that I tried(Turkey or something). The only problem with all of this is how much salt they use. It can be a bit overwhelming. Anyway., the staff members have all been very nice and helpful, but the prep area isn’t run very well. — it’s pretty inefficient. But I don’t mind the wait b/c the soup is awesome. Carolyn V.

Ok I only put one star because you have to before you write a review. Dirty tables & employees just standing around chatting. One employee was emptying the trash & then came back behind the counter without washing her hands my sandwich was not good, day old chicken with way too much bread. Soup was okay at best. Needless to say I will never go back! On my way to go get some good food!

My experience ordering in the store was great! As it was my first time I’m always a little overwhelmed /anxious when I visit a new place during a busy time. The cashier and individual serving the soup were both very helpful and walked me through all the meal options and ordering process. I was informed that they make over 100 soups and have 12 available daily, AND you can sample as many as you want, kind of like at an old time ice cream parlor. I placed our orders and our food was ready in no time. I took the food to go and was slightly disappointed in the amount of meat/toppings in each of the sandwiches ordered, but the flavor of the sandwiches and the overall quality and taste of the soups ordered make up for that. It was a great experience and I can’t wait to go back and try the bread bowl soups!

First time trying this tonight. I would say it’s the equivalent of Panera bread, which you either like or you don’t. I ordered the Chicken Pot pie and my wife got the chicken noodle classic. I enjoyed my chicken pot pie very flavorful and different. My kids not so much lol. but my wife had no complaints about the soup so that is a very good sign. I would say I liked this soup more than Panera breads.

Soup is my comfort food and today I needed some comforting so I searched on «soup» via the Unilocal app. Zoup was the top result. Done. I walked in and there wasn’t a line so headed to the part of the counter where you can view all the zoups. They had about 12 varieties to choose from – chillis to bisques to broths. I stood there for about three minutes before I was acknowledged. During this time no less than 6 associates were behind the counter. Seemed like a lot of people to me. One of the dudes(who I assume was the mgr) seemed to be busting a move doing all the work, while others stood around. I learned that one of the girls was unhappy because she was not up for a management promotion, yet another girl was. When I was finally approached, I began my order and was told I had to go to a register to order where I again waited a few minutes for another associate to come over. I ordered a half Greek salad and a bowl of chicken noodle. The guy who took my order packaged my zoup and then asked the mgr-looking dude if he could go on his break. No one was making salads, so again the mgr-looking dude started on those. The lettuce was sopping wet and he questioned one of the guys who had been in and out from the kitchen. Apparently he thought the lettuce went in the spinner BEFORE it was washed. WOW. So it’s fair to say my salad ended up being a soup too – as it was sitting in a puddle of water when I got it home. Yuck. The chicken noodle had a good flavor and wasn’t too salty. It definitely didn’t taste scratch-made. I could have heated up a can of soup myself for the same effect. Accompanying my meal was a «little hunk» of sourdough which was fresh and soft and good. So I’m hoping this location was just having a bad day – otherwise I’d probably given them a 3-star rating. I’d be willing to try them again to explore the extensive zoup possibilities. Hopefully I’ll have better service and won’t have to witness employee drama or salad spinner misunderstandings next time!

Today was my first time checking out Zoup at Lenox. There were several soup choices that can be sampled; it reminded me of an ice cream parlor. I ordered a vegetable soup and half a turkey club sandwich. The soup was fairly salty but I still ate it and enjoyed it. I would have preferred to added salt myself. The sandwich was served warm and was a nice compliment to the soup. I also got a roll for the soup but I barley took a bite. It tasted off and didn’t seem worth the extra calories. I’m not usually someone to skip any bread at my meal so that was slightly disappointing. My reasoning for the higher rating was that the staff was so friendly! I couldn’t believe how nice they were; a rare commodity in the fast food world. The gentleman that prepped the meal at the counter was kind and talkative. After I was done eating, I was balancing my tray to take to the trash and my car seat carrying my infant son. The worker came over to me and took the tray so that I didn’t have to bus it myself! I thought that was so sweet and would factor in to my choosing this restaurant again in the future.

Dinner and a movie is not the date it used to be. It’s not at all recommended when you’re first starting out. And even after awhile, it’s not exactly bank balance friendly these days once you factor in dinner, the movie tickets, and popcorn/soda. But lunch/dinner at Zoup coupled with a movie at the Lennox isn’t a bad date night combo at all. My girlfriend and I took in an evening flick one night after a Zoup preshow meal — and it was definitely a solid choice. Zoup is your standard casual soup/salad/sandwich place but offers some unique flavors — such as their pumpkin soup for fall. You can get a hearty bowl of soup there for just around $ 5 or combo it up as I did with a tasty turkey club(or other) sandwich for around $ 9. I’m typically not a soup person but they served me up a cup of their tomato and it was packed with flavor. I also got a lot to eat which is important to me when I go out. It’s right next to the Lennox so really nice and easy getting in and out before the show(or after) without the extravagant dinner tab. Zoup is also clean and not so casual that it feels like you are at a fast food joint on a date night.

I had been waiting for a good soup place to open, and here it is. They always have a large selection of flavors to choose from. And it changes daily. This visit I had a personal all time favorite of mine, Italian wedding soup. I am pretty picky about wedding soup. It had a nice flavor to it, but I think they overdid it with the veggies by a tad. Maybe I’m more use to my grandmothers which was mostly broth, pasta and meatballs. But needless to say… I fished it without a problem. I also added a half turkey club. Sandwich was on the small side. But it was nicely warmed and had a good taste. The smokey bacon really stood out. I’ve been to zoup about 5 times now and don’t see a problem going 20 more.

It’s quick and easy for high quality casual dining. I visit the Lennox restaurant and have only ever had awesome service and attention to detail by the crew. Breads are so good… I’m a carb addict though. The extensive soup menu changes EVERYDAY… sign up for their daily email amd their customer program. I really like the salads but I’m just not a fan of the containers used to serve them. Well worth a visit.

If you are a soup lover you need to try this place! They offer hundreds of different soups with 12 always-rotating daily varieties, including low-fat, vegetarian, dairy-free, gluten-free and spicy options, they are all served with a large piece of fresh bread. Their menu also features a wide array of made-to-order salads and sandwiches. Some of my favorites include Chicken Potpie, Lobster Bisque, ginger butternut squash and Vegetarian Split Pea. They also encourage you to your own favorite by sampling our soups before you order. You doesn’t love a sample!

If you gave me the choice of Potbelly, Panera, or Zoup. Zoup would win for lunch 8 out of 10 times. I like how one gets to try their soups before buying. One is able to make an informed decision on what they want. Great concept with good food and at a reasonable value. 2 adults plus splitting a kids meal between a 1&3 year old cost under $ 25. Do you want a hearty soup? Try the Jamaiccan gumbo. Feeling fishy or want something creamy? Try the crab or lobster bisque. There are close to 15 soups available to taste. They also announce anytime they bring a new soup out. The sandwiches here are good not great so that is the one downside. I ordered the three cheese penne which would have not been enough without the gumbo. If you don’t eat soup then try somewhere else. My picky 3 year old loved their grilled cheese(at home, she isn’t a big fan). Great customer service with a nice sit down atmosphere. I will be back especially This winter.

I wasn’t feeling the greatest and I decided soup was the answer, so it only made sense to check this place out. It just opened a few months ago on Olentangy right behind the Dibella’s Subs(corner of King and Olentangy). I was nervous when I saw there was only one table seated around 7PM on a Tuesday night, I expected it to be busier. But I found that a majority of their business comes from takeout orders, so not a big deal there. The guy behind the counter offered me a sample of any of the soups, and I decided to try lobster bisque. It was very rich, too rich to eat a whole bowl of, so I just went with the classic chicken noodle. I ordered a bowl which came with a sourdough roll, and patiently waited for my soup to arrive. There were only 2 people working at the time, one making sandwiches and one handling the soup and taking orders. Since there were a few people ordering behind me, and apparently a few takeout orders ahead of me, it took longer than expected to get my food. But I was in no rush, so again, not a big deal. I got my soup, took it home, and soon realized that it wasn’t as great as I had expected. It was REALLY salty, and the vegetables looked like they had been previously frozen. The noodles also weren’t anything special, they were overcooked and soggy. Needless to say, I think I will get my soup elsewhere next time. Can’t speak for their salads or sandwiches, but overall, I wasn’t impressed

Stopped in looking forward to a swanky sandwich and to check out what else they have to offer as I’ve always wanted to go to a zoup. As soon as I got in the door I went to look at the menu but two separate employees persistently urged me to just walk up to the counter and they would walk me through it– which to me is usually a bad sign. I wish I had walked out then. They did have 12 soups that they rotate daily and you are encouraged to sample as many as you’d like. I tried the mushroom barley, Lobster bisque and Crab Bisque. The Crab was lovely and beyond expectations, they others were sub-par– but those were the only 3 I tried as I was set on a sandwich anyway. So we then get shuffled to the check out where the man was pressuring us into getting a try two, he essentially ordered for me because he was so pushy that I get a soup. My mother was going to get a soup, I was going to get a salad/sandwich try two so we could try everything the restaurant had to offer but the cashier had another plan for us as he did not give me any time to look at the menu at any point in our visit. I hastily chose the Southwest turkey and my mother choose the Crab bisque. The prices are incredibly hard to find, the soups are different prices for each so there is a large board with different sizes and costs for every flavor. I manged to find somewhere that the Try 2 starts at nearly $ 8. They will call your name for your order, The sandwich was a wrapped up hot sub, with only tomatoes, didn’t expect this but I didn’t even get to read the menu. The crab bisque was still good, but the bread given with it wasn’t even warm, it was a big disappointment that it was clearly something you get from kroger. But the sandwich was the soup were quite good, thus the only reason this review gets 2 stars instead of one. Honestly I would have given them another try, but I will never come back. It was nearly empty in there– no line. Yet they were so pushy that I am offended, wish I had walked out, and will never step foot back in there again. So no, I would not reccomend this to a friend. Go to au bon pain, Panera, or Market district instead.

We came before it opened since the sign said«Now Opened.» It turns out it was a fundraiser for mental health in Columbus, so they are already a winner in my book. Its a cool concept if you like soup because they have a bunch of rotating flavors and you can sample any of them. You could probably sample all of them and get a good meal out of it. Today, it was $ 5 for a bowl, bread, and a drink(not typical I don’t think. Just for the fundraiser). It was definitely worth it. I had the chicken pot pie which I was told is their signature. It comes with a piecrust topping which was a nice touch. The sourdough bread was addicting(bread at all of these places is addicting though). I know it was just soup and bread, but I walked away full. It was definitely a good portion. I’ll have to be back to try the rest of their menu. NB: The owners(this is a franchise) were present and greeting people at the door. They were nice and seemed like great people.

I’ve been waiting for this place to open, and when the grand opening announcement finally showed up for today, I zipped over just after 11AM. The staff were milling around excitedly behind the counter, and all but tripped over themselves to offer information and samples. I’d signed up for their email list in anticipation of the opening, and had a b1g1 coupon for a bowl of soup. There was an array of about a dozen different soups, and I was a little sad not to see the sirloin chili, but decided on the clam chowder and the chicken pot pie, accompanied by sourdough. The price for my bowls were $ 7.20 and $ 7.95 respectively, which seemed a little pricey, though I’m glad to have an alternative to Panera. I thought the soups were decent, but the clam chowder tasted a little flat(I was expecting a creamier chowder). The chicken pot pie was served with a pie crust crumb topping, which I enjoyed. Those little loaves of bread are addicting though. The pick-up area is kind of awkward since there’s not much space between there and the dining room, and would be even more so if people were actually seated and trying to enjoy their soup while you’re standing right next to them waiting for yours. 3.5ish stars for now, but I’ll come to try the combos and see how the value is for those.

We came for the Mental Health fundraiser the day before the official opening. $ 5 for a bowl of soup, bread and a drink. I had the white chicken chili with French bread and my fiancé had the chicken pot pie with sourdough bread. Both were delicious! They let you sample as many soups as you want before deciding. The service was quick and friendly. It’s nice to know that they also support mental health awareness. Will definitely come back to try more flavors. P. S. They also have free wifi.

After picking up some things at Target, the girlfriend and I wanted to check out if Zoup! had opened yet, since it looked like they were throwing the place up overnight. Well, they had a sign saying now open, but as it turned out, it was actually opening Thursday and was only open to family and friends for a soft opening. Just as I was about to leave, the owner grabbed me and told me to come on in and have a meal, since they were training the new staff. He introduced himself as Jim, and all he asked was that I tell everyone about the place and little did he know that that would not be a problem for me. I’ve never been to a Zoup! before, and even though we had one in my town in Connecticut, it never really appealed to me. I’m not a big soup and salad person. They had sandwiches, but I can get those anywhere. If I’m going to compare it to anything, really, it would obviously have to be Panera. The ordering process is quite simple: stand in line, pick out either a sandwich, soup, salad, or a combo of one of the two, and wait for them to call your name. Painless, and the food comes out very quick. Everyone working last night was very friendly, and you can sample all of the soups they have there. I didn’t taste one I didn’t like, but the favorites had to be the Chicken Potpie and the Fire Roasted Tomato Bisque. It sounds like the soups change daily, and I’m a huge fan of variety. I ended up ordering the chicken Caesar salad with the sirloin chili on the side, and the girlfriend ordered the same except with the tomato bisque. What would normally be an $ 8 combo was FREE last night thanks to the soft opening and the generosity of the owner. The chicken Caesar was pretty average, but the soups stole the show at this place. I really enjoyed the chili and ended up eating most of my girlfriend’s tomato bisque. The soups are pretty hearty and for a fast casual place, they do a pretty stellar job. Combine the friendliness of the staff, the great food, and the gracious owner, I was more than satisfied with my experience last night. The meals aren’t too expensive, and the owner didn’t have to invite us in for a free one, but I really appreciated the offer. As someone looking to cut back on the calories but also looking for a quick and tasty meal, I will definitely be back.
