Went for Easter Sunday Brunch, was awesome. Have been for dinner years ago, never brunch. Will definitely be going back. Great job Bonwit. And your omelet guy upstairs made the best egg white omelet I have ever had

The service here stinks. We’ve been here two hours and are still waits Ng for our entrees. Plus, the waiter spilled a drink on me and didn’t even apologize. He just handed me a napkin.

Bonwit Inn, simply the best Sunday brunch on Long Island. With a complimentary cocktail and unlimited beverages, you will not be disappointed. For the youngest finicky eaters, chicken tenders and French fries will surely satisfy. From apple strudel to roasted zuchini, everyone’s appetite will be quenched. So many various stations, from the omelette station to the meat carving station… so many choices. My favorite is the smoked fish, assorted salads and shrimp table. Dozens of chafing dishes to choose from such as fried calamari, penne ala vodka, chicken francaise, roast pork and the moistest roast salmon. Be sure to wear loose clothing, ladies I recommend leggings… Under $ 30 dollars… I dare you to find a better deal… will make Bonwit Inn my monthly check in locale… right off Northern Pkwy and minutes from Long Island Expwy… run, don’t walk… Sundays till 3pm. Mark, our server, simply the best in the business. Attentive and a real pleasure. Just like family. Ask for his section. I know I surely will again and again.

One of my favorite places to eat in Commack. We Always come here for brunch and decided to try Dinner one night! And Now We can’t stop going here! The dinners are excellent! I came on a Saturday night And had the best prime rib! It’s a weekend special and I ordered it MR and it was perfect. My fiancé and I like to share food so he ordered the Seafood Fra diavolo. It has a nice blend of seafood and It has the right amount of spice to it! For dessert we got the crème brûlée. It’s just melts in your mouth! Can’t wait to go back! It’s definitely one of the must try’s in Commack!

One of the best places on Long Island for brunch. The variety and assortment was rather large. Our service was very good. The food was replenished quickly and often. Never seem to have been short or needed to wait for more food to be replenished. I thought the price of $ 30 per person was reasonable. They have plenty of parking. The rooms and seating were very organized and comfortable. I will definitely return.

I have lived on Long Island since 1989 and had never been to this place. After seeing a movie my family stopped in to eat here. RJ was our server. RJ hit it out of the park with his service. In fact the only reason why I’m giving this place 4stars. RJ gets 5stars. He was more than attentive and was very honest. I really like very honest servers they never steer you in the wrong direction. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and it was ok. The Oysters Rockefeller was surprising good. I really enjoyed them. My father had the Chilean sea bass and that was good. My mother ordered the penne a la vodka and that good as well. The salad they also bring to the table with your meal is fresh and good and the bread is warm. Like I mentioned RJ is the absolute best. I suggest that if you go that you ask for RJ to be your server you won’t be disappointed. All said and done this place is nice and the food is decent. RJ is the man to deal with please ask for him

I was at the Breakfast Buffet about 4 years ago. It was good — but we were seated in the«musty» area near the bar. That did not bother me because when I go out to eat I like some space between my table and the next(especially if little kids are running all over the place without parental authority). The main dining areas seem a little cramped /crowded but it’s closer to the buffet… which is great BUT here is an odd criticism that you may never hear again: I almost wish the buffet was SCALED down a bit. I mean it’s a full-on breakfast(which is always HEAVY) with anything you could possibly wish for and man, it’s FILLING! Smoked salmon, crepes, waffles, omlet station… So much that you could possibly not eat another crumb… yet there lunch /dinner foods there too; chicken wings, turkey, shrimp, etc. etc. So you decide to try a nibble of everything and before you know it El Bloato– you’re kinda sick! I almost wish they would do the Breakfast foods buffet style only and scale down the PRICE as well. Like say to $ 15.00 — 20.00.(Ok, how bout $ 22.99?) There is WAYTOOMUCHFOOD here. P. S. if you from out of town — this would be the place to go!

Made a reservation for an early dinner. Arrived at the restaurant and ordered our first course consisting of a glass of wine, Fresh Mozzarella and French Onion Soup au Gratin. A salad and bread for the table also came with the meal. The Fresh Mozzarella was mediocre. The French Onion soup was served in a huge bowl, and mozzarella cheese oozing from the bowl. Instead of the bread being slliced into edible bite size pieces, an entire slice of bread was under the mound of mozarellla cheese. Very unappetizing. At this point a second glass of wine was ordered in anticipation of dinner. For dinner, the Chilean Sea Bass was ordered. We chose to share the dinner. The fish was served over a slab of yellow mashed potates. Fish should not be served over mashed potatoes. The fish had a rancid odor of fish, and tasted as bad as the odor. This was clearly fish had gone bad. We immediately sent the food back and explained our disgust. At that juncture, I did not touch the second glass of wine and asked for the check. The GM came to our table, said, «There is nothing wrong with the fish, and what am I supposed to do with the glass of wine?» The GM’s attitude was disgusting. They did not charge us for the fish nor the second glass of wine. For dinner, we enjoyed bread, a salad, fresh mozarella and a piece of wonderbread drowned in onion broth and cheese. Our waitor was great! Thank you Bonwitt for the dinner and hospitality!

We have been to the Bonwit for parties, dinner, brunch and tonight with a group of 15 people who had just completed the Light the Night walk for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. My son is a huge fan of the Bonwit brunch, which features a large variety of breakfast and lunch foods Smoked fish, an omelette station, a carving station, baked clams, pasta dishes french toast, waffles, fruit and of course, the Bonwit’s Greek salad. Dinners are tasty and very ample, with warm bread and the Greek salad. Tonight, without a reservation, we came to eat after the walk and the staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. They seated us promptly and served us entrees family style at our special request with sides and salads and everything was outstanding, from the firecracker shrimp and shrimp cocktail appetizers to the pastas, chicken marsala and franchese and the sides of rice, mashed potatoes and vegetables. I was really very impressed with how well they pulled all of it off, especially since they usually don’t serve family style and we hadn’t reserved a table or arranged a catering type order. Looking forward to coming back soon.

If you are from the Commack/Dix Hills area the Bonwit is a well known landmark. Has been around for years. When I was a kid this was the place to go for a celebration dinner with family. It’s always crowded with family and group events. The restaurant could use some updating but perhaps staying vintage is part of the charm. The menu could use some more creativity and updating too. The Sunday Brunch is very popular. They offer a good deal for weekday dinners for school groups and allow use of a private room.

Sunday Brunch is what I need to brag about. Anyone who knows me knows how excited I get about brunch. I finally came around to writing this review, I have no idea why I never got around to it. But, all you need to know is that there is a great atmosphere, good service, friendly staff, variety of meal options, delicious, and a good time. Keep those mimosas coming! Definitely make reservations as this gets packed fast. I believe brunch is only on Sundays from 11am-2pm. Worth every penny and time well spent. Loved it! Don’t be fooled by the vintage vibe, I think it adds a twist to this place.

We had just got into town, and our hotel room wasn’t ready yet. We needed lunch, and were on the prowl for a decent place to eat. We almost passed this place up since we were in shorts and t shirts, but whatever right? Was disappointed that we just missed the brunch buffet, but what ya gonna do? Immediately greeted and seated by a very pleasant woman at the desk. The atmosphere was very nice, but laid back at the same time. The type of place I could see my mom going to every week for a soup she liked or something while others could go there for an anniversary dinner at the next table. Good menu, lots of options, and very reasonably priced. My wife had made one comment to me about the server seemed pissed off or something, I had to explain New Yorkers to her. Lol Had fried calamari, which was good. Wife got the Ahi Tuna salad, and really liked it. I ordered of the price fixed menu for lunch. It came with a house salad that was pretty damned good for a lunch freebie… better than some salads I’ve paid way more for. Mozzarella and fresh tomatoes as an appetizer, stuffed shrimp with mashed potatoes for the entrée, and a chocolate mousse cake(the kind you buy in a box, but hey… its dessert)…all for like $ 16. That’s a nice lunch at a nice price. We would DEFINITELY revisit and recommend this restaurant if you’re in the area.

Whenever people suggest eating somewhere on Long Island, I find myself grimacing. Why is that? Maybe 18 years of unsatisfying meals? LOL #hatersgonhate but Bonwit, you truly deserve a gold star. Your food, to be honest, is not amazing, but your waiters and busboys are beyond patient and exemplify stellar service. I have a huge family. When I say huge, I mean ginormous. It was my aunt’s 70th birthday, so we celebrated it at Bonwit Inn… we meaning 45 – 60 relatives. Oh, and to add to that, we’re not the quietest of families. We had over 10 kids under the age of 8 running around and parents who thought we were holding a private photo session(«everyone get together and smile!» –____-), but we were served in a timely manner by waiters and busboys who managed to smile the ENTIRETIME! Craziness. Whatever they’re on, I’ll have one too. Let’s talk about the food: Bread = fabulous, warm, chewy, amazingness. when are carbs NOT good. Salad = slightly overdressed, but still freaking delicious. Appetizers(baked clam & mozerella and tomato) = hard to mess up. Entrees = this is where I was not impressed. I got the short rib, but I thought it was just okay. It wasn’t bad to the point where I couldn’t eat it, but it just wasn’t good enough for me to keep eating it. I continued to fill my stomach with the bread and salad throughout the entire night. Go in expecting the worst and you’ll have a great time. If you go in expecting the best, Bonwit will fall short. All in all, if I ever need to host a party for the older peeps(aka moms/dads/grandmas/grandpas/aunts/uncles/randos), Bonwit Inn, you are my number one choice!

Went here on a Friday night with 10 people to celebrate my brothers graduation. We were sat within 5 minutes. The employees were very nice and friendly and the service was amazing. I ordered the filet mignon and the French onion soup. The steak was delicious cooked perfectly and was cut like butter. The soup was the best I’ve had. Definitely do not hesitate to go here for any meal any time of the day. You will not be disappointed

This place is great if your 90 years old and don’t mind the smell of a 74 year old rug and décor of a throwback from the 50’s. The food is as old as the waitresses that work there since the place opened. After few appetizers and 2 vodkas I threw up in the parking lot. Great place for kitchen nightmares or bar rescue

Went to Mannino’s and waited 2 hours of seating until they informed us that they accidentally gave our table of 9 away. We left immediately and went straight to Bonwitt Inn, who took us in immediately and gave us the best meal in a long time. I have eaten there multiple times and they are the one of the best restaurants on Long Island. Order the Salmon and Calamari, you will have no regrets. Bonwitt is like one big happy family and they helped my family celebrate one of us beating Leukemia. Thank you for everything!

We were invited to a birthday brunch celebration. Absolutely marvelous — One table with fresh fruits, cheeses, crackers, bagels, fresh jumbo shrimp and crabs. A hot table with eggs, omelets made to order, waffles, french toast plus turkey and roast beef sliced to order. Moving right along, a pasta station and then… a dessert table that is irresistible, My downfall was the crème brule. but there were all sorts of brownies, chocolate mouse, rice pudding and too many things to name. We were three tables full of people — coffee refilled endlessly, dirty plates removed immediately and the food at the buffet was replenished constantly.(They have a special price for children under 10 years of age). I am most definitely a fan. The place was packed and initially I thought it might be too loud or chaotic, but they have several rooms, things are well laid out and there were no long lines at the different station. However, make sure you have a reservation.
