My biggest concern, other than getting quality training, is being comfortable with the staff and team, including your classmates. I felt right at home as they all welcomed me without any pressure or judgment. Many gyms or academies can be highly intimidating, which can leave you discouraged but after experiencing the facility, the trainers and students, you can feel the warm ambiance of something exciting. Don’t think that means they don’t challenge or push you because they focus on everyone, individually and motivate you. I walk out feeling stronger, physically and mentally. It gives me much clarity after a long work day filled with monotony. There is a sense of true pride at this academy without feeling an heir of arrogance or confidence. A team. Everyone is there at your disposal, for questions, comments or concerns. Other academies left me feeling a bit worried or insecure while getting prepared for training, opposed to rushed with adrenaline or excitement. Not here. Before I get to the academy, I feel prepared, confident and simply happy. I can say that I truly love coming to this school. These guys want to work with you, from your training to the scheduling, to the prices. 100% fair. If you are in this area and have yet to experience Commack MMA, I highly recommend at least taking a class. After all, the first class is free. They will be more than happy to give you a lesson, from BJJ to kickboxing and even yoga. The choice is yours. I made mine.

I trained traditional martial arts for many years before I found Commack MMA and I can tell you that this gym is top notch if you want to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing, or MMA. Professor Muller is extremely knowledgable, patient, and friendly making learning the arts fun and interesting. Paul Rodriguez also runs incredible BJJ classes during the day and if you are interested in kickboxing you could not ask for a better teacher then professional mixed martial artist Tom English both guys are really knowledgeable, friendly, and motivated to help you be the best you can be. The place is always kept very clean with the mats constantly being sanitized. I cannot recommend this place more to anybody that has any interest in learning brazillian jiu jitsu, MMA, kickboxing, or someone just trying to get in shape with the fitness classes.

One of the cleanest places I have trained at the staff clean the entire gym daily. They are professional and friendly. The instructors are very knowledgeable and welcoming. Try out a class you will be treated like part of the team.

First off I would like to say that Unilocal!has unethical practices, and has been proven to have written negative reviews in order to «charge»(blackmail) clients to have them removed. Commack MMA is not the only place I have practiced martial arts, but it is where I have stayed the longest, and where I have gotten the best martial arts training in my life. The owner and head instructor has over 16 years experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and MMA. His grasp of jiu-Jitsu concepts is rock solid, and I’ve often joked that his technical understanding of specific movements is so good that, he can explain complex movements over the phone, and you would still learn it. I consider everyone there family, and have developed bonds that extend beyond BJJ and often find myself going to my peers and higher ranks for advice on everything from romance, to what restaurants to try, and who to pick in the next UFC fight! There have been countless nights where I have stayed late, for extended workouts, and seen first hand everything getting sanitized and wiped down. The bottom line is this, if you want a safe, clean environment to learn BJJ, you will not find a place with so much passion for the gentle art. If you’ve ever considered it, do yourself a favor and check them out. Their staff is very friendly and eager to share their knowledge with you.

Looks like a nice MMA gym, wanted to like it. The service and cleanliness is questionable. Staff is unprofessional, not the best service or personalities. It fits a certain kind of person. Merchandise is poor quality for the price. Instructors are okay, seem unorganized and lack motivation. Thumbs down overall

Awesome facility, and you will not find better training in Suffolk County. Whether you are looking to train recreationally in BJJ or striking, or looking to compete, or just looking for a new fun way to get or stay in shape, Tom Muller and his team will help you reach your goals. Tom has been a part of my BJJ and MMA journey since day one, when I began in the sport with strictly fitness goals. Five years later, BJJ and MMA have become a professional endeavor and my full time job and passion. Tom has been one of my greatest influences and supporters along the way. One of the things that hooked me when I first began training was the warm, welcoming and non-elitist atmosphere in the gym — it is something that can make or break your whole experience, and that being positive was a key ingredient that facilitated my journey. These guys care about you and want you to succeed. Oh, and they’re pretty darn good at this fighting stuff, too.

Great gym, clean matts and equipment. Friendly and knowledgable staff. The trainer I work with, Neila, works closely with you to achieve optimal fitness in her Ultimate Fitness challenge class. There’s also other programs there related to UFC/MMA and children’s classes. I highly recommend this place but make sure you sign some sort of contract or paperwork with terms and conditions of your membership.
