Went for Father’s Day lunch. Since when is this a national holiday? The owner/manager refused to honor my Groupon. Not that the food is overly expensive, but it’s a matter of principal and there were no limitations on the deal. Be that as it may, the food here –I had the buffet– was dull and lacking verve. Goat masala was largely bones covered in sauce. Tandoori chicken lacked taste and was tough. Pakoras and samosas were dry and cold. Vegetarian dishes similarly lacked spice and the Naan was a tad burnt. An order of Chicken Naan barely had any spice, let alone chicken. The place was virtually empty and I suspect why.

Great food! So happy I dont have to go so far for delicious Indian food. Desserts are my favorite! Took 1 star away only because they can work on their greeting and attitudes a bit.

Very good Indian restaurant in a strip mall in Commack. Best to come for dinner and not the lunch buffet. The buffet is watered down and blah but dinner time the quality improved greatly. Love the chicken makhni and the chicken xacuti. Service is welcoming and friendly and prices more reasonable here since meals come with basmati rice. Definitely recommended for dinner, not the buffet.

I had dinner here tonight. My friend suggested we try it out. I am not going to lie. I was really not expecting much for a strip mall restaurant. Décor was a little outdated. But the service was friendly and very attentive. The food was absolutely, positively delicious. Meals are served family style which I love. We ordered chicken and vegetable samsosas for our appetizers. Decent size, full of flavor with the most delicious trio of dipping sauces. We ordered chicken tandoori and saag paneer. The chicken was flavorful. The paneer was just the right amount of spicy. It came with a generous bowl of rice and some delish garlic naan. We were stuffed by the end of the meal. There was nothing left. Our bill came to $ 68 for a meal for 2. That included 2 glasses of wine to wash out delicious food down with. Great food, good service and decent pricing. Definitely will be coming back to Kiran again.

Great spot for lunch buffet. $ 10.95 per person. The spices are not overwhelming and definitely on the mild side, meaning I can eat it! Lots of main course options, very tasty dessert. Definitely a place to keep in mind when craving a bunch of Indian food. Naan is on the buttery, crispy side and is included in the buffet. Check out the groupon to find some deals for this place!

I go there for lunch with my wife once a week or so. The people are very friendly and although I know nothing about Indian food I find the selection tasty and fresh. They always have a variety of vegetable dishes, chicken and another chicken with a medium sauce. I think its a great value for lunch, I never was there for dinner because I do not live near Commack.

yum! Me and the mini me went for lunch buffet. We were the first customers of the day. When we sat down with our plates and ice cold water we were already refreshed and then they brought out the basket of fresh Naan. oh man… I don’t know how but it was hot and soft and perfect and was like… buttery. Not sure how they did that but they did. I had to commandeer the basket and divvy it up before my teenager sprung over the table and clawed me over it. This naan caused my 100 pound teenager to turn into an animal. It was damned good! The food was excellent, perfect seasoning, perfectly cooked. The chicken was juicy, even in the Tikka Masala which tends to be dry because its white meat chicken chunks simmered in sauce for some time. Theirs remained tender and juicy. I forgot what the cost per person was since this was a few weeks ago but I do remember the check being about 21.50 for the 2 of us. That is a great deal for what you get for sure. This is my new fav indian food stop– sorry curry club.

Wish that I could give it a higher rating… But, my last few dinners at Kiran Palace have not been worthy of anything more. Fish pakora — hot and spicy — started my last meal off right. My wife’s salad was excellent. Naan was great — hot and buttery. Sounds like the start to a super dinner. But that’s where the goodness ended. Both my wife and I ordered chicken dishes and both were poor. My wife’s chicken tika saag had hard, bad textured meat. I order the tika masala and must have had the same chicken. The sauces are fine(although I found mine to be unusually spiced) but when the protein is bad, there’s a problem. I love the hostess and the people working there — nice and helpful. But the restaurant does need a good refreshening. Hopefully one day they’ll get it.

I decided to take my colleagues at this place since they like Indian place. First impression. It’s quiet. We went there after work and the lady at the place greeted us but i felt like she wasn’t so happy to see us. It was more like, «How many person? 3? What you want? Here is the Menu». Lol. Food was really good. My colleagues loved the Chicken Biriani. They said it was mild spicy but it wasn’t spicy at all. So if you like spicy food, go for Spicy. Their Pori was pretty good. I ordered 3 of those. I thought they are small in size. But i was wrong. They are huge. Each of them has around 6 inches diameter. if you order 2 its good for 3 – 4 people. But again, depends on how you eat.lol. We also got the Chicken Teki masala and Lamb curry. its Amazing! Overall, its a good place for Indian Food but i feel like they need to work on their smiley face a little more when they greet their customers.(Just saying). :)

An amazing hidden gem, a must stop for all lovers of Indian cuisine, save room for the honey bun after the wide selection of various entrees at their reasonable buffet 5 stars

We went for lunch after reading some reviews. We both havent had a lot of different Indian foods so we thought this would be a good place to try. The buffett had several hot dishes long with some appetizers and desserts. I was a little worried because we were the only people in the restaurant but the food was hot and semed fresh. Chicken Tikka Masala was very good as was Tandoori chicken. Several other dishes were good, some not so good but some were more of a preference issue than quality. Fort example, I generally dont like curried goat but tried it again anyway and still dont care for it. I do wish they had descriptions of the dishes on the buffett for those not familiar with Indian food. We tried the rice pudding for dessert and it was a little different but it was OK. A good place to go to for lunch to try different foods for $ 11.95 pp.

I’ve been taking my son here for the lunch buffet for most of his life, and now he loves Indian food as much as I do! Nice folks, good food. For an Indian buffet this is about as good as it gets.

Though the food can be a little salty, My bf and I always find their food very good. Some of the best indian ive had; we love their chicken tikka masala. We’ve eaten in restaurant and picked up take out. Next we need to try the buffet. I recommend you try the lamb. It’s a bit expensive, but we usually end up getting two meals out of it.

I called at 10PM on a Saturday(hours are till 11PM) to make a take out order. The woman who answered said they were closed. Why state your hours if you don’t follow them? Oh well, I ordered Thai food instead! And they lost out on a $ 50 order.

Kiran palace has one of my favorite lunch specials around. $ 10 for a fantastically authentic buffet. The gulab jamon is one of my favorite ethnic desserts.

First time there. Very impressed. Since it’s been a long while since i ate indian food, I took the safe route and ordered curry chicken and naan, of course. EXCELLENT to say the least. The waiter and hostess were very nice people and made you feel comfortable and the atmosphere is verry clean and spacious. I’d definitely recommend it to a friend. The reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is because anyone that knows me knows I wont give 5 stars for a first time visit. Don’t let it discourage you though, you must try it.

$ 11 or so for a buffet with hardly 6 – 7 items? No wonder my friends give me shit for whenever I take them to a desi restaurant. I initially started going to this place years back only for the appetizers cause driving to Hicksville for pakora’s and chaat was a little heavy on the wallet as a college kid. The quality of the food can be a hit or miss, the one thing I gotta say is that this place is pretty expensive for a Indian restaurant. Some of the curries and daal are big in quantity especially when you order take out, the tandoori chicken is nice to see but its eh taste wise. I’ve called in orders to pick up and when I arrived at the time it would be ready, have waited easily an additional 15 mins or more many times. I highly recommend trying Namaste America in Deer Park on Commack Road, the buffet is great, its cheaper, customer service is great, and the food quality is better than Hicksville!
