McDonald’s

I was standing at the counter waiting to order for over 5 minutes. I was the only person there. The staff ignored me. The second someone else walked up to the counter, they took his order immediately.

I wouldn’t call myself a «regular» here but I have been to this location several times. I’ve been through the drive-​thru as well as ordered at the counter. Each time, the food and service was exactly what I expect — fast and friendly. I also enjoy the self-​serve soft drink station, which some locations don’t have. Speaking of locations, being on the corner of Commack Rd and Vanderbilt Pkwy with no other fast food places within several miles makes it a really ideal location for them. The design of the drive-​thru and parking lot can be a bit erratic but nothing too terrible. Oh, and this location has been serving hot cakes all day before McDonald’s even had their «All Day Breakfast» promo. Talk about being ahead of the curve!

Its a mcdonalds so the food is what it is. The workers are always friendly and I haven’t had any mistakes with my order. The only thing I hate is having to pull around and wait by the door for my order every time I use the drive thru. I understand they need to do this when its busy because the cars would block the entrance to the parking lot but why do they make me pull around when Im the only car there at 6am getting breakfast?

The one star is solely on the drive thru experience. You order your food and pull around the corner for them to bring it out. The parking lot is a mess and people in Long Island can’t drive if their life depended on it. Good luck getting your food without getting into an accident.

I know it’s fast food, but this particular McDonald’s is terrible. I stopped coming here because everytime I come here I deal with attitude and get parked everytime. I was even parked for a cup of coffee! It’s also always stone cold and WATERED DOWN! Anyone that drinks coffee knows that is a super duper no no. That place looks like a factory. They can push buttons on their cellphones all day but can’t push a button to make some coffee. They just add some water to the old stuff. Then I had some punk kid yell at ME because HE forgot half my order. He said I didn’t order it. Then why is it on my receipt? It’s not my fault you hate your job. I didn’t pick it for you. As far as the parking for when they bring your food out, it is off to the side. It’s only dangerous because everyone thinks they’re on a race track. Big rush to get to nowhere. God help you if you force someone to tap their brakes because out comes the horns and the middle fingers. Enjoy!

I have never seen this location not busy. There always seems to be a line around the building. The parking lot as a whole is also always busy and can be a pain to navigate.
Staff here is friendly and we’ve never had a problem with an order.

The reason I give this place two stars is the layout of the drive-​through. Someone is going to get killed. They ask you to move your car to a a designated area for your food. That designated area is also in a traffic lane. DUMB DUMB DUMB. Perhaps management will read this and do what is necessary to fix this. I consider this arrangement truly dangerous.

Check out the quick tip. I get asked to drive around to the side and they bring the food out every time. It’s weird but ok. The food is still hot and tastes fine.

This McDonalds has drive-​thru service and wi-​fi service.

This restaurant offers local workers a discount on full-​priced meals.
I’m not interested in arches, just service and food.
Both are fine here. The parking lot can get busy, but it’s also fine.
I’ve never had English problems here; people do sometimes make mistakes.

What can you say about McDonald’s that everyone doesn’t already know? It’s fast food — convenient and not necessarily healthy.
This particular McDonald’s seems to have a language barrier. On more than one occasion, I had difficulty getting the server to understand my order in English and have had to return food when the server still misunderstood what I wanted. I see that McDonalds offers free English lessons to its staff — a wonderful idea but I wonder how many take advantage of it?

Parking lot’s a mess. They know how to keep the drive-​thru movin’, though. Weak arches (see pic).
