Dollar Star

(3.5 stars) Set in the corner of a large strip mall, this independent dollar store is jammed packed with stuff. A good portion useful, interesting and different that’s worth a look amongst the portion that was just pure crap. Seems like they have a lot of close-​out type items that makes up their stock. Last time I was here they had cool-​looking invitations and the items as a whole were generally useful.
I like dollar stores for cheap decoration and supplies for food get-​togethers at home, sundry household items, office supplies, party items, greeting cards and gift wrap/​bags.
You can make nice gift baskets with a cheapie wicker or plastic basket filled with all kinds of $ 1 store stuff (choose wisely) for $ 10 or less. I gave $ 1 store manicure/​pedicure (themed and colorful) baskets to a few young girls who helped me out once and they were well-​received.
