Terrible service, surly waitress complaining about being double seated. The place was almost empty. cold fries, filthy restrooms with water standing on the floor. burnt corn nuggets. The sandwiches were cold. They really dropped the ball with this place.

Date night for us is more of a Sunday lunch. We saw An advertisement for Sonny’s and found the restaurant next to WallMart.
The service was good and the food was served is a reasonable amount of time. There has been some management change that the waitress seemed less than thrilled about. There was something to do with the waitresses having cash out their own tables. It was an odd thing for her to share. Family eating experience for sure.
We ordered a Sampler to share. It was good with a variety of sauces. My wife, a beef lover, said the chicken was the best item.
The serving size was great. The menu was beautiful. Lots of yummy things to choose from. Good family eating.
We’ll return

We normally stop and eat here before going to the Outlet or on our way to Charlotte NC. The food is usually REALLY GOOD! But today the ribs (hard & tough)…chicken (looked under cooked) & pull pork didn’t taste like the were smoked or BBQed the food was a great big waste of time and money! Our server was very nice, oh yeah… the fried okra were good as always. The restrooms could use some cleaning! Oh well we will find a new stop when we are here! By the way I wouldn’t even give it a full star…:(!

Haven’t ate at this resturant before so we gave it a try. Was very happy with our visit. I got the all you can eat ribs and they came out as quick as I ordered them. the ribs were better than some I’ve had at big money resturants too. My wife got the pulled pork plate and could not finish hers. The price was as expected and service was great. I would definitely go back!

I just had the absolute worst meal ever. I ordered simple pulled pork meal with fries and baked beans which should have been excellent since that is what they are known for but instead my entire meal when delivered was cold. The fries and bread were both not only cold but hard they were so old. The restaurant was pretty empty which means we should have had quick service. And while our actual waitress was nice and prompt our food took awhile to come out which is weird since it was cold so clearly all they had to do was scoop it out of a bin and dump on our plate. The meal was so bad I not likely will never darken the door of any Sonnys again.

So disgusting!!! Server told us the green beans were great and that they were frozen… Really? They taste like straight from the can. Salad bar was so unappetizing! Not sure why people would go here?!? So many better restaurants out there.

Beef Brisket is worst I have ever had. After removing all of the fat had a small amount of meat on my plate, not worth the $ 12. The pulled pork looked good. As far as the restaurant itself it could use some serious cleaning. The bathrooms were dirty and tables sticky. Only 2 tables at 6 pm when we arrived, that should’ve been a sign.

First impression was the place could use a good pressure washing. My wife went to use the bathroom and it was filthy. Not many people in the place should have been our clue. Our food arrived was bland, flavorless, and greasy. Of the four sauces one was palatable, but not great. The others, well just not good. The salad bar looked several days old and unkempt. This is a prime example of why I don’t like chain barbecue. My kids said we should have gone to chic fil a instead, next time I will listen to them.

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Cherokee, NC. Husband ordered the Pork Three Ways and he enjoyed his meal. I ordered the bottomless salad bar, but really should have checked out the bar before ordering. There wasn’t very much variety and the chicken salad was not good. The vegetable soup was bland. We did have good service — very nice waitress.

I got a pulled pork sandwich. The meat was soggy and flavorless. My bun was soggy. The bbq sauces were subpar. I hear the beans are waaay too sweet– although I did not try them myself. The service was ok.
I did appreciate that they had a bottomless salad bar available for $ 3.50 with purchase of an entrée. Otherwise… not so good.

LOUSY. one star for good coleslaw, one star for service. Why do they think they can serve dry old reheated ribs and no one wil notice? And i NEVER met a chicken i didn’t like but this was about too overcooked to eat. Even the baked pototo was not good. Was not in the mood to complain. Will never go back. Love being able to vent on Unilocal
