Very poor customer service-mainly by the women. You literally have to corner one of them to get help and they roll their eyes and act as if they are doing you a favor. Had an issue with the manager and regular cashier when they wouldn’t allow me to use money I had earned the last time I had gone in and spent over 100 or 200, can’t remember the amount. Anyways, after spending that much they should’ve honored the money I earned especially since I had the receipt and they gave me a hard time and would not budge. Need to talk to a GM.

I received an email yesterday morning that the commerce store was having 80 percent off. I was there when the doors open and they said everything had sold out. It does not make any sense.

I have been to the Citadel many times but never wondered into this particular store. My 1st time and surly my last for this location at least. How did they manage to earn a one star rating you ask? The store was a disaster. Clothes were on the floor, men’s dress shirts out of packages and the clear wrapping around them also on the floor, tables of cable knits piled on top of each other in complete disarray. I visited on a Friday evening, so recovery is not always perfect and that understandable but when taking a closer look I was able to see the store seems to always be running half ass. I entered the fitting room, the floor was dusty and covered in pins, that were removed from the men’s dress shirts. The two pin pads located on the wall were covered in hundreds of pins. It looked like a porcupine! This was clearly not cleaned in over 6 months. The store had 4 associates working inside on the Friday night, all standing at the register drinking Starbucks and chatting away. A lot of sales were going on at the time, I approached one of the female associates and asked a question on the sign discount and pricing. She was unable to do basic math and creates tangible answers. Lucky for her she has a register who can do all that for her. The mirrors were smudged and needed a very good cleaning but non of this was getting done cause of the coffee drinking taking place. I left this store feeling disgusted to have been inside. This is no way to run a store or handle customer service. I see why people shop here, there is great deals, men’s and women’s work clothes for very reasonable prices. So for that the one star.

I love Van Heusen… and I doubly love when Van Heusen notifies me about their double points event in November. My wool Kenneth Cole coat has seen better days being 10 years old so it was high time I bought a new winter coat. Bingo! — they had one I liked, stylish, on trend and in my size for half off. I also picked up a Bernini cross body purse, a blouse, a lace tank, a sweater, and these laser cut silver tear drop earrings that are just gorgeous. The earrings were one sale $ 8.50. Oh, and you can shop for your man here, too, as Van Heusen is mostly known for their menswear. They carry everything except for shoes here… you can shop at their sister store, Bass, for those which is also located in The Citadel.

Short Version: Business attire if you desire. Long Version: First of all, I have to say, the prices here are amazing. If you’re looking for business clothing, from formal suit to business casual, this is a great place to go, especially if you’re looking for a great price. No high-end designer clothing here, but certainly clothing that looks good for the office.

This is the third time I’ve come to this location all months apart and their selection of collared shirts are definitely lacking. What you see is what you get… not a whole lot of overstock in the back. How hard is it to find a 16 ½×32/33…apparently pretty tough at this location.

10⁄15 edit: I’m upping my rating to 5 stars because their rewards program is so good. I really hate joining these things(do I really need to keep track of another card??) but the rewards program and its discounts are extremely generous. Is it a bad thing when a nearby favorite store goes under? I used to get a few work clothes from Mervyns every now and then, because they carried almost identical stuff to Robinsons May. When Mervyns closed, I discovered the Van Heusen store at Citadel. As it turns out, Geoffrey Beene, Arrow & Van Heusen are all owned by one company, and all 3 brands are represented at this store, with some pretty nice discounts. Men’s dress shirts with the button down collars are hard to find in some department stores, but the good thing is that this store carries them. The selection of ties is also top notch. My new job has me getting lots of clothes for work, so this has become my new go-to place. The employees are also really helpful & will help you with a size if you don’t see it on the shelf.
