Conflicted: Mini Crème Filled Cupcakes, purchased at local grocer had ZERO«crème» filling! Can I prove it? No, because we ate them all before taking a photo(!). Basically a bunch of vegan brownie bites that are yummy. Everyone had same complaint…“What the hell? Aren’t these supposed to be crème filled?”

This place was great! I had a smoked tofu sandwich with kale salad and gluten free cookie bar. It was all amazing! I had a bite of the teriyaki wrap too. Also great! I plan to try more of their menu. Convenient access to highway. Casual dining and take out. Considering the food is vegan and organic, I felt the prices are great.

Their carrot cake… seriously I’m in love with! It has so much texture and flavor(yummy!) my mouth is watering. Hope you stay around for a long, long time, Café Indigo, for vegans like me who think your treats are awesome! Peace and Love, –Carrot Cakester

I give 3 stars for a few reasons. I tried twice. The 1st trip, I had chili and it was very under seasoned. It was served with really dry cornbread. I was not able to eat much lunch at all. Our second trip, I ordered an All-American burger and it wasn’t quite what I had hoped for. My husband ordered a seitan steak and cheese wrap. He enjoyed it a lot. The sauce inside was pretty tasty. We had dessert both times we visited. Definitely fell in love with the chocolate cheesecake and carrot cake. The chocolate frosted cupcakes were really tasty as well.

This place is a little out of the way for me, but definitely worth the drive or stopping when I am in the area. I have ordered about 6 different menu items, and also have had about 4 different baked treats from them and literally everything is so good… I am impressed every time! The«All American Burger» is one of my favorites. Whether you are a vegan or not, you will love this place. Small/cozy environment, super friendly staff, great food and service. You really cannot go wrong.

Café Indigo is a gem of Concord! It’s 100% vegan and although I am not vegan, I love the food! The desserts are out of control delicious. My fav is the carrot cake! Our office goes there for work lunches often and we are always satisfied with the food. My personal fav is the falafel burger with the garlic aioli sauce… omg delic! And you feel healthy after eating there, like you did your body a favor. The only reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars is because it can be difficult to find and give people directions to. Service has been historically excellent.

When we first pulled up, I had my doubts because the exterior isn’t what I expected. We stopped in to this adorable café based on Unilocal reviews, and I’m so glad we did! The restaurant itself is small and clean with adorable artwork. The menu has a wider variety than I expected. We split the cheese steak and all-American burger. Both were delicious, but the cheese steak is worth making the drive again. Vegan food worth drooling over. The girl who waited on us was really sweet too. Great experience, and I would recommend to vegans and meat-lovers alike.

I’ve just recently discovered the fantastic Café Indigo. I’m not a vegan nor a vegetarian but wow do they make some tasty treats! I love that they have full size as well as mini size options of their baked goods, allowing you to sample many different treats without all the guilt. I’m not a chocolate fan so I’ve tried their carrot cake, lemon poppy seed cupcakes, vanilla donuts, and a cute decorated icing sugar cookie. I can’t believe how moist and flavorful each item was. The sugar cookie was the best sugar cookie I’ve ever tried! The carrot cake and carrot cake cupcakes are also the best I’ve ever had hands down! I’m confident that if you gave any of these to someone they would never know it was vegan unless you told them. I can see why their products are sold in many restaurants and food stores. Lesson to myself, I always regret not buying more treats for later when I get home. As for food there, I’ve only tried the vegetable and ginger dumplings. They are good not amazing as they lacked the ginger flavor in the title of them. The tomato sauce that accompanies them tastes very close to ketchup in my opinion. I liked the dumplings better not dipped in the sauce. Like others have mentioned, the location is not where you’d expect. The food more than makes up for the lack of location and ambiance. Factor in the reasonably priced items and it’s a absolute must try! Well done Café Indigo!

Had a really delicious avocado wrap which was on the special board, we also ate tons of desserts which were all very good. The only disappointment was the Mac and«cheeze» that we bought frozen and brought home. It was unfortunately completely flavorless, so I am not sure if it was supposed to taste like that or they just messed up the one we ate. It definitely didn’t have any vegan cheese in it, it pretty much tasted like pasta and dry breadcrumbs with no «cheeze» and no seasoning.

I’m giving Café Indigo 3 stars based on the baked goods alone; without those, it would easily be 2 or 2 ½ stars. I wanted to fall in love with it… I really did. From now on, I’m sticking to their sweets & that’s that. We swung thru on our way out to Vermont to grab a bite & some treats for the road. By swung thru, I mean drove around for 10 minutes trying to find the actual location. Terribly situated in a strange industrial strip mall, the interior décor is equally as unimpressive. Service was friendly & patient as I tried to narrow down my options quickly & the food came out really fast. Sadly, we were completely underwhelmed by our lunch. For the price, the servings are small. I ordered the veggie«crab» cakes with slaw & tartar sauce– 3 thin, GREASY, mushy, bland cakes with a tiny dressing cup of slaw & some cornbread… I just wasn’t dazzled. The saving grace was the tartar sauce. My partner had the cheeseburger & was put off by how mushy & soft it was. HOWEVER! The vegan sweet potato brownie & vegan carrot cake cupcake were heavenly. Both very moist, flavorful, & delicious. I’d definitely go out of my way again if promised one of those brownies. Perhaps there are better dishes to try; worth checking out, for sure!

We moved to Concord from Western NY, and after a long day of unpacking boxes and moving furniture, we needed food. Thanks for feeding us, Café Indigo! It was around 3 on a Friday afternoon and there was one other couple in there. Our food came quickly. We both had salads with eggless salad, which was excellent. Great veggies and the eggless was perfect(I love turmeric). I also had a bowl of corn chowder with cornbread(woah cornbread I’ve missed you!), and my boyfriend had a pepper steak. Their seitan is amazing. I’m interested in the cheesesteak, as we lived off of the vegan ones at Govindas when we stayed in Philly for a week. Oh and we shared some carrot cake, which is no lie some of the best ever. I really like this place, it’s friendly and the food is excellent and makes my food-allergied belly happy. One more thing to like about Concord!

What an unusual and tasty café! What I love about Café Indigo is that they do all of their food from scratch — their bread is made on site, as is their seitan, and obviously the famous carrot cake. You rarely see restaurants go to such lengths; most are happy to just use the pre-made stuff their distributor sells to them. Café Indigo takes no shortcuts and the payoff is big. I had the pepper steak sandwich on their home-made whole wheat bread($ 9) as my lunch. The bread and the seitan were both high-grade and well-done. I think the portion size was small, though, and I could have done without the blue tortilla chips and the tasty(but irrelevant) side of cole slaw that came with it. For dessert I had a slice of the carrot cake($ 3.75) and a mini chocolate ganache cupcake($ 0.75). The former was excellent and lived up to the hype: moist, not too sweet, and not too carrot-y. The chocolate ganache cupcake, however, was dense and dry and not great. The service is friendly. You place your order up front and then go sit down. It took me a moment to realize that. Lastly, the café is in a weird location. It appears to be in a suburban storage complex with a bunch of non-food businesses, which probably keeps the rent down, but also might limit the customer base(no one would ever guess that there’s a café amidst a bunch of warehouses and karate studios). All in all, I applaud Café Indigo for going the extra mile and serving tasty food that takes no shortcuts. It’s rare in this world.

I have never been to your location in Concord as I live in NYC, but I have had some of your dessert. The VEGAN carrot cake is just awesome! I can’t wait to try the lemon poppy seed cake now. I see why Whole Foods in Manhattan carry your products. You are just that good…

Sometimes when I am stressed, like tonight, I stop at Whole Foods on my way home and get a slice of your carrot cake. I don’t know exactly how but my blood pressure drops, my heart warms, and I smile. One bit of cake and all is right in the world. Thank you for that because today I needed that moment.

Vegan comfort food — yum! My daughter and I decided it would be fun to go to a restaurant where we could order ANYTHING from the menu and not be limited to a salad or a plate of french fries. We searched the entire New England region for vegan comfort food and re-routed our return to make a stop at Café Indigo. Worth it! We gorged ourselves on the delicious and fattening sandwiches! Oh the decadence of of creamy coleslaw and special sauce on my «Rachel». My daughter had a faux fish sandwich with rich tartar sauce. Since we had eight hours of driving ahead of us we decided to order food to go. I ordered a teriyaki seitan wrap and she ordered a faux crab cake. Both of these were equally delicious and would make any carnivore drool. We also grabbed some baked goods(brownie, whoopie pies and strawberry rhubarb pie). These were good but had that vegan taste to that I still have not gotten used to. As a brand new vegan at forty-six I still remember the flavor of butter. We also purchased a frozen mac and cheese and plan to have it in the next few days. I spent $ 70.00 for all of the above goodness. Considering the tastiness and that everything is organic this was a bargain that should not be overlooked. The service was a little weird. It is a very small room but you are requested to order at the counter then a girl delivers water and your order. I had to pay for lunch before sitting down to eat because«it gets really busy sometimes». It was was 2:00PM and there was one other couple in the room. I have three credit card slips because she forgot to add my take-out order to our bakery order. It was just odd. Not bad or a deal breaker, just odd.

I’ve only been there once(please move closer to Boston!) but the food was amazing. I had their seitan reuben-ish sandwich, my mom had their panini special. Both great. As people have said, the location is pretty terrible, as in it’s both hard to find, and the ambiance is well… bland. They make the best of it, and make up for it with their great food and desserts. Grab some cole slaw and some carrot cake(or lemon poppyseed cake) on the way out.

I’m so excited to have found a vegan restaurant that also makes vegan baked goods! I have only been there once so far, but if I lived closer I would go all the time. I got the Tofishy sandwich, and loved it. My mom got a lentil burger that was really good also, and the cookie bars were awesome. We also got cupcakes and carrot cake, which we shared with my non-veg family who couldn’t even tell the difference. I will definitely go back, and highly recommend this restaurant. update: I’ve gone back a couple times now, once with my non-vegan dad and sister(who are usually very biased against vegetarian food in general) — well, they both loved everything they tried here and my dad said he would come back!

Good Food — Heck great food Horrendous location, both exterior and interior. They make the best of this site, but it’s neither intimate nor romantic. Very utilitarian. Worth going to, though.

I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Café Indigo. I’ve had great experiences with Café Indigo’s desserts(carrot cake!) and brunch, but not so much with lunch options. Portions have been small and I find the food a little… off. I tried the veggie cakes when I first visited, and they actually gave me food poisoning. Perhaps I visited at a bad time and ordered a bad option, but really. I would recommend going to brunch and trying some carrot cake, but that’s about it.

I love Café Indigo — the vegan cheesecake is worth it, not to mention the other(already highly reviewed) baked goods. They make excellent seitan, and the veggie cakes(vegan version of crabcakes) are to die for. It is definitely worth the trip to their odd location for some of the only vegan food in Concord.
