Absolutely horrible service walked in with my daughter asked for Hibachi got a big sign or roll of the eyes and was told that I needed to wait to see if a table was available. Hostess came back told me we both had to order a meal if we wanted to sit at the Hibachi Table we agreed and was led to a table with a horrible snotty attitude. Once seated two waitresses kept their arms folded and leaned up against the wall as we sat there for almost 15 minutes we finally stood up and walked out. My worst experience at a restaurant ever really bad Vibe I have never walked in sat down and walked out before ever

Food is consistently good. Service continues to improve. Weekend nights you’d better call ahead. Always packed. Atmosphere is far superior than Moritomo. Frequent customer.

I have been going to this restaurant for several years. Generally, the food has been quite good. However, tonight is the first time that I had to walk out before even getting dinner. They just couldn’t seem to make it happen, even after waiting an hour. I went back to my records; have spend a few thousand at this restaurant over the last five years. But such rudeness by the bar waitress ends it for me. I won’t go back.

I’ve eaten here many times over the past several years — always at the hibachi grill. Service has definitely gone downhill over the years. The food is good, but that’s about it. Our latest experience was the worst. We had a reservation but didn’t get seated until 45 mins after the reservation time. It took another half hour to get drinks(which was just water!!). Then, we didn’t see the chef until a full TWOHOURS after our reservation time. We watched at least two tables that were seated after us get served before us. I asked for updates and was just told«sorry!» We were there with kids — they just wanted to go home at that point, and we didn’t blame them! When he finally arrived, the chef rushed through cooking and was rude — the kids weren’t impressed(neither was I). Drinks ordered were never served(but they sure did put them on the bill!), we had to ask for steamed rice twice… It was just not good. Not sure we’ll return for more of this frustration, especially at the cost!

I have been to this hibachi grill several times; honestly I have never gotten bad service here and the food is delish ! The food is always in point — I have had the chicken /steak here and I love the soup and salad as well; I actually like the fact that you sit with different groups of people makes it interesting and at times entertaining — the food here is WAAAAY better than MASA in Manchester and is actually a lot better deal on price and quantity; I always have enough left over for an entire meal -/

The food is good here but the young bartender has no personality. She was the only bartender on and we waited 10 minutes to even order a beer. We ordered two beers right at the end of Happy Hour or exactly 6 and she wouldn’t honor it. Great customer service keep up the crappy service. Punishing the customer because you are short handed is the way to increasing sales. To add we come here three times a week and always hope she’s not the working.

I’ll start off by saying that the food is consistently good and fresh. The service on the other hand… consistently bad, rude, unenthusiastic, and not friendly. We sat at the bar the other night and the bartender was complaining that we sat down because she wanted a break because it had been a busy night at the bar. Umm, that’s your JOB! Having been in the service industry in the past… it’s not that difficult to put a smile on your face and be pleasant. Not to mention… they need a lesson in how to make some of the drinks on their menu. Worst Mai tai’s I’ve ever had. Terribly sweet and not at all what a REAL mai tai is supposed to taste like. Unfortunately, I’m sure we’ll be back because there aren’t a lot of options in the area for good sushi. Moritomos has much better and friendlier service.

This is a favorite spot for me and several friends. In particular the Teppanyaki hibachi dinner show. The Chef’s are funny and interact with everyone the food is fresh and cooked well. The Waitstaff is attentive and hospitable. This is one of my alltime favorite resturaunts

We went during happy hour. Food was good and drinks were also good. My only complaint, and why I don’t give 4 stars, is the service. Took too long to be seated and then longer to be waited on. Staff looks annoyed and as though they don’t want customers. have never seen such unpleasant staff.

My girlfriend and I met a large party here for hibachi for a work outing. The food itself was actually pretty good! The shrimp was some of the best I’ve had and the choices for hibachi are plentiful. Where Ichiban fails is the service. We were seated for 25 minutes before our orders were taken and waited another 15 to 20 for the meal to start. We were given the choice of steamed or fried rice. I opted for the steamed rice, but never actually got any. The chef distributed all of the fried rice, and left me dry. He was also very low energy and did some of the fewest tricks I’ve seen at a hibachi restaurant. Not too sure of the appropriateness of this, but even though the bill was only for my girlfriend and I, gratuity was included in the bill, preventing me from expressing my distaste in tip form.

The food was good! However, this was my worst dining experience ever! The manager and server were just plain rude. We went with another couple and we both had a coupon, one of us had a 10 off and the other had 5 off. We were only allowed to use one and they made a very big deal about it! Since we were at hibachi we could only use one per table. Which makes no sense since you end up sitting with strangers anyways. Each of our bills was well over $ 100, so it was completely ridiculous they wouldn’t take 5 off the other bill. I mean seriously! Worst customer service ever! And they told us that they didn’t care if we ever came back!

We went on a FRI evening for dinner and were promptly seated and served in the regular dining room. Our choices included vegetable tempura, seaweed salads, and the sushi-sashimi platter for 2. Everything was excellent. We were a bit disappointed that the platter dinner only comes with a garden salad, and upgrading to the seaweed salad was not allowed(we paid full price for them). We were also a bit amused by the 70s music, but that must be to cater to the active bar crowd.

First of all, great sushi! Lots of fun choices, and the best sushi pizza I’ve had! That is a great starter for a non-sushi lover. Clean, comfy modern décor. Casual place, good service, huge parking lot. If you are alone, sushi bar is the way to go as they will treat you well.

Stopped in for dinner and experienced the worst service I’ve ever had here. The bartender looked at me 3 or 4 times before asking if I wanted a drink, and that was only because I was staring at her. Once I finally got the drink, it took her about 15 minutes before asking me what I wanted to eat and she never gave me a menu. They used to have the best lemongrass hot and sour soup, with a clear, light broth that was amazing. Now it’s a thick, brown broth that only tastes like soy sauce, it was disgusting. The sushi took about twenty minutes to come out but it was very good and fresh. I will definitely think twice about going back there. I thought the terrible service might be a fluke, but it doesn’t appear so after reading some of the reviews.

Stopped in for the first time at Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse and had a great time. Some of the best vegetable sushi I have ever had. Good: Fun experience, very good food, our chef/cook was friendly and very entertaining, service was quick, waitress was prompt and everything was swiftly. There was also more than ample parking too which is nice! Bad: Incredibly noisy(don’t expect to have a long talk at dinner, it’s not going to happen), the bathrooms were a mess, very crowded. Over all I give it a 4 out of 5. I will return if I am back in the area and am with a larger sized group.

In Concord it’s slim pickens for Japanese food; so that’s why I’m giving this restaurant a 4. If this restaurant was in LA/SF/Boston/NYC, it would a 2.5. Taking that into consideration our overall meal was extremely pleasant. The service was very attentive and sweet. We ordered: –Agedashi Tofu: decent –Chicken Karaage: decent [ the sauce that accompanied it wasn’t typical, it was like buffalo hot sauce?] –Edamame: bad, not fully cooked and extremely salty. –NY Roll: decent [ my moms loved it!] obviously these aren’t staples to Japanese cuisine, and we didn’t mess with the hibachi grill either. All and all I say go if you’re in the area, and have a hankering for some Japanese food. Just remember, when any restaurant regardless of its background has a very extensive menu, it’s difficult for the kitchen to do all the dishes right.

Recently, I stopped in at Ichiban on Manchester Street for a late lunch. I arrived here around 2:53PM and was promptly seated in the quiet dining room and given a dinner menu. I was aware that lunch is served until 3PM Mon-Sat since I reviewed the takeout menu before coming here. The waitress arrives at my table shortly after I’m seated and I ask for a lunch menu and I was told it was dinner time. I then took out my cellphone displaying 2:58PM and the waitress reluctantly scurried back to the kitchen and came back saying I could still order lunch, the customer is always right! For lunch, I ordered the Ton Katsu Lunch Box($ 9) which included salad, California roll, white rice, and 2 spring rolls. The salad had fresh iceberg lettuce, carrots, and tomatoes, topped with a tangy creamy ginger dressing. The Lunch Box arrived quickly after I finished the salad. The ton katsu was very tender boneless pork coated in a crispy breading, not too greasy with dipping sauces. The California roll was very tasty with seasticks and avocado. The white rice had a soft texture, slightly sticky. The spring rolls was light and crispy filled with cabbage & carrot, not too greasy. Overall, the food I had was very good, fresh, and tasty. The portion of food was just right for lunch, yet filling. Once things were straightened out in the beginning, the service was prompt and went very smoothly.

Very reasonably priced, fresh seafood with a very conscientious and courteous staff to create it and serve it to you. We loved every bite! If we lived here, we would probably eat here often. I give it three stars because I thought it lacked ambiance and there was a wicked draft through the window the whole time I was eating. The wait staff have a lot of difficulty understanding english but muttle through. I expect that, I suppose it is the norm. Still, can’t toss 4 strars on that experience.
