This place has so much to offer! Choose to sit at the hibachi, the sushi bar or a private tatami room, each Will give you a different and unique dining experience. I go there for the hand crafted sushi and sashimi which is hands down the best in the area and my kids love the hibachi. I recommend a reservation on weekends, especially in the winter.

After living in Asia for 6yrs it’s hard for me to find good Asian food restaurants in the USA. However Morimoto has made quite the good impression on my list of sushi restaurants in NH. All the servers are friendly, professional, and fluent in English. They all make sure to personalize your experience dining with Morimoto. My personal favorites are the Udon noodle soup**(real udon broth), beef terriyaki, & of course the Sushi(my favourites being the ebi nigiri). It’s always fun to do the hibachi grill if you haven’t had the experience however in my opinion I in general find it a much more valued experience to sit with friends at the private classic Japanese style eating areas. That way you still get an awesome Japanese culture experience at a much more affordable price as well as you are still sitting within talking distance of your friends. The atmosphere here is really nice compared to other Asian restaurants around the area. And when they do get busy(which they do!) the restaurant is laid out in a way where the guests never feel overwhelmed or get a chaotic feeling like at some sushi restaurants. I really recommend coming here for lunch specials if you are in the area. :) Also they do take out!

I really do feel sad for the people of Concord who think this is how sushi is supposed to be. We thought we might have caught them on a bad night, so based on the amazing reviews, we mistakingly ordered again. One roll wasn’t even edible, and the others were supermarket quality at best. Husband said the hibachi was just ok. $ 70 for the two of us for takeout is highway robbery. We won’t be returning.

Love the Sushi at Moritomo’s. I have been a fan since 2006, found by accident looking for quick meal while on the road working and found Sushi, Heaven. The fish is always fresh, kept at the proper tempature and the chef’s design the plates are very pleasing to the eye… Try the Lucy and Teresa roll…

I started eating sushi in San Francisco and I have pretty high standards. I don’t like most places in the area. Moritomo was an exception to this for me for the past year and I had been enjoying it with good food and service. It’s a bit pricey but isn’t everywhere? We went Dec. 23rd for my husband’s birthday and had $ 80 worth of sushi but it was mediocre this time. Something was off about one of the rolls, it just wasn’t fresh as it normally is and I felt ill all night. I normally can write off experiences like this as an «off night» but it’ll be hard for me to come back again. It’s hard to get over bad, raw fish.

love, love, love, love the Sushi at Moritomos. Hands down the best sushi in Concord. I have been coming to Moritomos for years and always enjoy my experience there whether I am getting take out or dining inside.

After reading reviews my husband and I decided to give this place a shot. It’s located in a shopping plaza and isn’t that big of a place. We were greeted right away by a hostess and seated promptly. It was busy but not busy enough that it was too loud or crowded. The tables are set pretty close to one another and there isn’t much room at the sushi bar itself. The drink menu left much to be desired. I expected there to be more cocktails/specialties. I ordered some sort of gin cocktail and my husband ordered a beer. My drink was terrible and tasted like legit gin on the rocks. I drank 1⁄3 of it. The sushi menu, however, was overwhelming. I appreciate when there is a good selection of designer rolls on the menu, but there were pages upon pages of rolls(with photos). It took a long time for us to decide on anything. We finally agreed on three rolls and my husband got a side of house rice. The waitress didn’t speak much to us at all, except to take our order. The sushi arrived fairly quickly and it was pretty good. Not mind blowing but standard. I don’t think we’ll go there again. It just didn’t wow us like we were hoping.

Best sushi I’ve ever had. I’m not a sushi master of any kind, but I couldn’t believe how delicious it was. We had the Alicia roll, sashimi deluxe, miso, and the tako appetizer. I can honestly say I’ve never had Tako like that. The tangy vinegar was superb and the tako was soft and delicious. The staff were all friendly. We’re definitely making this our sushi place of choice. Highly recommend.

For a little hole in the wall, strip mall place, I really like this place. The food is great, and the service is spectacular. One thing that I usually complain about is that sushi places lack imagination. This place actually has several imaginative offerings and I liked them all.

The restaurant has two sides: Hibachi side and the Sushi Restaurant side. We ate at the restaurant side since we are a fans a sushi. The appetizers specials for sushi were extensive and truly showed the creativity of the chef. The waiter was excellent as well, very knowledgeable and always with a good suggestion. I did found myself a private parking spot too… Awesome

I don’t know if it’s because I’m from Michigan and we were spoiled on great quality Japanese food, but this place was subpar at best.

Worst sushi chef ever. Food prepared with no gloves and staff aren’t speaking English with bosses yelling at them in front customer like they are dogs or slaves

Always pretty good. Rolls are made well and the Chef-sans can cut Toro as good as they can in Boston. Private tables, great hibachi which is very entertaining, and the service is perfect. For strip mall in Concord NH, it can’t be beat. Don’t hesitate to give this place your business!

Excellent Japanese restaurant. We stopped in for an early dinner on the way home from Conway. We had two maki rolls along along with a couple chicken plates. The maki rolls were amazing. Sushi rice was warm and perfect.

I have been to Moritomo a number of times. I have lived in Japan for several years. This is not«authentic» Japanese food; however, after some saké, it doesn’t matter since the food tastes good as it is. I tend to go for the bento box which does remind me of some of the food I’ve eaten at Japanese railroad stations. Staff is friendly but the food is a bit pricey for what you get.

Mediocre and over priced. We had a table for seven. The appetizers were small portions but came out nicely prepared and timely. But way too much money for the quality and quantity.

You’ll see lots of five stars and one stars in the reviews here. I think that’s because they do some things very well, and some things less than well. They have a new menu(writing this in March 2014) with fewer items, but many more original sushi rolls. After many visits over several years, I have narrowed my preferences to the sushi and sashimi which is fresh, good quality and nice portions, and all of the«hot pot» soups are very satisfying with generous portions.(Take your time. Everything in the pot stays close to boiling hot for a long time.) I usually go at around 5 – 5:30 and the seating is wide open at the sushi bar and tables. The private tatami rooms are great for small groups. Usually there are only two and sometimes three sushi chefs and I have never seen them work at anything less than full steam. Pretty amazing to watch. Their take-out business is brisk and when the restaurant is packed, you might have to wait for your sushi or sashimi order. The miso soup is mostly water and tasteless, with tiny cubes of tofu and a square of seaweed. Instead, I usually opt for the salad with dressing on the side. It’s mostly lettuce, but always fresh tasting. Yakisoba and yakiudon with chicken is good… noodles are tasty, and what little chicken that’s in it is good. Waitstaff has always been helpful and friendly.

The food is great, the service is awful. I’ve never seen such a harried manager in my life. Not sure what the problem is, but I wish it would resolve. The staff are usually over attentive and a little awkward about serving and clearing. It can be uncomfortable. Once, I was seated at the teppan yaki — or hibachi — with my boyfriend. The chef was slinging food into people’s mouths, and he said to me «Open your sexy mouth.» It was inappropriate. Highly inappropriate. On another occasion, my boyfriend and I were told that there was a 20 minute wait for the sushi bar. We waited over an hour. When we were finally seated, we hovered over the two obviously available sushi bar seats while the hostess walked off into the dining room. The sushi bar was reserved. They only had a dining table available. The thing is, we were flexible, but the staff acted irritated with us for suggesting the sushi bar seats might be for us. They never said ANYTHING about seating us in the dining room. Just marched off without a word and then got mad at us for being confused. Tonight, I got seated at the sushi bar okay. I waited over 20 minutes for a spicy salmon roll, and when I got it, it was lumpy and falling apart. I was starving and ate it anyway. The bill comes and the waitress certainly didn’t give me some kind of discount, and only a casual«sorry.» I tipped my usual 20% or more because who knows where the error is, and people live on their tips, but I felt cheated. They didn’t deserve it. I did what a good customer does, I tipped and complained to the manager. She looked spaced out and vaguely said«okay…» trailing off as she wandered into the dining room. Enough. I’m taking my courtesy and tips to another establishment.
