This is a great location and the staff are nice. I walk in I’m greeted with a smile and they are really helpful. I believe her name was Angela? She was very helpful I asked what flats were comfortable and I never have worn/bought a flat with that curve shape to it, like it looks like a banana-ish shape. She was even wearing the flat she recommended to me in the store. Normally when I walk into a payless, sometimes not everyone is happy to greet you but this location had me feeling welcome A buy one get one half off even for sale is a bonus! I love my shoes I originally stopped to get a pair than go to ross, but I walked out with 4 pairs of shoes. For payless not bad for the price or design. Woot woot Thank you!

This is a letter I emailed to the corporate customer service: To Whom this may concern; I wanted to share with you my experience at your location in the Sunvalley Mall in Concord, California. We decided to come in the store today looking for some new shoes for my two daughters. As I walked through the size 13 – 2 ½ size kids aisle I was happy to see a box of red sneakers marked with a red tag as $ 2. So I proceeded to let my youngest try them on, and voila they fit. Figured for a $ 2 deal why not, right? So we walked through the aisles and didn’t find anything for my eldest daughter so we headed to the register. As I pulled out 3 $ 1 bills I looked at the register display and saw $ 19.99, I asked the cashier(Salice is what she said her name was) why it was so much since the tag said $ 2. This is when I noticed she had removed the $ 2 red tag from the box; I asked Salice why she removed the tag and proceeds to tell me that the tag was incorrect, the shoes are not marked down. At this point a girl behind her starts telling me how tags get switched and or fall off. I said never mind then I will pass on the shoes, the no name girl begins to tell me in a condescending tone how nothing in this store is $ 2. I then brought it to her attention that they need to change the tags because I was mislead by the $ 2 red tag. This is when the condescending tones got worse and I asked the no name girl what her name was and she said«I don’t have to tell you that» at this point I said okay and took a picture of her. There where 4 girls behind the counter 3 of them began to argue with me over the price tag. I informed them how horrible customer service they have provided me and left the store agitated by the behavior of these Payless employees. I do not wish for anything free nor discounts in anything. I only wish to share with you how these employees represent your company. Just wanted to share this as I have never experienced this type of service before.
