Who is the dude who is always in front of this place smoking? Same dude, every time. The food might be the best in town, but I’ll never go in.

I have amazing salads at this café. They are very flavorful and large. The food tastes great and is exactly what I want to last through the day. The service is really friendly, nice, and fast. I enjoy the atmosphere very much.

Need I say more: Authentic palatschinken just like my great grandmother used to make! I thought I was getting a «crêpe.» So surprised when out came a palatschinke just like my Nana used to make. Just like Proust’s madeleine, one whiff and I was transported back to Nana’s kitchen.

I won’t say that I didn’t feel like people were staring at me, but hey, it’s not unexpected and not the first time. Better than being asked, «Are you in the right place?» which actually happened to me at a restaurant of a different ethnicity. There are smaller seating by the TV, but there are more bigger tables. I’ll safely assume people often go there to watch soccer. The other patrons were very relaxed and comfortable, which helped me too, since I had no idea what anyone was saying. The cashier was very helpful and friendly. She makes everything from scratch. I ordered a very filling salad and hot tea. I liked how some of the teas were not American. I bought some wafer bars and clover seeds, or at least that’s what I thought the package said… On my laptop, I translated some of the words on the packaged snacks I bought, but that got tiring real quick. There’s also free wifi, so I was happy camper. I’d probably stop by more often… if I was a local!

Good variety of eropean food, mainly bulgarian. Love the crepes and salads. Great for your morning coffee and breakfast.

Too bad we live in San Leandro, ’cause that means we can’t patronize this café more often. Great food! Nice little grocery shop! Nice staff. In fact, I have to just go with wife and kids now that I think about this place! If you appreciate eastern European food, or are curious about it, please go to this café! We sat at the counter and food was made up for us. Nice beers, wine to wash it down. I am American born and bred and I can say poor Americans are so myopic in their taste-buds. Bulgarian cheese, salamis, dried meats, pickled stuff, are superior to some of the Amercian counter-parts. Especially for cheeses. If they opened a café in Oakland, I’d be down there once a week or more!!!

They are mostly a café, but they have a small section with groceries. This is a mainly Bulgarian place. And because their grocery items are limited there isn’t much to get if you are not bulgarian. I have no idea how their cooked meals taste.
