Day’s Inn Hickory

The rooms are newly done and very nice. Huge mini fridge (lol) clean, staff is lovely and no ones in the pool so very relaxing.
The faults though, the outside looks really really… unkept the room was hotter than heck when we walked in and took a very long time to get manageable.
But no bed bugs no bullet holes and no hookers

I give 1 for helping staff and 1 for the breakfast. My room felt totally unsecured. I could see daylight through the door jam. The lock felt very insecure, the box spring padding was coming out, the sheets were so thin that they could easily be torn apart, the blankets were as old as me and I am a grandmother, towels were stained, the toilet would run every so often, there was an ashtray with the butt of a cigar on the bedpost, neither TV remote worked, the lamp shades were cracked. I was so tired, I forgot to check for bedbugs but woke up to the thought at 3 in the morning wondering. Granted, I smoke (not cigars), but never had a smoker’s room that lack of attention to the atmosphere. And the help or owner, friends and/​or family hang out in the Executive suite. How professional is that? And for that I paid $ 80. Tonight I am in a EconoLodge for $ 65 and they will get a review completely opposite of this. In fact the Comfort Inn I stayed at the night before will get the opposite. I know they are owned by the same but it goes to show you who wants your business back. I hope that not all Days Inn’s are like this, but I will never know.
