Several negative experiences during my visit today. First my husband was curious about the bubble tea as he has had something with tapioca pearls at another restaurant. He asked many questions and ordered the Thai Tea with pearls, which seemed similar to what he had tasted before based on the waitresses description. What he received(which I tasted as well) tasted like burnt sweet tea with milk. He asked if he could replace it with something else– he had also been considered the green bubble tea– but the waitress told him since it did not come with any refills, he could not. Our family of 4 each ordered something different off of the menu and all came to the same conclusion– the rice was the only thing that tasted good. It was extremely overpriced– my meal alone was more than $ 15(which was the #1, I substituted fried rice for steamed rice, which is a $ 2.50 up charge, and a drink). At the end of the meal, as we were paying for our meal, I wanted to pay using 2 separate cards(as the meal ended up costing much more than I originally thought) and told the hostess exactly how much I wanted on each card. She told me she could not do that and negotiated a different price for each card instead. This is not a big deal, but more the principle of the matter after an already negative experience. As I was paying, the bubble tea my husband had ordered that we were taking home with us and had only had 2 sips taken from it ended up being knocked over. I pointed this out to the hostess and there was no offer to replace it, so there was almost $ 4.50 wasted. For people who are more familiar with Phở food and are positive what they are ordering will be enjoyed, this place may work out perfectly for you. For me and my family, we will not be returning.

It all depends on what you go there for … not authentic vietnamese. It IS exactly what we were told it was, Americanized vietnamese food. The Phở broth for beef phở is ok. Lacking in some additional seasonings to make it excellent. Love the portion and the amount of meat in them though! The vermicelli dishes are just OK. The meats do not have a good marinade on them. Seems like a light dusting of flour and just light season(if any) and then hibachi grilled. Made me miss the authentic vietnamese seasonings. The plating is «meh» with vermicelli on top of lettuce and cucumbers. The sauce that goes along with it lacked in flavor and had ugly peeler carrots in it. Where was the color in the dish? No cilantro or green onions or any other herbs at all? Flavorless, bland and did not look yummy. Does no one care anymore about presentation? Love the kids menu for this place! Prices reasonable and the servings for kids are great! The«che» dessert«Nab Vam» was not good at all! Just a sugar syrup with very little coconut and totally flavorless except for pure sugar. The gelatin in it was seriously only yellow and green and looked so nasty! Why such ugly colors? IF you want something good, go to the Laos store nearby there and get one. It’s more colorful and looked like someone actually put in some thought to make it. Sadly, seems like no one at this restaurant cares about the presentation of the food, where is the flavor and love that go into cooking? ANywho, if you like Phở, just go for that. GO for the kids meals for kids. Otherwise, pass on everything else vietnamese.

We have eaten here several times for lunch and supper. It is the best phở in town. The portions are large and the service is friendly and attentive

Stopped by Saigon Garden on my way back from Black Mountain and, frankly, I was surprised to find Vietnamese food this far west of Greensboro. I knew exactly what I wanted – Bun Dau Hu Chien, vermicelli with fried tofu and vegetables. While it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, the food was prepared well and seasoned flavorfully. A solid 3-star performance.

Spring rolls are really good. Be careful with the hot sauce on the table. It will clear the sinuses. Entrees are ok nothing special. Quick and good service.

This is the local place I miss most since moving away. Spring rolls are super fresh, phở is fabulous, fried rice is wonderful, and the mango bubble tea is addictive. We stop at least once every time we’re in town. Miss you guys sooooo much…

Everytime I am in town, I stop by here. My «go-to» dish is ALWAYS the stuffed chicken wings! Yes they are delicious! Its $ 9.79 for three stuffed chicken wings(stuffed with the chicken meat, vermicelli, shiitake mushrooms, shredded carrots, green onions) and then deep fried, and comes with a choice of either white rice or vermicelli noodles, and a side of steamed carrots and a sweet dipping sauce(sauce is made of fish sauce, sugar, water, and has sliced carrots in it). I usually add sriracha to the sauce to give it a kick. This last time I stopped by, I also ordered a thai tea boba style(which comes frozen like a slushy in which I was not aware. I prefer it be regular unfrozen/slushy) and a large bowl of phở(although this«large» seemed more like a «medium» compared to the«phở» places in ATL). It was overall delicious! Give this place a try when you can. I recommend the stuffed chicken wings with rice and an order of the thai tea(not frozen/slushy-like). My total bill was under $ 30. I will be back.

I ordered #18, vermicelli with egg roll, pork, chicken, and shrimp. The meal also comes with bean sprouts, lettuce, peanuts, and cucumbers. As an appetizer I ordered spring rolls with pork and shredded pork. All the food was great, I’ve ate at least four different Vietnamese restaurants and this ones just as good if not better than the previous ones I’ve ate at. My mother is Vietnamese and I’m accustomed to eating this type of food and know what’s what so to speak. I will definitely eat there again.

Thousands of miles and decades of time separate Pleiku, Vietnam and Conover, North Carolina, but the aromas and flavors of aromatic herbs mingled with savory meat and tender noodles melded the two in my mind and in my body at dinner tonight. The dishes served at Saigon Garden in Conover, NC took me back to a time long ago and far away in a war-torn country… and while times have changed significantly the marvelous flavors of Vietnamese cuisine have not. We began our dinner with Hu Tieu Ga(Phở) a steaming bowl of(Rice Noodle) Soup and sliced Chicken topped with the traditional add-to-your-own-liking aromatic herbs and sprouts. The portion was very, very generous(and we had only the«medium» size). Saigon Garden offers large and family-size bowls as well. Next, we shared Bun Thit Heo/Bo Nuong — Cha Gio, a(generous) bowl of vermicelli noodles ladled over a bed of sliced, crisp cucumber and crunchy lettuce, then topped with beautifully caramelized chunks of grilled pork. This particular menu item was also garnished with a fried pork Egg Roll sliced into quarter-size medallions and scattered on top. Drizzle this delectable concoction with some or all of the accompanying dish of Nc mm pha – a traditional dipping or drizzling sauce made with fish sauce, water(or lime juice) a little garlic, sugar and some minced carrots and you have a delightful, delectable entrée. Saigon Garden has an extensive menu with over 50 offerings(plus desserts and drinks). The main dishes range from simple, fresh Spring Rolls or Fried Egg Rolls to a whole Roasted Duck served with rice or vermicelli rice noodles. The prolific menu covers the whims and wishes of both meat eater and vegetarian alike with dishes cooked in the Southern Vietnamese style.

Their Phở is pretty good. The one down-side I found is that they had pre-made noodles packed into the bottom of bowls. They put boiling hot broth on top, but there was a wad of noodles that I had to pry apart in the bottom of the bowl. A pleasing surprise were the pork egg rolls. These were very«pork» flavored, unlike any I’ve had before. Just strong, full, pork flavor. They make a comparable chicken fried rice, to the Phở 777 location, but over-all, when both Saigon Garden and Phở 777 are open for business, I would lean to the other place. The quality of what they produce is a bit under the other guys down the street. Service was quite welcoming and friendly, too!

Pleasantly stuffed! I’ve been here before two years ago and was surprised to see a Vietnamese restaurant in the area. We enjoyed the phở here back then so we decided since we were in the area we would come back. I Unilocaled first and was discouraged by the other reviews but alas we are here. I ordered Vietnamese coffee with ice which was delish. An order each of the fried and fresh rolls that came with dipping sauces. The rolls were very good and the dipping sauces(although different than what I’m used to) complimented the rolls nicely. I ordered a medium bowl of Phở Dac Biet and my hubbie ordered a large.(Really our bowls were the same size) The broth was different but aromatic and flavorful. The amount of meat in the bowls was impressive and plentiful, seriously the most meat I have ever seen in a bowl. Out of probably 1,000 bowls of phở this one had so much of my favorite cuts like tendon and tripe. I kept finding more and more. We are full and happy and headed to the mountains. Definitely recommend!

The waitresses need work. I’ve been here one time and that was enough. I would never go back. The one time we came here, the waitress dumped a whole tray of at least 5 cups of water on our table and all over my friend. The food wasn’t good at all, the portion sizing is big though. It doesn’t taste like authentic vietnamese phở, if you know what I mean. But if you like bigger portioned foods but not so good, go for it. I would drive a few more miles down and go to Phở 777. Much better food there.

I love the owner. She always remembers our order and is so sweet. The food is amazing and you have to try the egg rolls. The sauce that comes with it is amazing.

Don’t eat to-go. Obviously, noodles are more of a sit down kind of experience. I was in a rush and I was craving phở. I ordered a large. When I got back home, the soup container was only halfway full. The portion of noodles was a small handful. The business has truly gone downhill since one of the owners left. The waitresses are only happy when they get tips. The soup taste has changed since one of the owners left. It’s saltier. The only reason I keep coming back is because of their fresh spring rolls. At least, something hasn’t changed.

My first time at Saigon Garden. I had the Large size Phở Dac Biet. Me, my husband and daughter all loved our choices. Great price and plenty of food. My husband is now hooked on Bubble Tea. We will definitely go back again.

The phở was good and it was full of meat but it could have used more flavor. There was definitely a lot of food for a good price.

Unfortunately, the Vietnamese food at Saigon Garden is really Americanized. The shrimp summer roll appetizers weren’t memorable; rather than being filled with fragrant mint and basil, they contained wilted iceberg lettuce. Takeout bún vermicelli noodles came with chicken pieces coated in flour and deep-fried rather than barbecued and therefore lacking the signature grilled Asian flavours. The noodles also came with a pile of shredded iceberg lettuce rather than the typical crunchy carrots and cucumber, with no additional herbs. For more authentic fare, go to Phở 777 down the road.

The Phở noodles were delicious. The waitress was very helpful since it was our first time eating vietnamese food. Bathroom was clean. Recommend the fresh spring rolls. My wife said her bun Saigon was delicious. The whole staff was wonderful.

I have been eating here for many years now and always enjoy the food and staff. There are plenty options to choose from like Phở to American inspired dishes. The Phở for which I have not had, but friends have, say it is good and they have all the condiments with it(Fish Sauce, Vegetables, other sauces). The other dishes include a meat and rice dishes and meat and rice noodle bowls. I usually get the Chicken/Steak/Shrimp dish with a side of rice and egg roll. Other dishes I usually purchase is the Chicken/Steak/Shrimp rice noodle bowl with vegetables. The have several drinks from tea, bubble tea, coffee and other Vietnamese drinks. The also have spring rolls and other appetizers. Although some of the dishes seem Americanized, especially the above mentioned Meat dishes with rice and the Fried rice dishes. I believe the cater well to the authentic cuisine because a lot of the local Asian community eat there regularly. The owners are always there and very nice. The prices range from $ 8 – 10 a plate. Overall the food is good and the staff is very friendly.
