Great place! Located in one of the original old buildings on the downtown Conroe square. It has a great feel to it the minute you walk in! A well known local musician, Jeremy Bankhead, heads up the open mic nights every Tuesday and it is always a good time! Prices are good & the drinks are even better! Highly recommend.

Terrible. Awful. They had wonderful music, but, the staff gives no care about you at all. I ordered a double whiskey cranberry and they told me they were «out» of cranberry. yet there was a gallon sitting right behind her! Told the manager (in a nice, reasonable way) but apparently it wasn’t his problem and he didn’t give any care about it at all, proceeds to talk down to us and act as if there was no issue because it «wasn’t him» that said they were «out of cranberry»…
Point being, terrible service. They don’t care about their customers. Won’t be giving them any service again anytime soon.

The Corner Pub is located on Simonton and N. Main St. (oddly enough on a corner… ha!) in the heart of downtown Conroe. It’s a classic watering hole and the perfect place to cool off with a cold beer and maybe grab a sandwich or salad. It is not only a great place to eat and enjoy a Top Texas Craft Beer, but also a wonderful entertainment venue featuring up-​and-​coming Texas musicians, comedians and poets. There are also a number of flat screens so you can catch that sporting event you’ve been looking forward to.
The historic building which is now the Corner Pub was built in 1911 after the Great Conroe Fire of that year destroyed most of the town. After the tragic event, only three buildings — all made of brick — were left standing: the courthouse, the bank and the Conroe hotel. When I first walked into the Corner Pub, I knew right away it was my type of place. The high, vaulted ceilings bring you back to the time when this area was rebuilding and trying to get back on its feet. Come to find out, when doing some renovations they discovered the original ceilings.
We sat at the bar and enjoyed a local favorite — Bombshell Blonde Ale from Southern Star Brewing Company. The Corner Pub has a number of great craft beers to choose from as well as a full bar if you want something with a bit more kick. You can see how cool the place is by looking at the photography. The bar staff and the locals we met were all very friendly and we enjoyed our conversations.
After our beers, we went to the deli which is in another room in the same building. I asked what the local favorites were and we decided to get just that. We ordered the Summer Salad, the Reuben and the Club Sandwich.
The Summer Salad was the perfect choice for a light lunch: spinach, strawberries, almonds, feta cheese and raspberry vinaigrette. The strawberries were so sweet — the perfect complement to the feta cheese and vinaigrette dressing. Loved it!
Next, we split the sandwiches. The Reuben was a hot sandwich composed of corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing stacked between two grilled slices of rye bread. The sauerkraut was great and the corned beef? Delish! The Club Sandwich consisted of sliced ham and turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise on toasted bread. This classic sandwich was prepared well and tasted nice and fresh. It’s tough to say which one I liked best as they were both good; you can’t go wrong with either choice.
We enjoyed our visit to the Corner Pub and the friendly chats with the locals we met. I look forward to my next trip to the Conroe area. Next time, I’ll stop by at night to watch a live band perform. Good food, good people, good times, what more do you need? The Corner Pub is the perfect place to stop in and get a bite. They have everything you are looking for, and more!

I eat lunch here way too often ! The grilled cheese BLT is addictive. It’s pretty dead during the day and the staff is so friendly.

Awesome bartender, the one with a long beard. He makes great drinks. We heard live music with a good size stage. They have open mic during the week and performances on the weekend. Loved it!

The corner pub has potential. The atmosphere is awesome, but the older woman who bartends was a complete b**** to us (and not just our group but other customers too). I would not recommend this place

First timer — rarely get into downtown Conroe. Pleasantly surprised. Headed back to the deli had the Reuben special. High quality deli meat and friendly service.

I visited the Conroe Corner Pub today and was pleasantly surprised. If you’re not a local it is good to know that you must walk into the back of the restaurant to order, there is no waiter service. So after glancing over the simple lunch menu I decided to go with the French Dip, an old time favorite. My coworker went with the turkey club, I believe. A couple things to note about their lunch:
1.All lunches come with chips, broccoli slaw or tomato soup. This may change throughout the season. Simple enough side choices. I choose chips, because I was a little hesitant about this place in the beginning. Notice, I said in the beginning.
2. All lunches are served by default with iced tea. Now, living in Texas for three years now, I know all Texans love themselves some iced tea. If you want something else to drink, look to your right and choose a soda can out of their fridge.
3. When we were delivered our lunch roughly 10 minutes later, I was excited! This French Dip was delicious! The portion of meat was spot on, and looked like it had come from a local deli, seasoned well on a wonderfully toasted hoagie. The au jus was just as spectacular. I’m not going to lie, I didn’t even ask my coworker how his sandwich was because I was so busy eating mine.
Places like this need to be talked about more. I believe the Corner Pub Deli just recently opened for their lunch and if you live in Conroe or anywhere near it and want to try out a cute, local, deli for lunch, I would do so! By the looks of it, this place is mostly a bar and they have live entertainment at night. If I was staying here longer, I would definitely mosey on down to the Corner Pub to see what was happening. Just a good ol’ fashion, cute little place.

I have only been once, during the Catfish Festival and it was packed, with a great band and a great atmosphere. I have a feeling that on a night where there is not live music, it would not be as fun. Drinks were rather expensive, but will return soon to try again!

The drinks aren’t cheap, but the music is nice, the crowd is a good local variety, and the atmosphere is a quaint flavor of cooky and cheap — lots of mismatched furniture, decorations, and chairs complete this local’s favorite dive.
