Quaint little place in Downtown Conroe. Great pizza, great burgers…

Busy place! Really need to have a reservation if possible. But not sure it would matter. Put our name on the list but they seated everyone behind us first! I finally exclaimed that everyone who came in after me had been seated and we were given an apology and seated. Very few vegetarian options. No more black bean burgers as it has been removed from the«new» menu. Sides, salads and veggie pizza for Vegetarians. Only one soup option offered each day. We ended up ordering a local beer and an order or Parmesan sweet potato fries. Selections on tap were abundant. Fries were fresh and served with ketchup. Table service was harried but pleasant. Stage for performers in this tiny venue would make an intimate performance and listening experience. Interesting music memorabilia on the walls. Very loud inside by conversation. Warm atmosphere and no TVs on which was a nice change.

This little gem in historic Conroe has amazing pizza! The live music is super fun for a date night, and it’s also a great restaurant for an early family dinner. The atmosphere is unique and intimate and feels like a special neighborhood spot!

Bob Marley pizza was awesome! Best pizza we have had. Service is great, and a large selection of tap beers.

My fiacé and I enjoy finding great resteraunts and this is one we would go out of our way to come to. The pistachio crusted chicken was one of the BEST chicken dishes I have ever had. It compares to Cheesecake Factory’s chicken picotta, but much much much better! Perfectly crispy and the lemon sauce with sun dried tomatoes and capers make the dish. We also jad the rice and veggie soup which was very good also! Lots of flavor added to a chicken noodle type soup. Cute atmosphere for a date night w some wine and live music. Can’t wait to come back!!!

There aren’t many places to eat in Conroe besides chain restaurants. So, the Red Brick tavern is a welcome option. The décor is pleasant and there’s a nice bar. However the main décor is big screen TV’s so unless you came to watch the game, the wood and so on is mostly wasted. My sandwich was tasty and creative — pulled pork with crispy onion pieces and cheese. However, it was quite greasy; the bread was soaked to mush. It was also lukewarm as were the sweet potato fries. But it was barbecue with sauce, so whatever you like. Pulled pork is often served with cole slaw which would have been a welcome option. I had indigestion before I left the table. Parmesan on the fries and cheddar and pepper jack on the sandwich was a little much. My main objections are to the prices. I found that the food cost more than it was worth to me. There are no substitutions without an up charge, e.g. it’s either fries with that or more money. On the sandwiches, no veggie substitutions, no small salad, nothing healthy without an increase in an already steep charge for what you are getting. To pay $ 14 for two enchiladas and get black beans only on the side is not good enough for me. The cocktails are ridiculously high in my view and so is beer. $ 9.50 for a well Manhattan is too much but maybe not uncommon. The service is pleasant but there’s a snobbish tone. The waitress was quite snippy when I asked about guacamole. «No, we don’t serve guacamole,» she sniffed as it were a dish beneath their notice.

This is a very good restaurant, with very good food, service, and décor — by Conroe standards. Burgers are excellent, pulled pork anything is delicious, great French onion soup. Think gastropub with a heavy emphasis on live music. If you’re anywhere near downtown Conroe this should be your choice, but let’s face it, there’s not much competition. So, it’s all relative. By Conroe/Montgomery/105 Corridor standards this is a Top 5 restaurant. Drive 10 miles south to The Woodlands and it’s just average, but that’s still pretty good — The Woodlands has some excellent restaurants. We routinely drive in to Red Brick from the lake, a good 30 minute drive, try different dishes each time, and are consistently pleased. Pleased with the food, the service, the décor, and pleased we don’t have to drive another half hour south to The Woodlands to find anything better. Against thin competition, RBT stands out as an excellent choice.

Recommended by local for lunch. Beautiful old building in center of Conroe. Attractive brick and wood interior. Service from all staff quick and pleasant and from Sydney attentive without pressure. Food, 3 x tacos carnitas excellent, 2 x fish tacos excellent. Local IPA excellent, local hard cider excellent. All in all I’ll be back for dinner soon and lunch whenever possible.

When going to Conroe Theater one of our fav places to dine beforehand. The food is fresh and well prepared. Our wait staff is friendly and attentive.

I give it 3 stars because the food is tasty but the portions are ridiculously small!!! $ 16 for a shepherd pie that was 6″ in diameter with a dolup of mashed potatoes on top. Ambiance is nice, so if you’re not hungry and just want a cute place to hang out this is the place for you.

Over priced, slidders and osters were good and the menu suggest that it’s up scale but it’s quite obvious that there is not a real chef in the kitchen, soggy french fries french onion soup made altogether wrong no onion was used in the soup And over seasoned with rosemary would not go there again. Oh and the staff are great but I’m guite sure by their reaction to our complaints that they are well aware of sub par food they deliver to your table.

This is one of the coolest places in Conroe & Montgomery. First time visiting and very impressed. Came for lunch on a weekday a little after noon. The service was great from being seated immediately to receiving food and drinks in good time. We only went appetizers on this visit. The chips and queso is good. Different recipe from your standard Mexican food joint. Also had a good spin on the chicken quesadilla. Solid representation. Finally had the cheeseburger sliders. Probably enjoyed them the most. They allow you to choose all of your toppings. Good presentation for all the above. Can’t wait to return and try some entrees and pizza!

Red brick tavern just instituted a 4 beer minimum. I am very disappointed. My boss and I had a tradition to meet up after he comes visits me, we’ll that tradition is over. On top of that, pizza was greasy, and our bar tender was not having a great day.

Great find in downtown Conroe. The food was excellent and music playing in the background was great. Great craft beer selection. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and vibes the place gives. Was not expecting this in Conroe.

This is my second time coming here. I was searching for somewhere to eat and they were the only ones open at 10. Started with a $ 2 mimosa! Their Sunday menu is fantastic! I decided on the Drunken French Onion soup bc of reviews and the Caprese salad bc I hadn’t seen any pictures of it. My waitress had the biggest smile and was so patient while I took my time to order! Food was fantastic! Loved that they were playing Christian Rock music! Great way to start a fun Sunday! I’ll bring the hubby next time!

The Red Brick Tavern is located in historic downtown Conroe. Downtown Conroe has that small-town feel people look for on a weekend getaway or a short trip to Texas. The Red Brick Tavern is the best of both worlds — small-town feel with big city tastes! The Red Brick Tavern has a casual feel from the moment you walk through the door! They house awesome live music so the stage is to the left. The art and photography that embrace the walls alone is worth the stop. My hat is tipped to the brilliant decorator. Everyone we had met here in Conroe had recommended The Red Brick Tavern as one of the top spots to visit. When we got there, I could tell why, right away. In Houston and other major cities, there are a number of competitors for the type of cuisine and atmosphere you get here. But in Conroe? This place is as unique as it gets. Gotta love it! We saddle on up to the bar and order a couple of craft beers. By recommendation, we tried a Stash IPA, which was very similar to the West Coast IPAs I have grown to love. Very clean finish with mad hops! I will take another please… We ordered some unique starters. Listen to this… Bacon Fried Oysters. Yessir, Fresh, Pan-Fried Gulf Oysters, served with Horseradish Dijon. I could sit here and enjoy these oysters and drink craft beer all night. Literally. We also sampled the Thai Sweet Chili Wings: delectable wings tossed with Thai Sweet Chili Sauce and Sesame Seeds. Sweet and spicy wings cooked to perfection — just too good to pass up! This is obviously another perfect match with a number of craft beers served here. I suggest you ask the server or bartender for the perfect beer to pair. The entrees arrived and the table was filling up real quick. We went with a nice selection to get a good feel of the place and, of course, try everything that sounded interesting. The Zydeko Burger, a large burger with Cheddar, Andouille Sausage, Fried Oysters, Onion Strings, and Remoulade, was definitely a unique spin on a Cajun burger. Different is an understatement. I know some folks just want a traditional burger and I love those too, but this is not that. Ha! If it sounds good to you, then you will be happy! We decided to pair our pizza with another craft beer. Do we see a trend here? We decided on a Stash IPA, a Top Texas Craft Beer based out of Austin(Independence Brewing). I can’t wait to pay them a visit as their beer is tops on my list. A great choice if you can get it on tap. Now for the pizza, my favorite of the night! The Pizza Mignon was built with Basil Pesto, bacon, mozzarella, Gorgonzola, caramelized onion, sautéed beef tenderloin, and a Balsamic Drizzle. Each flavor served its purpose and they all worked together for a rich, yet delicate, result. Pizza and beer… two of my favorite words! Every time I enjoy meat loaf, I think of my father because it is one of his favorite dishes. As a kid I thought that was hilarious… how could anyone pick meat loaf over a hot dog? Ha! You wouldn’t hear something like that come out of my mouth these days! Here at the Red Brick Tavern, they are serving up a BBQ Meatloaf topped with Whipped Yukon Potatoes, Tavern BBQ Sauce, and Crispy Onion Strings and served with collard greens. If you haven’t ever had the pleasure of savoring the BBQ Meatloaf, then do try it! The classic comfort food — but with that craft flare. Momma’s cooking on another level! I enjoyed the Stash IPA so much that I decided to go with another Independence Brewing Co favorite — the Convict Hill. It’s funny how yummy this Oatmeal Stout tastes when you drop a couple of scoops of Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream in it. Convict Hill is the perfect dessert by itself, but with a bit of homemade vanilla ice cream… it becomes just criminal! Needless to say, I found a new home away from home. I can’t see myself visiting Conroe without a stop at the Red Brick Tavern to enjoy some delicious craft beers along with an array of good eats. I can’t wait to see what this place looks like on a night when they have live entertainment. Good Eats, Craft Beers and Local Activities. Sound familiar? Red Brick Tavern fits in that exclusive trifecta that defines Good Eats Texas. See ya soon!

I finally had the collard greens my buddy had been suggesting I try here for awhile. Before I tried them I had no idea how he could be so excited over greens. Then I tried them. HOLYHOLY! A religious experience. Noises were emanating from my mouth involuntarily. The greens were not soggy as I have encountered before. They had texture and bite. The broth was a salty, bacony thing of beauty. I asked Chris at the bar if they had crusty bread and he toasted me some thin Chibata. Perfect! I’m hooked. It was a cold day and I asked Chris if they had hot chocolate so I could take my wife some when I picked her up from Conroe ISD where she was taking a class. His response says all you need to know about this place. He thought about for a second and replied«we have brownies.» I see where he was going with that but I didn’t take him up on it. It’s the thought that counts. I took her soup. Great place. I wish it was in The Woodlands.
