$ 65 King non-smoking room. The room was beyond clean, just a model of spic-and-span housekeeping. The view from the highway is a little ramshackle, but not creepy or dangerous looking. On the other hand, it was kind of quirky with non-matching moldings and three different drywall textures on the ceiling. The bathroom door didn’t latch and the solid surface tub surround looked like it was salvaged from another project and jiggered to fit. The bed seemed new and was very comfortable. The heat/ac unit was whisper quiet and efficient. The flat screen tv looked like an early generation version, but functioned fine. Sadly, it was housed in an enormous, outdated and ridiculous entertainment-center/wardrobe/dresser unit that sucked up way too much floor space, resulting in a very cramped feeling room. See the photo of the tv unit in the gallery and take a critical look at the distance from the foot of the beds to the cabinet and you will see what I mean. The breakfast was typical«motel free breakfast», with Texas-shaped Belgian waffles included. The desk guy wasn’t very chatty, but was still friendly and had the grace to help me with the waffle maker in a completely neutral and non-mocking way. Overall, the cleanliness of the room was remarkable. The rest made it exactly what I paid for: a $ 65 last minute reservation. Definitely not the Hilton, but also not the kind of place where you sleep fully dressed on top of the covers with one eye open and a .45 on the nightstand.

We were not sure what to expect when we stayed here last weekend. I am happy to say we were very pleasantly surprised! We were just looking for a place to stay for a night after a concert and this met our needs & then some! The rate was excellent($ 39 a night), great manager, 24 hour convenience store, and free breakfast(waffles, pastries, juice). It has recently been remodeled and it great for a weekend stay where you don’t plan on spending much time around the hotel. We will definitely look into staying here the next time we need to stay on the north side of town!
