I love this Kroger. It’s clean and there aren’t any ill behaved children running around half naked like at Walmart. There is a great selection of natural and organic products. I would like to see more products that are both soy and gluten free. The only warning I would offer is to AVOID the pharmacy… the staff there are rude. I have gone there twice and both time the staff were rude. The first time I went, I told the general store manager about the rudeness of the pharmacy staff and he didn’t seem to care. I don’t know if it is because I look young or what, but he showed little concern and just brushed me off. That experience kept me from shopping at Kroger all together for several months. The last visit I had a prescription transferred and they told me it would be ready later that day. Instead, I went the next day and it was still not ready, so I had to wait for 25 mins for it. Then when I got home I realized that they failed to give me the $ 25 dollar grocery credit that I was owed for the prescription transfer. I went back to talk to the trainee staff member who checked me out and she gave me such attitude it was shocking and said that I was not eligible because it was a new prescription. I attempted to correct her saying that it was not new and was just written by a different doctor for the same medication. She stood her ground and refused to give me the credit. So finally the pharmacy manger came over and said that I was correct and issued me the credit. Anyway, if you shop smart the food is priced ok when on sale and you have coupons. Also the gas is often the cheapest price in town.

We have been shopping at the Loop 336 Kroger since we moved from New Orleans in 2006. When we first arrived to the area we used to drive all the way to the Woodlands HEB to get better produce. Not anymore since Kroger has finally stepped it up big time. They now also offer a much better health food selection and it’s no longer hidden away, but showcased near the produce department. Good– The entire store is laid out much better since it’s major overhaul. Kroger’s prices are very competitive and there are specials all the time if your pay attention. They finally have a decent selection of organic fruits and vegetables. I am so excited to report they finally carry a wide array of cheeses from around the world. This was not the case a few years ago. They also now finally carry a wider variety of meats like lamb chops. This too was hard to come by not long ago. I love the fact they are encouraging people to go green with their own Kroger re-usable bags. Wish everyone would drop their plastic bags off to be recycled, they have a bin right in front!!! Look for it! Bad — they don’t carry the prepared meals that HEB has, nor do they have as nice a seafood department that has dishes like salmon stuffed with fresh crabmeat. I love this because it makes a quick meal during the week. There wine department has come a long way, but still has room for improvement. Ugly– Nothing to report as of yet. I will keep you posted.
