The tacos are love. The tacos are life. This is where the tacos come from. Beef. Onion. Cilantro. That’s all you need. Deep down you are sick of ordering horrible white people tacos with panko crusted tuna off of «secret menus.» This is the cure. This is the source of the taco. Come, brother. Taste the taco. It doesn’t hurt to get loaded at one of Cornrow’s fine brewpubs first. Copperhead is right down the street.

Best tacos ever! Fajita steak is my favorite, although all of their food is delicious!

Husband and I went last night! Yes yes yes! More please! Try the barbacoa! Husband had the pastor and liked it. The salsa bar is nice! The people were friendly. And the place was clean! GO!

These are by far the best tacos in Montgomery county, he’ll maybe even better than any in Harris county. The price is great and if you get corn tortillas you can Make 2 tacos from 1!

These are real-deal, to-die-for, Mexican tacos! The menu is small, offering 6 meats(pastor, lengua, barbacoa, fajita, chicken, and chicharon), served on corn tortillas topped with cilantro, onions, and salsa, at $ 2/taco. We tried them all and my favorites are a 3 way tie: pastor, barbacoa, and fajita. They were all quite tasty, the chicharon probably my least favorite because it was a bit chewy, but if you like chicharon, you’d probably love it! They have a great salsa bar, with dried chile salsas, and a comal of deliciously greasy warm, sautéed onions. This place is a must go! Venture out and give it a try, it’s truly an authentic taste of Mexico.

Excellent. Only complaint is they went up on their prices.

Best Tacos since I left Chicago. The place itself is small, relatively dirty and cramped. That being said, I still go because the tacos are terrific. I am thinking of trying the other location as I hear it is a little better kept than the one on Ave G.

I had a 2 barbacoa tacos and a tried one chicharon taco. The barbacoa was good as I expected, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the chicharon. Where I’m from the chicharon tacos are crispy and these were soggy. I wasn’t a fan of the texture. Still a really good restaurant and super cheap! Definitely plan on going back for more barbacoa.

Torchy’s should come and eat here! Outstanding, fresh tacos prepared by the owner. A little bit of a wait, but well worth it. Highly recommended.

I originally posted this review on the wrong location. I went to the Avenue G location. I have been on a taco kick lately, which is a little harder on my fitness regiment than when I was on a phở kick. This is now my favorite taqueria in the surrounding area. The pastor and barbacoa were outstanding. They have a great salsa bar that even includes grilled onions. I will be back soon.

Best tacos north of beltway 8! Located in a divey joint off Frazier(don’t confuse it with their 105 location), this place is the real deal! Excellent tacos, esp pastor. Also many other great choices like beef tongue, nopalitos, barbacoa, chicken, chicharrones. The sauce bar is awesome. The salsa verde is spicy and flavorful, an absolute must here! Also the grilled onions are absolutely essential for your tacos. Good enough to eat alone. Corn tortillas are standard and default. But try the flour tortilla, really excellent. Top it off with horchata and you have an excellent meal! Conroe at it’s best here.

Wow, I haven’t eaten authentic Mexican tacos in a long long time until I tried this little place in the east side of Conroe. The place is not the cleanness nor is it appealing but their tacos are worth coming here for! I have to say that their tacos were flavorful, freshly made and most of all delicious!!! Their selection is only 6 types and that’s all you will need!!! Try them all and decide which one is your favorite; personally I can’t seem to choose one! «disfruta»(enjoy) this place!!!

This place is tacos ONLY, not a Mexican restaurant. No gorditas, tortas, etc. so just know that ahead of time. I called and placed an order about 11pm Friday since nothing else was open. I asked for 6 fajita tacos with avacado and cheese. The first thing they told me was they dont have cheese! Ok fine, no big deal, I can put my own cheese. I go and pick them up and instead of putting avacado in, they give me a whole avacado. The price was decent enough, but the tacos were average at best. Theres a good chance that they may be some of the best in Conroe, but i’ve had way better. Dont think i’ll be eating here again.

Best Authentic Taqueria I have found in Montgomery County. Located in a sketchy area on the east side of Conroe right off Frasier. There use to be a crack house years ago next to a glass store which I purchased custom made glass table tops from which went out of business across on Frasier. I think the crack house blew up or was leveled. Anyway if you visit just be aware of your immediate surroundings. Btw there are 2 La Palma’s in Conroe. This is the taqueria one. My first visit I was not safe to exit my vehicle which seemed to be a flukey experience. The second visit was safe and I proceeded into this old run down building. I ordered 2 pastor tacos and I fajita taco on corn tortillas. They came with cilantro and onions. The pastor tacos were solid 5 star authentic Mexican at it’s best. The pastor tacos even had bark on them from being cooked. Such yummy goodness, best pastor I’ve ever had!!! I got a lengua taco by accident instead of a fajita taco. The lengua was so well cooked though it didn’t resemble the normal«cubed» looking lengua. Actually it was delicious for lengua and I would order it again but I really wished I had gotten the fajita taco I had ordered. They have a condiment bar with a huge bowl of sautéed onions which you must try. It’s like a free treat. Load up on them if you like sautéed onions, you’ll be glad you did. Also a variety of red and green salsas are available. Hygiene is lacking! Tables are dirty but just roll out the paper towel roll like a big placemat and enjoy. Bathroom is outside. Employees do speak English and are very nice. I’ll be back!

Before the invention of a GPS, I’d reckon only Christopher Columbus could find this place. Tucked off a remote side street in the Conroe area is a true diamond in the rough. Upon first pulling up, with the iron bar windows & doors I was quite nervous. After entering the front door and looking at the main menu in Spanish and noting the clientele were all fluent Spanish speakers, I knew if I could get my order right I could be in for quite the treat. I ordered two chicken and two beef fajita tacos. Man were they good! They come with the standard double layer corn tortilla w/cilantro & onions. The salsa bar was good, but was a bit unkept and low on some of the sides. I’m afraid to see what their sanitation grade is, but I definitely disregarded it in a place like this. Whatever price you see on the board, that is what you pay. Tax is already included. They also take credit cards w/a $ 6 minimum purchase. If you can get past the seedy surrounds, you will find yourself in a 1,000 square foot oasis of an authentic Mexican taqueria. What an experience!

Man I don’t know how I missed this place for so long! This place is awesome! I’ve tried the fajita, barbacoa, and pastor tacos so far. Won’t get the barbacoa again, it was lame. Seemed bland and mushy… But the others were great! They have a great little salsa bar and cups so you can pack up a bunch of stuff to go. They also have a grill-tray thing with a bunch of grilled onions on it. Awesome! SERVEYOSELFSOMEONIONS! But yeah, great prices, quaint atmosphere, tasty food, def plan to be back here often!
