Wedgewood Golf Course

I played here a few years back and really enjoyed it. Well laid out, some challenging holes and some beautiful scenery to add to it. I scored my first hole in one here on a small par three, excellent stuff! The 18^th hole is fantastic… what a view!
As I said it was a few years ago, but since moving to Conroe I’ll be getting a round in there there shortly.

I’m not a review writer, but I felt compelled. Played there Sat 8/​8, greens were in great shape… a little slow, fairways and tee boxes where thin due to the heat, but the course is challenging. Here’s the kicker 2:48 min to play the front nine, finished in 5:15 teeing off at 8am. Ridiculous, the marshall kept telling us there was a 4-​some holding everyone up. I kept telling him to give them a rain check and get them off the course, but they just let them continue to play. I won’t be going back. I should have known better when I called and they set they’re tee times 9 minutes apart vs 12 like most other decent courses.

Hard to beat this course for $ 15 @10:30am, booked on Golf Now. Fairly difficult. Unless you are a low handicap do yourself a favor and play from the whites, at least the first time. Lots of blind shots, but they have me a free yardage book, which helped. Golf carts are gas powered. Cart path needs to be re-​done in some places. Greens were just ok and tan slow. The best part is the staff, they are very friendly and helpful. I’ll go back. Probably worth $ 40. It has potential to be a great course with a little more funding for maintenance, but heck then it wouldn’t be $ 15…

The course itself is not in bad condition — fairways are pretty well kept but the greens were extremely slow. I didn’t really like the course layout, I only got to use my driver a few times during the round. Play was really fast so if you’re looking for a quick round at a decent price this isn’t a bad option. Overall just an average course.

Very nice public course that is challenging. This and Panorama Village are my 2 favorites in the Conroe area. Friendly staff always makes the experience pleasant.

This was an amazing course, challenging, yet gratifying. Not top level tour stuff of course, but great for the 22 $ I paid through golf now tee times.
Warning to the inexperienced and inaccurate. Fairways are tight. The more you miss the more you pay for it. One of the houses on the 18^th claims to sell back golf balls because of so many balls that find there way into there back yard. I don’t lose balls much, but easily lost 5 or 6, turned this round into something a bit more expensive.
The greens could use some work but aren’t bad. Greens are just right, not too ridiculously undulated, just need some sanding over and over seed. They roled true, but occasionally had scuffs that could use some love, but it is public golf for a reason.
Tee boxes could use new grass in some spots. Great mix of holes that will challenge even for such a short yardage course (6500 from tips). This course favors accuracy over power hitters off the tee. Alot of holes I found myself hitting woods and irons off the tee, and my driver (which i usually hit in the 275 range) is certainly not good if you have the tendency to put it in the trees, which on holes like number 12 is a distinct possibility.
This is the standard I would expect for a mid level golf club. I think that is why I enjoyed it so much. I will probably come back at some point this summer. I shot 102(far worse than my 18 handicap) but will definitely come back and play again and hopefully not lose too many golf balls

Played here again last Thursday.
The course was in reasonable condition. Greens were decent and pretty consistent. A few fairway spots could use a little more grass. Maybe a little more water would help. But, after all, it is ‘winter’ golf.
I joined a couple and as a threesome, from three different tee boxes, we got around in 3:15 minutes! Great pace of play.
The staff is always friendly and helpful.
For the price, it’s a worthwhile round of golf.

Nice course for the money and in pretty good shape considering the weather we’ve had lately… $ 37 for a round and cart on the weekend seems like a good deal around here. The greens were well kept, but a little inconsistent in the roll, so they kept you guessing. The staff was friendly, with the ranger consistently around… On the last few holes we did slow down due to a bunch of drunks who were together and playing super slow. The marshal didn’t manage to get to them before we finished, but no big deal as I wasn’t in much of a hurry.
Not much to complain about here, good experience overall.
