I feel I must explain my 3-stars for the standard of Texas convenient roadside burgers. (Please don’t talk to me about DQ… yes, it’s everywhere in small town Texas but anyone who’s anyone gets a chicken finger or steak finger basket at DQ and that’s all I’m going to say about that.) Anyway, the food at this Whataburger is a strong 4-star. I felt like my Whataburger, no cheese, no onion, no tomato was prepared by a heavy handed mustard applier. Mustard everywhere. Every.Where. But the burger was still good. And the fries… perfection. What knocks this Whataburger down to a 3-star is its craptastic location. It is seriously the hardest place to turn into if you are driving westbound. The best thing you can hope for is a prayer to the Lord Above who loves Texas and loves Whataburger to give you a minuscule break in the traffic so you can execute a white-knuckle left turn. Making that turn caused one of those long-time married people fights that you remember as a «wow, we sure got close to the divorce line with that fight» moment between my husband and I. For that reason — because we’ve had a happy marriage up to now — we won’t be making a return visit to this Whataburger. And that’s why I’m writing this review so the next time we’re driving to Houston and feeling hungry, I’ll pull up Unilocal to find the closest Whataburger and will read this tale of mustard and traffic woe and will keep driving instead of stopping.

So, Whataburger is a huge deal in Texas. It seems as though there is one on every corner, sort of like Starbucks here in California. I have always heard people rave about it, but I have never understood what all the fuss was about. I had been here once before during lunch time and I ordered a chicken sandwich. It was awful! I took two bites, threw the entire meal away and went to McDonalds(it’s sad when McDonalds is better!). The chicken was flavorless and rubbery. Yuck! My boyfriend and I were in town visiting his parents over the Holiday and one of the mornings I let him talk me into going to Whataburger for breakfast. I decided on the potato taquito and I was pleasantly surprised though I am not sure why it is called a taquito because it is most certainty nothing of the sort. It is actually a potato burrito. It consists of a flour tortilla, cheddar cheese, scrambled eggs and hash browns. Add some of their picante sauce to it and you’ve got yourself a tasty, fresh potato breakfast burrito! I am glad to know that I can stomach Whataburger for breakfast, but you will never catch me ordering off of their lunch/dinner menu!

Found out a neat thing about whataburger. If I want fresh fries anytime all I have to do is ask for«no salt» fries and packets of salt. Works everytime. also i think this one makes the best Monterey melt out of all of them. Feel bad for the employees there, looks like they are so short staffed when I come in. All in all, pretty good, just make sure to double check with your cashiers to make sure they get your order correct!

I don’t understand. I have the easiest order ever, a triple meat, triple cheese whataburger with mustard ketchup and grilled onions. Every time I come to the store I get the wrong burger or I get stuff on it I didn’t want I don’t understand why it’s that difficult to make a burger with only 3 things on it.

CORPORATE, PLEASEHELP! NEWMANAGEMENTNEEDEDASAP!!! This Whataburger used to be great but has SERIOUSLY gone downhill! I fear for its survival. Every single employee needs to be fired and replaced with employees that actually give a shit about themselves and their jobs! I understand that this is fast food and we aren’t supposed to really expect much from it, but this is Whataburger and it’s a Texas tradition and I do expect more from it! Take some lessons from Chic-Fil-A for crying out loud!

As with most Whataburgers I have visited, the 24 hour availability is a huge plus, as is their extended breakfast availability(11 – 11). While the food is always delicious — it seems like every time I visit through the drive through I have to pull up and wait, as do most cars it seems. The most recent time, it was late(8PM or so) and they did not tell me they were waiting on more of what I ordered as they were apparently out upon my ordering, only after I paid and was asked to pull forward did someone explain. Disappointed since if I had known the wait and time involved I would have gladly ordered something else. However– the staff is always friendly and courteous, and the food is always delicious.

Open 24⁄7 for late night grub! Triple cheeseburger with jalepenos hits the spot! Quick with much better/fresher ingredients than the other fast food places and reasonably priced.
