hands down the best mexican food on the east coast, prices are good, they’re open late… the food is the same at the other locations, ive been to ambler, malvern and bryn mawr and it’s just as good. Theres really nowhere i’ve been to thats comparable for the price.

Good food, quick takeout and friendly staff. If you like authentic Mexican food it’s a great spot. Also heard they may have a liquor license soon.

This is definitely one of my favorite tacos in the area! I always come here at least 3 times a month and order chicken tinga tacos and al pastor(these ones have pineapples in them) I’ve taken all my friends here and all of them love it ! The price is definitely affordable. Soooo cheap, especially since most of the stores are in the Mainline. You get your money’s worth! I also recommend getting the nachos — they are delicious !

Probably one of the best restaurants in Conshy. Located on bustling Fayette Street, it’s completely low-key, no-fuss good food. I love the unpretentious atmosphere; the servers and guests are friendly, and generally everybody is happy to be there. My go-to is the al pastor burrito bowl, which is probably closer to 2 full meals. The portions here are very generous. The sweets and savory flavors are to-die for! Combined with flavorful sauces and guacamole, it’s essentially a perfect meal. My boyfriends loOooOOooves any of their tacos, especially tikka chicken, with rice and beans. And at the end of the meal, you’ll feel even better because the prices are very reasonable.

Best Mexican food ever! It’s difficult to find seating during rush hour so go before or after those times if you want to be seated quick. The inner space isn’t anything fancy — looks like a small little hole in the wall but the food is surprisingly amazing! Quick and friendly service that delivers fresh and wholesome food. Definitely recommend the tinga(spicy shredded chicken) enchiladas with mole sauce. So good! Unlimited margaritas as well. Prices are super decent too! A full meal for two people is under $ 25.

Ok, I’m being very drastic here, perhaps a bit schizophrenic. Over a year after I was so disappointed by this place, I tried it again. Had 2 tacos and a tostada. And some guacamole and chips to share. Everything was delicious. A friend told me they renewed their ventilation system which was a huge improvement. Last time I came here my clothes and hair smelled when I got home; this time I had no problem at all. No, I don’t mind taking a shower and washing my clothes but it’s a little annoying if coats smell too. It can get crowded, but people come and go so your wait shouldn’t be too long.

We’ve been coming here for years. Tonight will be our last visit. Immediately after eating at El Limon tonight, 1/16, my boyfriend turned pale and vomited profusely. A visit to the Minute Clinic confirmed that he had food poisoning. I hope that Management takes this issue seriously and takes the necessary precautions to ensure a safe food environment for their guests in the future.

Some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had and it’s so CHEAP!!! Not to mention, it’s BYOB! You can’t go wrong here! I personally love their nachos and get them every time I come here.

The tacos here are incredible! This is definitely the best taco restaurant in Philadelphia. I got three tacos– one chorizo, one carnitas, and one steak. All equally amazing! The food is so fresh and not one bit greasy! The servers and chefs are so friendly as well! Can’t wait to go back!

One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been too. El limon now has a special place in my heart. Everything is phenomenal here, from the burritos, to the guacamole, to the free margaritas!(Shhh keep that a secret). Prices are very very reasonable. Waitress always greet you with a smile and I LOVE how vegetarian friendly they are!

A really great place for tacos. Make your tacos supreme — a good portion of cotija? Cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. The al pastor and asada were my favorites. Having lived in Houston and Phoenix, I have had some good Mexican food. El Limon certainly fit the bill. Oh so good! And the guacamole had a great amount of spicy that just makes u eat more and more! I am totally coming back. In fact I found out there’s one in Ardmore that’s a little close to home. You have to try this place! –keep eatin’-

What’s not to love here? Open til 3am so it’s perfect for late night, post night life munchies. A diverse crowd — suits, townies, hipsters, youngsters and older folks like me all gathered grab filling, tasty Mexican fare. bright«time to go home» lights keep this place from becoming an after hours club(which is good), but you are welcome to eat in and people watch

El Limon is our go-to Mexican place. We first got attracted to this place as we were seated at the restaurant across the street(Chiangmai) and having dinner. On impulse, we were checking reviews of places close-by and El Limon stood out in having very high ratings. A few weeks later, we came back to the area — this time to El Limon and were very impressed with the quality and value of the food here. I ordered a Cubana sandwich which went for the princely amount of $ 8.50 and was very filling and perfectly done. My wife went with a Alambre with mixtos — a variety of different meats + shrimp. It was lip-smacking delicious. The portions of the alambre were also so substantial that we took a fair bit of it home and enjoyed it later on. Since then we have been here twice and — just to give you a sense of how much I have enjoyed the cubana — I have ordered it on both occasions. My wife has had the alambre once and the fajitas on another occasion and both of us have been happy with those food choices. Given that my Indian taste buds are used to significant spice levels, I have had to use some of their spicy sauces that are on the counter but with those added in, I have found the flavor profiles excellent. As the décor of the place and menu prices will tell you, this isn’t trying to be a fancy sit-down place and so when it comes to service, there isn’t much too much to write about. However, the servers appear friendly and are happy to oblige with requests. The reason for taking off a star is the slightly ridiculous prices on the additions. Last night my wife requested guacamole and cheese on the side with her fajitas and from what i remember, a small cup of guac(the size in which you might have some ketchup served to you) was $ 2.50 and a similar-sized cup for cheese was $ 2.00 — those prices seem a little insane and out of place with the rest of their pricing. Also, while I have always gone back for the cubana, I feel as though I enjoyed it the most the first time around and on the last two visits, I have enjoyed it a tad less. In particular, I like my food to be served hot and my sandwich buns to be nicely toasted, and I felt that the sandwich had achieved both to a greater extent the first time I had ordered it. These comments notwithstanding — El Limon rocks and is an excellent choice for great, inexpensive Mexican food. We see ourselves going there on many occasions in the future.

This place was busy when we got there and busy when we left. It’s super popular among locals! We waited about 10 minutes to get a seat and the service was great the whole time. The quesadilla with steak was awesome, once of the best quesadillas I’ve had. Crispy outside, a generous amount of melted cheese inside, and flavorful steak meat, served with sour cream and chopped lettuce and tomato. I thought my tostada was pretty good. Crispy shell topped with al pastor meat and shredded lettuce and sour cream. The enchiladas were good and flavorful, filled with shredded chicken. We also ordered the nachos, which next time I would just get chips with salsa and guacamole as the nachos were really soggy in the middle because of the beans. My husband though this place was too Americanized although I like how they put lettuce, tomato and sour cream on everything!

No frills, just thrills. Come here for cheap, delicious Mexican food and FREE margaritas. It’s easy to over-indulge in both here, but hey — you deserve this! The menu has a nice variety of dishes guaranteed to satisfy everyone at the table. We tried almost all of their tacos and really liked the steak, chicken, and chorizo. Seafood tacos are available as entrees(must get 3 and can’t substitute) — we had the fish but thought they were just okay. Out of curiosity we also got the steak sope, which came overflowing with meat and things. 5⁄5 satisfaction. I was skeptical of the meal being filling, but needless to say we’d definitely overestimated ourselves. Note: To get all the toppings(e.g. cheese, salsa, etc.) means you have to pay a bit more to make your orders«supreme.» It’s totally worth it so don’t forget! Also guac on the side for that cherry on top. We had no room in our stomachs or on the table for their burrito, but it looked massive and glorious. Next time.

I am so happy I ate here! I tried the marinated chicken, steak, and chorizo tacos. I loved the soft shell(doubled so it doesn’t fall apart) cheese and lettuce. The chicken was by far my favorite but all of them were very tasty. The burrito with mole sauce and the enchiladas were also big hits. Honestly I doubt anything you get from here wouldn’t be great. I LOVED their homemade salsas. Green was a little sweet and the red was spicier. Great flavor and NOT watery at all! It was delicious, I put them on everything!!! They give you free margaritas also. This is pretty cool, even though they aren’t strong. A very nice touch in my opinion. Also, coming from DC the thought that 4 people could have 4 entrees and spend less then $ 40 total is unheard of. Get your butts over here and eat!

Do you want great, authentic Mexican dishes thousands of miles from the border? Go here. This eclectic little joint is cheap, fast, and spot on. When you eat at El Limon, you are bathed in an aroma of perfect Mexican flavors. Each time my girlfriend and I go, we order chips and guacamole to start. Be sure to try the red and green salsas(in the squirt bottles on the table). They are sweet, hot, and fantastic! Within a few more minutes our dishes are already out. It’s incredible how fast the dishes make it out. We’ve been on 3 occasions and each time our hot, steamy meals are out within 10 minutes. I constantly yearn for the fish tacos in a corn tortilla(flour if you want). But on my last visit, I tried the Alambre with carnitas. I’ve eaten a lot of Mexican food in my days(don’t most Americans?) but I had never heard of the Alambre. The sweet mixture of peppers, onions, carnitas, and BACON topped with fresh Mexican cheese was astoundingly delicious. The dish hits a homerun by being served with corn tortillas. My girlfriend and I have fallen in love with El Limon(it’s our«secret» spot) so if you’re going, please let us know. Or better yet, you may just see us there!

It’s been a while since I’ve had truly great authentic Mexican food, muchas gracias El Limon! Had the steak burrito and used their red hot sauce, and it is hot! I wish they had one of these in Tampa. Update: I had to add that I decided to try the Tres Leches for dessert, and it was incredible!

Cheap and high quality authentic Mexican food that you can’t beat compared to neighboring competitors. I recommend: 1) the el pastor nachos for a sweet spicy creamy savory crunch 2) their burritos for a full carb load popping with fresh rice, various veggies, and meat of your choice 3) tacos — usually go for tinga(marinated chicken), chorizo(ground spicy sausage), or any of the other meats offered — all delicious! Not too many people know but you can get free margaritas on the rocks if you sit down to dine. Shhh keep it a secret! It’s pretty diluted for its flavor, but hey, free drinks are better than nothing! Service is always quick, friendly, and attentive. I recommend calling and ordering for pick up during high occupancy, which is usually around lunch or dinner time, since there are not too many seats. Kudos to El Limon for delivering fast, fresh, and savory Mexican food that I will always be going back to! #5stars
